Warhammer: Black Emperor
Chapter 192 Traitor
Chapter 192 Traitor
After a moment's thought, Nimrod finally decided to step into the trap that Slauda had prepared for him.
From his memory of Slauda's actions, he could confirm that the Eldar Warchief was a dangerous figure lurking in the shadows.
Today is the best chance to deal with this venomous snake.
The Primarch did not believe that he would lose to Slauda, who wielded the Vaal Sword.
If he could capture Slauda, he could also extract information about the cult and the secrets of creating immortals from his mind.
Nimrod knew that the members of the Tantric sect came from various intelligent beings in the Milky Way, including Eldar and humans.
Their goal is to destroy chaos and save the galaxy, no matter the cost.
In the current plans of esoteric Buddhism, the race to be sacrificed is the young human civilization.
They have been operating in secrecy for millions of years, recruiting psionicists and immortals as early as the time of ancient Terra, quietly altering the course of various major events to make the development of human history conform to the interests of the esoteric religion.
Unlike John Grammatikas, Damon Pretanis, a secret agent of the Cult, was completely loyal to the Cult and even referred to his own people as "monkeys," a derogatory term used by the Eldar to refer to humans.
Shortly after the Battle of Iwo Jima, he was recruited by the Cult to become an assassin. His life of treachery is too numerous to recount, as he killed both "good people" and "brothers".
He assassinated Holiard at the Glass Temple of Manujan in M19, Mather Hassan at the Open-Air Spire in M22, and the infamous Pan-Pacific tyrant Nathan Doom in M30.
For Nimrod, who aspired to become the "Black Emperor," Tantric Buddhism was undoubtedly his enemy.
The key point is that the cult has already viewed him as a threat, and knowing about this mysterious organization will allow them to deal with him more effectively.
At the same time, Tantric Buddhism was the only force known to Nimru, besides Huang Laohan, that possessed the secret of creating artificial immortals.
Slauda used secrets obtained from esoteric Buddhism to resurrect John and make him immortal.
By mastering the secrets of immortality, Nimrod could turn his capable subordinates, such as Arsena Dunn and Malena Skala, into immortals, giving them more time to advance to higher sequences.
Slauda also possesses the "War Mask," as well as the secrets he has acquired through his many journeys.
Even if the Vaal Sword wasn't made of psionic material, it was still a powerful weapon.
With this in mind, Ninglu made a decision. Seeing that the Biye-Tan armed forces in front of the governor's mansion had been wiped out, he spoke up.
"Leave three squads behind to take this Eldar and the other spoils back to the Shadow of Reign."
He strode forward, and with each step, the crimson chain restored the spiritual energy he had depleted.
Upon entering the palace, he killed any stragglers he encountered along the way.
A moment later, he reached the depths of the palace and looked at François Solaire.
The governor laughed heartily and said sarcastically.
"Lord Ninglu, thank you for your timely rescue."
"Be bold!"
The Honor Guard glared at Governor Soler, and immediately four Shadow Order members strode up the marble steps.
“Ignorant, great Aidaling, the people of Asuyan are the noble race.”
"As ignorant monkeys, we should serve our master."
"Only in this way can enlightenment be achieved."
Ninglu seemed to be deep in thought upon hearing this.
[Did Slauda follow the path of the heart or the path of deception?]
Well, Granmaticas's mind isn't so easily manipulated; it must be through deception.
Nimrod gained a better understanding of his enemy and became even more determined to eliminate Slauda, the venomous snake lurking in the shadows.
His consciousness spread toward François Solaire.
"No!"
The governor let out a pitiful cry as he saw scene after scene:
The noble race he admired was killed by a bomb.
The Eldar's promise of enlightenment was just a lie; he was being played like a fool.
……
What François Solair witnessed caused him to break down instantly.
The governor knelt on the ground in anguish, pounding his fists on the earth.
"Fake! It's all fake!"
His eyes were bloodshot, and his fists pounded until they bled, but the images continued to flash through his mind.
Ning used his psychic powers to reveal the cruel reality to the traitor Francesco Soler, causing him to die in terror.
At the moment of the governor's death, he keenly sensed that as if some mechanism had been triggered, the entire space had changed.
The hidden psionic array was activated, and the governor's palace trembled violently. The marble floor beneath their feet cracked, first undulating like ripples on water, and then completely collapsed and shattered.
With a sharp, deafening roar, a brand new deep valley opened its pitch-black maw beneath the shadows of order.
Wilshire was the first to react. Before he could warn the other members of the Honor Guard, he rushed to the Father of Genetics' side in a flash.
The Primarch glanced at him with slight surprise, compared his information with that of the 524 members of this term's Honor Guard, and then confirmed that this quick-witted offspring was named Wilshire.
[He was the only one recommended by Bradshaw and Hollis; they have good taste.]
The progenitor's thoughts shifted rapidly, and his attention returned to dealing with the ground collapse.
"Psionicists, raise your shields and protect the guards around you."
Arsena Dunn and the other psionicists in the Honor Guard raised force field shields and psionic shields to protect the surrounding shadows of order.
The next instant, the gaping maw swallowed everyone, along with the tumbling rocks and marble fragments that slid down like an avalanche.
Ninglu struggled to maintain his balance as he fell, raising his left arm to protect his head.
He sheathed the power sword back at his waist, twisted his body, reached out and grabbed Wilshire's arm, pulling him towards him.
The rumbling roar of collapsing rocks then drowned out all other sounds, and the group plummeted rapidly into the dark, indistinct underground world.
For a moment, Wilshire felt as if this was going to never end, but he wasn't alarmed at all; in fact, he felt proud.
Of all the guards, he was the only one who fulfilled his duty.
Wilshire has realized that the entire Arenis is a conspiracy, with despicable aliens and a foolish governor who has sided with them, all targeting the Father of Genesis.
When he was supported by the Primarch, he felt a surge of emotion and immediately forced himself to break free from his feelings of filial piety.
He tried his best to ascertain his surroundings and search for the enemy.
But his helmet display was full of jumbled signals and could not provide any data.
A few seconds later, his helmet vision gradually stabilized.
Wilshire turned his head and saw numerous tunnels spreading out in all directions, winding and twisting in the darkness.
He saw squads of Eldar in the passage, standing ready and looking up at them.
Wilshire was even more certain that the aliens had been lying in wait all along.
Wilshire tried to contact other Honor Guard members through the communicator built into his helmet, but received no response; the communication channel was filled with interference.
He then checked the enemy detection system, threat indicators, and close-range scans, but found nothing.
Wilshire attempts to use the talent inherited from the father of genes to perceive his surroundings.
He soon discovered that he was like an ordinary boy who had returned to his hazy memories.
[Some kind of interference method used by the aliens.]
As Wilshire pondered, he fell into the tunnel, with gravel pelting against his armor.
He felt the Primarch's hand leave his arm, and a calm voice filled his body with power.
"Come with me."
Wilshire quickly followed Ninglu as they proceeded through the tunnel.
Suddenly, the Primarch spoke.
"The enemy is coming."
Wilshire looked around warily, but found no trace of any enemies.
The Shadow of Order remained vigilant; he knew the Father of Genetics wouldn't be wrong.
Suddenly, ripples seemed to appear in his black eyes.
An enemy clad in green armor and wielding a chainsaw sword bursts out from the shadows.
Each of the Green Armored Elven has a yellow rune imprinted on its chest.
The upper part of the rune is an upright triangle, extending out into two curved arcs.
The lower half features a vertical line that cuts through three horizontal lines and connects to the triangle above.
Wilshire immediately raised his bomb gun and fired a bomb at the alien.
The Shadow of Order widened its eyes as the bomb struck the green armor precisely, but failed to inflict any damage on the alien.
PS: "Good Man" refers to Martin Luther King Jr., and "Brother" refers to Robert F. Kennedy, the younger brother of President Kennedy.
