Chapter 222 The Primarch of the Second Legion

Chapter 222 Second Legion Primarch
Nimrod, accompanied by Rosicky Cech and Arsène Dunn, boarded the frigate.

He said to the master of the furnace, "Inspect the frigate and confirm whether the Geller force field can coexist with the ape force field."

Ning Lu's eyes flashed as he looked out.

His "subspace insight" immediately detected an invisible energy barrier outside the ship's hull.

[The ape force field is a physical energy barrier.]
A moment later, the Geller force field was activated.

[Yes, the Geller force field does not project a barrier to block the intrusion of subspace, but rather projects a space that conforms to the laws of real space operation, enveloping the ship within it.]

The Geller Field is a "bubble" created by psionicists sealed deep within the ship. It envelops real matter, stabilizing the reality around the ship in the ever-changing warp.

Demons that cannot exist in the real world are usually excluded.
After careful examination, Ninglu concluded that the substantial energy barrier—the ape force field—could coexist with the non-energy barrier, the Geller force field.

Such an energy barrier should consume energy.

The ancient sages' method of fusing technology and psionic energy is truly unique; the ape force field consumes very little energy, not even requiring a reactor like a fortress-level energy shield.
Twenty-nine minutes later, the Master of the Casting Furnace completed the inspection and returned to report to the Primarch.

“Father, I have confirmed that the Geller force field and the ape force field can coexist.”

"The ape force field is a special energy barrier. It cannot withstand attacks from the physical world, but it can withstand the erosion of the subspace."

"I discovered that the ape force field consumes relatively little energy, but it still consumes energy when it is turned on. I think we should study a device to control the turning on and off of the ape force field."

Ninglu nodded. Continuously activating the ape force field was a waste, especially since he could only control two space apes for replenishment, and it needed to be used sparingly.

"You lead the technical sergeants to research ape force field control devices."

"Do your will."

Nimrod sent the space apes onto the main battleship of the Fourth War Group, and brought out another space ape from the "Land of Chaos" with whom he had just established a connection, so that they could begin to build the ape force field.

Upon returning to the Shadow of Reigns, the Primarch decided to launch a new offensive, he told Arsena.

"Initiate a new offensive, with the Second, Eighth, and Ninth Armies attacking Planet Eight, and the Fourth and Eleventh Armies attacking Planet Four."

"The Fifth Regiment will take over from the Ninth Regiment to guard the Battle Moon, while the Third Regiment will return to Mordian for rest and reorganization."

"Dispatch half of the First, Sixth, Tenth and Twelfth Regiments to the Wheel of Flames to participate in the battle."

All eight warbands of the Eleventh Legion have been fighting the Orcs and have accumulated combat experience. It's time for the other four warbands to also undergo this tempering process.

After arranging various affairs for the Legion, Nimrod led the Honor Guard to Planet Four.

Two stellar months later, Nimrod received a report that the Second Legion Primarchs had finished their grand celebrations on Terra and had arrived at the Wheel of Fire.

Nimrod returned to the Shadow of the Throne and received Hannibal.

At the obsidian dining table, Nimrod looked at Hannibal across from him. Hannibal was not wearing armor, but dressed in brown casual clothes, like a nobleman from Vostonia.

His short, blond hair was neatly combed to the left, and the corners of his mouth were elegantly upturned like a sculpture, but the glint of a predator lurked in his eyes.

Ninglu shifted his gaze to the crab in front of him; its claws had turned a coral red after steaming.

The moment the chef lifted the crab shell, a savory and fresh aroma wafted out.

Ninglu put the creamy crab meat into his mouth, and it immediately slid down his esophagus and into his stomach, leaving a lingering, tender sensation on his tongue.

The shells of the salt and pepper mantis shrimp are fried in hot oil until they develop hollow patterns, become dry and crispy, and turn white with a hint of red.

The chef peeled off the crispy shell, and Ninglu put the shrimp meat into his mouth. The sweetness of the shrimp meat collided with the spiciness of the salt and pepper in his mouth.

Ninglu savored the delicious seafood from the cradle of the sea, then turned his gaze toward Hannibal.

Hannibal elegantly used his fork to pick up a piece of iron-scaled Kraken steak.

The charcoal fire licked the bone-in steak, the fat bursting into golden sparks under the high temperature, and the myoglobin turned into amber juice, winding down along the marbled surface.

The snowflake-like fat layer around the ribs melts into liquid gold during grilling, while the crispy outer shell encases tender fibers, making it delicate and juicy when you bite into it.

"It's delicious!"

Hannibal's face beamed with an undisguised smile as he spoke in a standard, rhythmic tone.

“I’ve had even more delicious steaks. I’ll treat you to a feast sometime in the future.” Hannibal’s smile was charming, and his High Gothic was impeccable; Nimrod had only ever heard it spoken by Terran nobles.

The Primarch looked at Hannibal, who resembled a Terran nobleman, and keenly sensed a strangeness mixed in with his appearance.

[What kind of meat steak? Is it something a normal person would eat?]
Ninglu narrowed his eyes, his peripheral vision sweeping over Suarez and Erling to Hannibal's left.

Their cheekbones protrude more noticeably outwards, their foreheads bulge more prominently at the junction of the forehead and parietal bone, and their temples show more obvious signs of calcification of the muscle fibers from the angle of the jaw.

Nimrod's peripheral vision also swept over Mads to Hannibal's right; Mads had not yet undergone reformation and was just an ordinary person.

His pupils were grayish, and there were obvious bluish-gray patches on his neck and wrists.

Suarez and Erling clearly ate a lot of aliens during this period.

Mads had apparently eaten something that caused such obvious abnormalities in his body.
Ninglu felt a slight discomfort in his stomach, and he didn't touch the steak again, focusing instead on savoring the seafood from the cradle of the sea.

Hannibal and his sons ignored all other foods and ate only the meat of the Ironscale Kraken.

After the banquet, Hannibal elegantly took a white handkerchief from his jacket pocket and wiped the grease from the corner of his mouth.

He folded the handkerchief neatly, even the creases were the same as before.

Hannibal looked at Nimrod and said in a passionate tone.

“Ninlu, my brother, Father and Makado have instructed me to follow you and learn the secrets of war.”

When do we begin?

Ninglu leaned back in his chair, scrutinizing Hannibal.

[His deliberately urgent tone was an attempt to conceal something.]
After carefully examining it for a moment, he thought to himself.

[It is somewhat similar to the wolf king's smile when he hunts, but there are also significant differences.]

Less wild, more craving for food.
Ning Lu's gaze sharpened, and he asked tentatively.

"Hannibal, you seem to be in a hurry."

Hannibal stood up: "That's right, I've heard about the Greenskins before, and now I want to see them for myself."

Suarez, Erling, and Mads stood up at the same time, a green glint flashing in their eyes.

Ning Lu also stood up and spoke.

"Then let's go."

In the Primarch Palace, as servants dressed the Primarch in armor, Nimrod asked Joffre.

"During your time traveling with the Faceless Ones, did you notice anything unusual about them?"

After a moment's thought, Joffre spoke.

"Father……"

Joffre met the eyes of the Father of Genetics, hesitated for a moment, and then spoke.

“I’m not sure, but I think the Faceless Ones did something to the orc’s corpse.”

“They would always show an unusual enthusiasm for me and others after the battle, and they would always talk to us at that time.”

"..."

After recounting the unusual things he had keenly observed, Joffer continued.

"I wanted to find out what they were hiding, but I never found the right opportunity."

“I understand,” Ninglu nodded. “You have completed my task.”

A moment later, Nimrod handed Joffre a bottle of "Arbitrator" potion, taught him how to become an extraordinary being, and then went to the boarding deck.
