Warhammer: Black Emperor

Chapter 250 Golden Garuda

Chapter 250 Golden Garuda

Unlike some Legion's Terran descendants who symbolically assimilate into their Legion's homeworld, Fernus Manus demanded that his offspring be fully integrated with Medusa.

Despite his lingering affection for "Stormwalker," Storm General Amadeus Ducaine eventually came to terms with it.

However, some people of Terran still resisted the huge changes, especially after being forced to go to the various clans of Medusa, which led to ideological conflicts.

Manus ruthlessly suppressed the rebels with thunderous force.

Just as he did not directly rule the clans, he swiftly swept away any tribes that resisted the rules he established.

Manus returned to Medusa IV to deal with the eleventh stellar day of the few stubborn Terrans, while the altars of Adams and Gabriel were simultaneously completed.

To facilitate the storage of the relics excavated from Medusa, Nimrod entrusted Gabriel with the first capital ship built in the Triken system.

Gabriel named it the Solagu to signify his friendly relationship with the Steel Hand.

He traveled with Ducaine to the Solago clan to learn about the Medusa people.

Adams of the Graveyard and Gabriel of the Solagoo began their ceremonies at the same time.

"The Black Emperor of the Shadow of Order"
The mysterious ruler of a disordered kingdom
The King of Light and Shadow who rules the rules.

……

I pray for Your watchful gaze.

……

"The Iron Laws of the King, the foundation of a disordered kingdom, please transfer your power to my incantation."

As they recited it for the third time, black mist rose out of nowhere and engulfed their bodies.

When the two came to their senses, they saw the Father of Genetics sitting on the throne.

Adams looked around curiously, waiting for the father of genetics to speak, thinking to himself.

[The Black Emperor is another title of my father. Like the king of Vostonia, whatever he is called, he is the father of my genes.]
Gabriel was chosen from a young age and received an education in the truth of the Empire.

Later, due to his displayed talent in mechanics, he was selected as a technical sergeant and sent to Mars for training, where he came into contact with the belief of the Mechanicus in the god of machines.

The Imperial Truth and the belief in the God of Machines clashed.

[From what I have seen, the knowledge of the Technologists and Sages of Mechanics is not bestowed, nor is any ability truly bestowed by the God of Machines.]

This once convinced me of the imperial truth promoted by the emperor.

But after the father of genetics bestowed upon me extraordinary abilities, I became increasingly skeptical of my own ideas.

The ability to gain powers by drinking the potion cannot be explained by science.
Gabriel looked around at the mysterious land shrouded in black mist.

[The mysterious space is even more difficult to explain with science.]

Other legions, including those whose Primarchs returned such as Horus, did not receive a wide variety of magical abilities from the Astartes; only the Shadow of Order was granted.

If the father possessed divine power, then everything could be explained.
As Gabriel pondered, Nimrod sensed his own spiritual depletion, comparing it to when he had faced Alsena Dunn.

[At the same time, people within the galaxy are drawn into the fourth layer of space. The consumption of spiritual energy increases proportionally with the increase in the number of people, without accelerating the increase.]

My spirituality can sustain about thirty-three, and for more than an hour at a time.

Intragalactic legion high-level meetings can now be held, while intergalactic meetings require further spiritual advancement.
After reaching his conclusion, Ninglu said, "You stay in Medusa. If there are any urgent or confidential matters that need to be reported, then use the ritual procedure we just went through to pray to me."

"Today is the first time, let's begin."

The Death Lord was prepared and began with a briefing.

"Father, the Fourth Battle Group received two rounds of new recruits during the 'Wheel of Flames' campaign, and now has a total of 5,416 men."

"The 1,084 people from Necromonda, who were raised in the culture of the dead, quickly integrated into the warband."

"The 2,347 new recruits from other worlds are taking longer to adapt to the warband culture. I have arranged for royal monks to help them."

Ninglu nodded slightly, understanding the Death Lord's meaning: Adams hoped that the Fourth Legion could use Necromonda as a recruitment world, just like the Third and Seventh Legions.

However, he had other plans for recruiting soldiers for the Fourth Legion; Bosur in the Extreme Starfield was the most suitable world for the "Death" pathway.

Posur is a world of darkness, where local tribes have developed a unique culture of the dead.

It is the home world of the "Ascetic Chapter," which was born during the Second Founding of the Army. The Astartes, having absorbed the customs of primitive tribes, meditate before battle.

The ascetics enter a death-like trance, communicating with their Primitives and ancestors in search of power and wisdom.

There's no rush to divine the location of Bosur; that world will only be discovered by Sasebo Tezuka after the Horus Rebellion, and the chapter monastery will be established.

Necromonda has a large population, which is enough to temporarily meet the recruitment needs of the Fourth Army.

Now, I should be divining the undiscovered world of forging that I know of, or perhaps preemptively "hijacking" those soon-to-be-discovered STCs and exchanging them for benefits with the Cult of Mechanics.
Thinking of this, Ning Lu spoke up.

"I will find the most suitable recruitment world for your warband."

"The Fourth Chapter can recruit on a large scale in Necromonda. I will inform Arsenal to stop recruiting new soldiers for your chapter in other worlds."

“Father,” the Death Lord addressed him as always, “I will obey your will.”

After the Necromancer Lord finished his briefing, Gabriel immediately said, "My lord, Medusa's Iron Father is undergoing mechanical modifications."

"The joint development has been temporarily suspended. Apart from learning about the local culture in the Solagu tribe, my main research subject is the golden Garuda."

"I tried various methods, including the common method of electrically charging the machine to activate the golden mechanical bird, but it didn't respond."

Ninglu nodded slightly, recalling the situation of the Burner in his mind. Niyadra Zata was a star god whose body was engulfed in flames.

The Burner revealed to the Necromancer of the cosmos how to enter the Web Path using the Tombstone Gate, because He wished to bring terrible flames into the Web Path.

He is known as the most cruel star god, who gloats when everything is consumed by flames.

Ning Lu's gaze was deep, and he thought to himself.

He is made of fire, and He finds satisfaction in the burning of fire.

The Star God fragments I obtained also reflect the aspect of fire.

Those golden Garudas are similar in shape to the fragments of the Star God; activating them should start from that point.
Thinking of this, Ninglu said, "Drench the golden Garuda's body with promethium and ignite the flames."

"After that, we will experiment on the runes on its body."

Gabriel frowned slightly; this was completely different from the teachings he had received from the Cult of the Machine God.

It's not about awakening the machine's soul.

It was different from the mechanical principles he knew. Flames could melt metal, so how could they become a key to awaken the golden Garuda?

[The Father is God; He cannot be wrong.]
Gabriel, having thought of this, spoke up.

"Father, I understand."

After the meeting, Gabriel watched the black mist disappear.

With some doubt, he ordered his servants to bring the golden Garuda to the isolated H-106 deck of the Soragu.

The deck area designated H was designated by Gabriel as the experimental deck for conducting experimental research on mechanical objects with limited understanding.

Following his orders, the technical sergeant implemented a series of safety measures on these decks, including fire-fighting measures.

Immediately, a can of promethium was poured over the golden Garuda.

Gabriel operated the flamethrower, spraying flames at the golden metal body.

Gabriel was astonished to see the flames engulfed in an instant, and a rune on the golden Garuda's body glowed faintly.

[This... the flames are actually the key to unlocking the golden Garuda.]

No wonder the Medusa people didn't discover it; without the teachings of the father of genetics, I would never have thought of it.

Praise the Black Emperor!
Gabriel immediately ordered his men, "Bring ten barrels of promethium."

As Gabriel made progress in his research on Garuda, Manus also purged the stubborn Terran faction within the Stormwalkers.

The six Relic-class warships that arrived in the Medusa system were ordered by Ninglu to proceed to the Vostonia system.

After being fitted with ether cannons, they will be transferred to the 11th and six other battle groups that do not yet possess Relic-class warships.

The Imperial fleet then set sail for Terra.

On Terra, the conman Tierney learns that Lord Nimrod is about to arrive to attend the triumphant celebration.

"It's time to close the net. The most greedy nobles on Terra have already taken the bait."

P.S.: Some people say that the Shadow of Order knows that the Primarch is the Black Emperor, and that having two faiths would affect the sacredness of the Primarch. I'll briefly explain.

Knowing full well that the object of faith is one, does it become the worship of two gods simply because of different names?
After the Stormwalkers embraced the Medusa culture, they believed that Primarch Fenus Manus was a demigod and began to call him the Gorgon of Medusa.

Could two titles mean they are two demigods?

Nurgle's followers, who call Nurgle the father of the plague, do not worship two gods.

Similarly, in the mystery, the Eternal Sun is honored as: Eternal Sun, Undying Light, Incarnation of Order, God of Contracts, Guardian of Commerce.

His followers praise his name, but they do not worship five gods at the same time.

In fact, it's the other way around; the four chaotic gods often present themselves in different guises to attract believers.

Slaanesh's followers are those who strive for the ultimate in everything. To scholars who pursue the highest knowledge, he will appear as the god of knowledge.

Musicians, painters, and sculptors are presented as gods of art.

For nobles who pursue pleasure, she would present herself as a thirsty lady.

Ultimately, did their faith all point to Slaanesh himself, providing him with power?

Mutants worship the God of Change, and scholars worship the God of Knowledge. Even when completely corrupted and knowing His name is Tzeentch, they will not come to worship two gods.

When Khorne attracted those generals to his faith, it did not affect his so-called sacredness by letting them know that he was the god of warriors, the god of courage, and the god of war.
