Warhammer: Black Emperor

Chapter 394 "The Wizard"

Chapter 394 "The Wizard"

Thomas's consciousness swept across the surroundings, alerting the soldiers of the 5th Company of the 3rd Regiment.

"12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 9 o'clock direction."

The Shadows of Order raised their bomb guns and unleashed a barrage of bullets at the Hearthblood warriors.

The diamond projectile struck the energy cloak formed by the shield-weaving technology and was then deflected by the deflection field and bounced off the rock wall.

Boom boom boom!
The "wizard" pressed a tube of powdered ammunition into the archaeological pistol.

He infused his spirituality into it and pulled the trigger.

The "wizard" previously determined through experiments that the ancient weapon, capable of firing all kinds of ammunition, is neither resistant to psionic materials nor to spiritual materials.

The powder exploded at the three o'clock position, and the blue powder was thrown in all directions by the impact, causing the energy cloak to sway like water mist.

The Shadows of Order immediately raised their bomb guns and fired a barrage of explosives at the Furnace Descendants.

Amidst the roar and explosions, several Shadows of Order and Furnace Descendants fell simultaneously.

The "wizard" then fired a projectile made of spiritual material at the twelve o'clock and nine o'clock positions.

The spiritual materials were given to him by the Black Emperor after he became a wizard.

"Wizards" use their abilities to study them and create various potions and bullets.

When a "wizard" casts a spell, it cannot be done with a single action.

Even the simplest spell requires three steps, the first being to concentrate one's spiritual energy.

Just like psionicists use magic, "wizards" need to expend spiritual energy.

Secondly, one can visualize the symbolic representation of the corresponding spell in one's mind, or one can recite the incantation aloud instead.

Skilled wizards tend to visualize their techniques in their minds, making them less likely to be detected.

Finally, the spell is cast using materials; some materials serve as a medium, while others are components of the spell.

A wizard's strength is directly determined by the number of materials he possesses and the corresponding quantities of those materials; otherwise, even if he masters magic, he cannot cast spells.

The blue powder comes from the Crystal Realm. It is made by crushing energy crystals and refining them with spirituality, similar to the method used by psychics to create psychic items.

When the Black Emperor handed over the spiritual materials to him, he marked each one.

The "wizard" raised his hand and fired a blue bullet in each of three directions, covering the Hearthborn in a cloud of flying powder.

The shadow of order and the exposed furnace race clashed with each other amidst the roar of gunfire.

Explosions roared, and more and more Furnace People and Shadows of Order fell.

The "wizard" pulled a vial of potion from the chest of his power armor and sprinkled it on himself.

The black armor vanished like mist, disappearing from everyone's sight.

The "wizard" quietly approached the group at the nine o'clock position. When he was twenty meters away, he took out a dark red potion from his waist and simultaneously activated his spiritual power.

The "wizard" sketched the symbolic representation of the Black Emperor in his mind: first, disordered black arcs, then the surrounding wings, and finally, spikes and an abstract crown above.

The "wizard" then sketched the fire dragon runes of the Eldar in his mind.

After being promoted to "Wizard", he combined the ritual magic he had once mastered as a "Secret Seeker" with spells.

By first outlining the symbolic representation of the Black Emperor, the "wizard" can then draw upon a portion of the Black Emperor's power to unleash spells.

After outlining the fire dragon runes, the "wizard" tossed the powder away.

That was a potion he made by mixing the skin and flesh of the fire lizard from Nocturne Star with black ore. The spiritual energy ignited the dark red potion, and flames roared to life.

Some of the Hearthlings smelled a familiar scent—the scent of lava they had encountered when they ventured deep underground to mine ore.

Thomas found their Voidsuits burning fiercely, but they didn't fall.

The information issued by our Lord mentioned that the Void Suit of the Space Dwarves is forged using a gold alloy, which has extremely strong resistance to various extreme environments.

However, since one potion wasn't working well, I have more.
The wizard didn't linger for a moment. In his concealed state, he moved around the Hearthborn in another direction, took out a silver potion, and flicked it out.

A series of crackling explosions rang out, and a ball of silvery-white lightning struck more than twenty Hearthkin descendants on the head.

Amidst the roar, a dozen or so Hearthborn lay dead on the ground, their white beards charred black, smoke rising from their heads. Several other Hearthborn, however, remained standing due to their resilient bodies.

Some of the silver potion drifted and touched the dark red potion.

The two drugs collided, immediately triggering a chain reaction.

A large ball of deep red flames rose into the air, engulfing several Hearthborn.

A flash of silver lightning tore the Hearthborn's body apart.

The Hearthlings raised their bedrock-type bomb guns and fired in the direction from which the powder was coming.

The "wizard" had already left his previous position. After sneaking several meters, he took out another bottle from his waist and scattered invisible powder.

Woo!
A fierce wind arose out of nowhere and swept towards the furnace descendants.

The hurricane howled, lifting up a dozen or so Hearthlings and hurling them upwards, slamming them hard against the rock face.

The furnace-born soldiers twisted their bodies and unleashed a barrage of bullets.

They nervously looked around, searching for enemies lurking in the shadows.

The "wizard" took the largest bottle from his waist, which was as big as the palm of his superhuman body.

The powder in the bottle comes from the Kraken of Fenris, refined from a mixture of their hard flesh and bones.

Spiritual energy was infused into the powder, and with a crackling sound, the powder instantly turned into blue mist.

A colossal wave surged into the sky, crashing down on dozens of short-lived descendants.

The waves carried the Furnace Creepers through the excavated tunnel, hurling them against the rock walls.

Several Hearthlings crashed into the rock face, their helmets shattered by the force of the impact.

Their heads slammed against the rock wall, stars flashed before their eyes, and they fell unconscious.

A dozen or so of the furnace descendants were thrown off balance by the waves and slipped and fell into the water.

They tumbled and spun in the water, extending their bedrock-type explosive guns in an attempt to hang from the rocks and bring themselves to a stop.

The "wizard" swiftly used spells to kill the short-lived race, at the cost of rapidly depleting his potions.

At the same time, he also felt that there were signs of dissolving in his body.

Thomas, with his previous experience as a "mysterious seeker" and a "fighting scholar," knew he was gradually mastering the power of a "wizard."

In the 10th Sun Month of 849, the "wizard" ran out of all the materials he had prepared.

He joined the arduous battle, holding an archaeological pistol in one hand and a power sword in the other.

Thomas joined the Third Warband in their assault on Hearthburg.

As a perceptive shadow of order and a psychic, the concept of silence does not exist for him.

He was constantly surrounded by a deafening roar of chaotic thoughts until he grasped the new mindset of Thelma, which gave him the opportunity to choose and exclude useless thoughts.

Upon arriving at the center of the galaxy, Thomas did not encounter any similar problems.

Conversely, even if he actively tried to read the space dwarf's mind, it would be difficult to achieve.

They are like hard stones.

Thomas gradually ascended to the third level of Magnus's state of mind, and the world around him suddenly became incredibly clear, with every detail almost blinding.

All the tiny fragments intertwined and overlapped to form a cohesive structure, leaving a bright vortex trail behind the Hearthborn.

A heavy hammer crashing through the air was exceptionally clear in Thomas's mind.

Thomas raised his power sword to meet the short-haired man's arm, as if the man had deliberately run into him.

The charged blade pierced the Void Armor, and the disintegrating force field tore apart the short-lived creature's body.

After a long and arduous battle, the Third Squad gained the upper hand in the D-1510 system. Thomas then boarded a ship and returned to the Skot system to report to the Primarch.
