Warhammer: Black Emperor

Chapter 410 Peturabo: Now that it's been built, it can't be wasted.

Chapter 410 Peturabo: Now that it's been built, it can't be wasted.

Nimrod confirmed that the plasma gun in Fricks's possession was a weapon personally manufactured by Peturabo.

He also keenly noticed that Peturabo's face was gloomy, radiating a feeling that kept strangers at bay.

There was no suppressed anticipation of receiving praise after a gift was given.

[That's not quite right. Given Peturabo's personality, shouldn't he be suppressing his desire for others' approval right now?]

Where is the mistake?
Plasma weapons...it can't be...]
A thought flashed through Ninglu's mind: each of the participating battle groups was equipped with a certain number of Aita-Kahn type plasma guns.

[Could it be that Peturabo saw the plasma guns they were equipped with, and that his supposedly unique technology was now in the hands of others, so he didn't want to "humiliate himself"?]

My depression has flared up again. Not only did she not give me any gifts, but she also became unhappy.

No! Peturabo, since we've already built it, we can't waste it.
Upon realizing this, Ninglu immediately said, "Petulabo, you made these two guns in Fricks's hand, didn't you?"

"I think only you could create such a perfect firearm. Its exhaust port is smooth and unobstructed, and its heat dissipation performance is excellent..."

Peturab looked at Nimrod, his words aptly highlighting the ingenuity of the plasma gun he had forged. His admiration was evident on his face, and the curve of his lips was just right...

All the data shows that Ninglu's praise was heartfelt.

Peturabo's icy blue eyes suddenly lit up, and his electronic dreadlocks swayed smoothly.

[That's true. Even if Ninglu could replicate it, it wouldn't be as good as the many unique improvements I made to the Skotian model.]

I put a lot of effort into these improvements; the Eta-Kahn type is more stable and more powerful than the Imperial's.

I created it myself; its stability is 50% higher than the Eita-Kahn type, and its power is four times greater.
Peturabo confidently thought: [Only I, Peturabo, can accomplish such an improvement!]
Thinking of this, he said casually:
"These two guns were made casually by me. Since you like them, I'll give you one."

“Magnus…” Peturabo hadn’t finished speaking when Nimrod reached out and took a plasma gun from Fricks’s hand.

Fricks only saw a black shadow flash before his eyes, and his hand suddenly felt light; the plasma gun had already fallen into Lord Nimrod's hands.

Perturabo paused for a moment, like an artist who had been overlooked but suddenly received praise from a connoisseur, and then smiled at Magnus.

"If you like it too, I'll give you the other one."

“Perturabo, I am certainly happy to receive your gift,” the red-skinned cyclops said.

He took the plasma gun from Fricks. "Thank you for the gift."

Magnus then looked at Nimrod, “Today is my first time riding in the Skyhawk shuttle. Its elegant shape immediately reminds me of the Imperial Eagle.”

"Throughout the flight, it was smooth and comfortable, and the view of the dome was wider than that of the viewing window."

Magnus was not praising insincerely. Although his consciousness expanded and he entered a state of etheric travel that allowed him to see the entire planet, appreciating the scenery through a single eye was a different kind of artistic experience.

“It’s indeed good, but it still bounces when it encounters airflow. The flow stabilizer can be improved, and its performance can be improved by at least 30 percent,” Peturabo said in an engineer’s tone.

Ninglu's eyes lit up, and he immediately seized the opportunity to say, "Petulabo, I think you can write down your suggestions for improvement. It's a piece of cake for you."

“My team of technicians may need hundreds or thousands of years to find the method.”

“Okay, that won’t take me long,” Peturabo said with a smile.

“I will provide you with comprehensive improvement suggestions for the Skyhawk shuttle. The performance of the standard version will be increased by 25%, and the version suitable for us will be increased by 54%.” Fricks, with his hands empty, looked curiously at his genetic father.

[My father seemed very different from usual. He wasn't as serious; he seemed relaxed and...happy.]
Perturabo felt Frick's probing gaze, his smile vanished, and he asked curiously.

“Ninglu, along my journey, I have noticed that the weapons your men are equipped with are similar to the short-man’s Aita-Kahn type plasma gun and bedrock type bomb gun.”

"Your descendants tell me that this technology originated from you. How did you acquire their technology? Did you also dismantle their weapons?"

Upon hearing this, Ninglu's thoughts raced. Wotan and his "equivocation" were secrets he couldn't tell Peturabo.

No one will ever know the truth, because it has long been "buried".

He replied to Peturabo with the same words he had used to answer Lord Grimnir's questions.

“That’s right, I know every single detail about them.”

“I see.” Peturabo nodded, lost in thought.

[His perception of the Shadow of Order is keen; Nimrod's keen perception should not be limited to other creatures, but he should have mastered every part of it.]

This is copying; it doesn't involve understanding the technology used to create them.

However, it's sufficient for replication, unlike my grasp of the manufacturing principles.
Ninglu sensed that Peturabo, as he had been guided, was thinking about the aspects of the talents that the old man had bestowed upon him.

He had previously misled Lord Grimnir into believing that he, like the deceased Chief Lord Grimnir, was a technology-based psionicist, both times "misrepresenting the truth."

Seeing that Peturabo had received an answer, Magnus glanced at Hathor Matt and asked Nimrod.

“I discovered in the D-1519 galaxy that the clan that controls the area, though relatively new, has a history of at least several thousand years.”

"Ninglu, have you discovered anything?"

Ninglu nodded slightly. "Of course, Hathor and I have uncovered some knowledge about the Wotan Alliance."

"The Skots, also known as the Wotan Alliance, are mainly composed of two groups: the Short-blooded and the Iron-blooded..."

In order to elevate Hathor's standing in Magnus's eyes, and at least ensure that he surpasses the other Temple leaders besides Azek Ahriman, Nimrod will share much of the knowledge he has gained in Wotan with Hathor and allow him to tell Magnus.

The more Magnus trusted Hathor, the more profit he could extract from the "Thousand Sons".

Magnus's eyes sparkled as he immersed himself in knowledge, satisfying his curiosity while naturally memorizing it.

Peturabo quickly absorbed Nimrod's words into his memory, stored them away, and would recall them when needed.

Ninglu keenly noticed that Peturabo's attitude had clearly changed compared to when the war was being planned.

He started asking questions from time to time, unlike before when he would remain cold and withdrawn.

Magnus was naturally even more curious and asked a series of questions.

The exchange between the three Primarchs lasted for five days until the representatives sent by the Cult of Mechanics and Macado arrived in the Skot system.
