Warhammer: Black Emperor

Chapter 814 I will preserve the fruits of your civilization and offer them to my Lord.

Chapter 814 I will preserve the fruits of your civilization and offer them to my Lord.
The Shadow Stormbird landed silently, and Lord William Wood of the 12th Regiment stepped off the deck.

Beside him stood a figure even more elegant and tall than the Aiven, holding a gleaming spear in his right hand.

William gazed at the horizon, at the rolling white torrent.

Tens of thousands of snow shrikes flew toward Crow Nest No. 93. The Black Emperor launched a swift offensive, causing the enemy forces at Phoenix Cliff to pour out in an attempt to keep the deity out.

William's lips curled into a slight smile as he looked up at the sky.

The only city of the Aivens, like their crow's nest, was nestled in the rocks.

The tower is interspersed with scaled-down residences, workshops, and various facilities, forming a complex maze together with underground passages within the mountain.

Obsidian, a prophetic psychic, had a glint in her eyes. Even if Astartes launched an attack in such a complex environment, it would face numerous difficulties.

This elegant city of art will be reduced to ruins in the street fighting.

But William had a plan: he would fulfill the Black Emperor's oracle and preserve the Phoenix Court of the Aven.

The "Puppet Master" turned to the side, activated the "Spiritual Threads" vision, and looked at the prophetic puppet connected to him.

The Black Emperor helped him on the Eldar ark, Mag'silas, by creating a marionette made by the most powerful prophet.

“It would be my pleasure to serve you.” The Prophet’s Puppet bowed and spoke in a slightly awkward but elegant Eldar accent.

After she stood up, she raised her elegant arm, extending her left hand towards the mountain peak.

William looked around uneasily as the surging warp tide rolled in.

He had never seen anyone mobilize such vast amounts of subspace energy.

The Black Emperor is a deity who walks among humans, and is not among them.

The Emperor and Magnus might have been able to, but he never witnessed it firsthand.

William looked up at the sky, where the wind and snow drifting through the Antarctic region, interspersed with hail and solid ice, suddenly burst open and spread into thick fog.

The fog is not pure water mist; it is mixed with psychic energy, which is why it appears as a misty haze.

The heavy fog pressed down, enveloping the entire city and shrouding the mountain peaks like a veil.

William gazed at the supernatural mist that had formed and silently opened the warband's communication channel.

"Attack!"

Among the landing Monarch-class landing ships, the captains of the "Diviners" took the lead, holding divination sticks in one hand and infusing them with spiritual energy, while wielding explosive pistols in the other, directing their combat comrades forward.

William stepped forward, his vision unaffected by the prophetic psychic's gaze.

He saw the "Joker" commando team, shrouded in psionic mist, rapidly approaching the fortress at the foot of the mountain.

The "clowns" leaped into the air, nimbly flipping in mid-air, and slammed the fortress with molten metal bombs.

The Joker continued rolling and falling, leaving the fortress behind.

Boom boom boom...

One after another, towering bunkers rose into the sky, and fireworks rippled through the mist.

The "magicians" leaped through the fireworks, rapidly ascending to the mountainside in an instant.

They swiftly charged into the panicked ranks of Evan's warriors, the flashes of lightning claws tearing through the tight lines.

The Aiven warriors frantically searched for the enemy in the suddenly appearing fog, but their vision was limited to a range of only two meters around them.

The Shadow Order's perception range was also limited to a 15-meter radius by the psionic mist, but the divination staffs of the "Diviners" captains guided them in the direction of the enemy.

Before the enemy can react, the Shadow of Order unleashes a deadly barrage of bullets with its bedrock-type bomb gun.

The attack erupted from the rear and flanks of the panicked Aven people, mercilessly taking their lives before they could even see the enemy.

William, the "Master of Puppets," ascended the magnificent Flying Arch without any hindrance, leading his prophetic puppets.

The avenue stretched upwards, ending at the Phoenix Cliff Grand Library that the Black Emperor had mentioned. William could vaguely see the shadows of the buildings at the end, when suddenly countless Evan warriors wearing Hua Yu helmets surged out from both sides of the road.

They stood shoulder to shoulder, head to tail, forming a dense square formation.

William, a prophetic psychic, gazed at the upper area, where the "magicians" had stormed in and torn the leaders and politicians of Evan to pieces.

In this time of crisis, the enemy's elite forces did not appear in the political center, but instead appeared here to guard their great library.

Clearly, the Aiven people highly value their culture, the wealth of civilization accumulated by their race over thousands of years.

[Rest assured, I will preserve the fruits of your civilization and offer them to my Lord.]
William, the "Master of Puppets," gazed at the shield wall formed by the Evan warriors before him, and a thought struck him.

The Prophet's Puppet took a step forward, and the Spear of Chant in his hand spun and swept out.

The gleaming spear burst forth with dazzling light, revealing a tall and elegant figure to the warrior Aiven.

Instead of dodging the attack, they resolutely raised their weapons and unleashed a barrage of bullets at the invading enemy.

William saw the prophetic puppet's slender fingers pluck the strings of supernatural destiny in a way that even prophetic psychics could not comprehend.

Dozens of bullets deviated from their straight trajectories and collided with surrounding bullets.

The deflected trajectory grew larger and larger like a snowball, and the barrage of bullets collided with each other like wasps.

boom!
As the thick smoke from the explosion rose, the Spear of Song flew swiftly to the front of Evan's lines.

bang bang bang...

Amidst a series of explosions, the Aiven were blasted into pieces.

As the Prophet's Wife raised her hand, the Spear of Song spun back into her raised left hand.

The Prophet's Puppet then raised her right hand, and just as her hand reached its highest point, a crackling sound rang out above her head.

William looked up and saw a psionic storm, crackling with blue arcs of electricity, brewing out of nowhere.

The Prophet's Puppet suddenly swung its right arm, unleashing bolts of destructive lightning.

In the silence, the elegant, lightweight black armor exploded into fragments, and the tough bones turned to dust.

William strode forward, his boots leaving the ashes of the Evans imprinted on the scorched road.

As he walked on, the fog gradually dissipated, and the magnificent buildings became increasingly clear.

As the fog completely receded, a silvery-white pyramid-shaped building was reflected in the clear white sky.

The oracle's scan scrolls across the tactical interface:

[600 meters high, 2 kilometers wide...]

William gazed at the pyramid that stood at the heart of the mountain range.

The large library at Phoenix Cliff.

The greatest treasure trove of knowledge and history for the Aiven people.

Prospero's pyramids suddenly came to mind.

Although he had never been to the City of Light—Tizka, many warriors within the chapter, based on a friendly agreement between the two legions, went to the ruins of Prospero to hunt down the Soul Eaters.

They brought back holographic images of the five major schools of thought and the pyramid of Primarch Magnus, and told him about their experiences on the homeworld of the "Thousand Sons".

Similar to the pyramids and the Great Library, and even the shrike, a flying creature, along with Soul Eater Peak...

Everything before him unconsciously reminded William of Prospero.

As the explosions subsided, William collected his thoughts.

[I have fulfilled the Lord's divine decree and preserved the Great Library intact.]
