Chapter 296 The Delegation Arrives, Veela
“Then let me test your skills. Do you know which spells will be punished most severely under wizarding law?” Mad-Eye Moody scanned the group of young wizards, his eyes full of meaning.

Many of the young wizards were afraid of Mad-Eye Moody, but for the sake of credits, some of them still tremblingly raised their hands.

Of course, Hermione, the academic genius, must be among these people.

However, Moody didn't let Hermione answer; instead, he pointed to Ron beside him and asked:

“Come on, Mr. Weasley, you answer.”

Ron was clearly unsure of his answer, and after a moment's hesitation, he replied:

"Uh, yes, my dad told me about a curse called the Soul Reaper, right?"

“Ah, yes, that’s right,” Mad-Eye Moody said approvingly. “Of course your father knew about this spell. It caused the Ministry of Magic a lot of trouble during the war against the Death Eaters.”

Moody walked back to the podium, opened it, and took out a glass bottle from the drawer. Inside, three large black spiders were crawling around.

He took out a spider, and then, incredibly, pointed his wand at the spider and said:
"The soul is out of body!"

The spider paused in Moody's palm, then somersaulted and began to dance.

Yes, this spider is dancing.

Faced with this comical situation, many of the young wizards burst into laughter, but Harry didn't laugh. He looked at Mad-Eye Moody on the stage with a strange expression.

Is this a demonstration of the Unforgivable Curse in front of a large group of junior wizards?
If he were reported, was he sure he wouldn't be dismissed? There was even a good chance he'd be imprisoned in Azkaban.

Many of the young wizards clearly did not realize what this meant; they did not know how evil the Imperius Curse was, and simply found the dancing spider amusing.

Moody glanced at the crowd, his face slightly distorted. He couldn't wait to see how terrifying these young wizards would look if they were controlled by the Imperius Curse.

However, although he couldn't directly attack these little wizards for the sake of his master's grand plan, he could use other methods to see those expressions of fear that pleased him.

Suddenly, Von Yahan Moody pointed his wand at the group of young wizards, then, in a gruff voice and with a ferocious expression, said:

"You guys think this is fun, right? If I did this to you, would you like it?"

Sure enough, as soon as these words were spoken, all the young wizards showed expressions of fear, which pleased Mad-Eye and Moody.

However, his gaze quickly fell on Harry, who was standing to the side of the classroom. Harry showed no fear on his face, but stared at him with an ambiguous smile.

This reminded him of his companions who had been struck by lightning and suffered terribly; the sight of their charred and rotting skin sent shivers down his spine, and he dared not look at Harry again, turning his gaze away.

He was no longer happy; his weakness annoyed him.

Mad-Eye Moody roared inwardly, "Damn Harry Potter, once my master is resurrected, I'll make you pay!"

Suddenly, he froze, realizing something.

His current identity is Mad-Eye Moody, and of course, he is also the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts.

Perhaps he could use his status as a professor to investigate some of Harry Potter's powerful magic.

If they could know more about Harry Potter's mysterious and powerful magic, the Death Eaters would be able to target him more effectively, and their master would be able to defeat him more easily.

A moment later, Mad-Eye Moody continued to demonstrate the three Unforgivable Curses.

He used the Cruciatus Curse and the Killing Curse in front of many young wizards, and after witnessing these cruel spells, the young wizards were even more afraid of him.

After the demonstration, Mad-Eye Moody didn't stop. Instead, he solemnly addressed the group of young wizards:

"The reason why the Unforgivable Curse is unforgivable is because it has no counter-curse. Once it is cast, it will definitely cause very serious consequences."

Of course, besides the Unforgivable Curse, there are other powerful spells in the wizarding world. Do you know what they are?

One of the young wizards shouted, "I've heard of ancient spells! Potter also knows ancient spells, which is why he's so powerful!"

Mad-Eye Moody's eyes lit up, and he secretly gave the young wizard a thumbs up—good wingman!

He used the young wizard's words to extend the conversation to Harry:

"But in addition to the three unforgivable curses, ancient magic also contains great power, and the power of ancient spells is even greater than that of the three unforgivable curses."

Of course, because ancient magic possesses such immense power, the vast majority of it has few counter-curses. In fact, I'm quite curious about ancient magic myself. So, Mr. Potter, could you perhaps enlighten us?

Harry knew what Mad-Eye Moody was planning the moment he opened his mouth.

He simply wanted to gather intelligence on Voldemort so he could make targeted moves.

But under absolute power suppression, what use can intelligence be?

Harry decided to reveal all the spells he had ever used in the wizarding world:

"That's right, I do know some ancient spells, such as the Annihilation Spell and the Lightning Spell."

To everyone's surprise, Harry was completely unprepared and immediately shared the magical information he possessed. Mad-Eye Moody excitedly pressed for details:
"These are all spells that the teachers have never heard of before. Could you tell me more about these spells?"

Harry stared at Mad-Eye Moody for a few seconds, and just as Mad-Eye Moody was feeling unwell and about to give up, he spoke:

“Language alone is too inadequate to allow everyone to clearly perceive the power of ancient magic. How about Professor Moody and I have a duel? You use the Unforgivable Curse and I use ancient magic, what do you say?”

Mad-Eye Moody was inclined to refuse, as he didn't consider himself a match for Harry Potter.

However, this was a great opportunity to gather information about Harry Potter, and he couldn't let it pass, so he gritted his teeth and said:
"Of course, come on, Mr. Potter!"

……

After the Defense Against the Dark Arts class ended, many of the young wizards stared at Harry and Mad-Eye Moody with strange looks.

Harry's clothes were slightly dirty, while Mad-Eye Moody was covered in scorch marks from being struck by lightning.

On the way out of the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, Hermione hesitated before saying something:
“Harry, weren’t you a bit too much just now? Mad-Eye Moody seems to be seriously injured.”

Harry shook his head: "Don't worry, Hermione, he's fine."

Ron, who was standing to the side, also asked with some confusion:
"Why do I always feel that Mad-Eye Moody is somewhat weak, even though he is considered very strong among adult wizards? It doesn't quite match the rumored strength of Mad-Eye Moody?"

"You have to understand, he was the one who sent most of the dark wizards into Azkaban. How could he have accomplished such a feat without immense power?"

Harry marveled that although Ron wasn't very intelligent, his intuition was always sharp, and he would often reveal truths that were not noticed by ordinary people.

But Harry had no intention of letting Ron know Mad-Eye Moody's true identity; it was still too dangerous for him.

Harry said calmly, "Professor Moody probably thinks I'm a junior wizard, so he's letting me have my way."

“Okay, I feel the same way, but is it possible that you’re just too strong?” Ron said, shrugging.

...In the blink of an eye, several months have passed since the start of the school year, and now it's almost Halloween.

This is a special time, as many young wizards not only need to prepare for Halloween, but also look forward to the arrival of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang School at Hogwarts.

After all, once these two schools arrive, the three-way battle for supremacy will begin.

That day, the air was filled with a joyful sense of anticipation.

In class, no one paid attention; everyone was thinking about how Beauxbatons and Durmstrang's men were coming that evening.

After a day of classes, the young wizards, led by their professor, went to the open space in front of the castle.

Many young wizards were discussing how the representatives from the two magic schools would arrive at Hogwarts.

Some young wizards thought they arrived at Hogwarts by train, others by flying broomsticks, and still others by Portkey.

The group didn't have to wait long. Just then, Dumbledore, who was standing in the back row with the other teachers, called out:

"Ah! If I'm not mistaken, Beauxbatons' representative has arrived!"

"Where is it?" many students asked eagerly, looking in different directions.

“There!” a sixth-grade student shouted, pointing to the sky above the Forbidden Forest.

A colossal creature was rapidly flying across the deep blue sky toward the castle, gradually growing larger and larger.

"It's a fire dragon!" a first-year student screamed, too excited to know what to do.

“Don’t talk nonsense, it’s a house flying!” Dennis Crevy said.

Dennis's guess was closer: when the dark, enormous thing swept over the treetops of the Forbidden Forest and was illuminated by the lights from the castle windows, they saw a huge powder-blue carriage flying toward them.

It was as big as a house, and twelve winged horses pulled it through the air. They were all silver-maned horses, each about the size of an elephant.

Soon, the carriage landed on the ground, and the carriage door opened.

A boy in a light blue robe jumped off the carriage and opened a golden spiral staircase.

He jumped back respectfully, and everyone saw a woman get off the carriage. The woman was so big that she was comparable to Hagrid!

However, unlike Hagrid, this woman had a very beautiful face and a pair of large, watery eyes.

Compared to her, Hagrid's work looked far too sloppy.

After the woman stepped down from the carriage, she came up to Dumbledore and extended her hand for him to kiss.

Dumbledore smiled and said, "Dear Madam Maxim, welcome to Hogwarts."

Ms. Maxim replied with a smile, "Dumbledore, I hope you are well."

After Ms. Maxim got off the carriage, more and more young wizards continued to disembark.

There were about twelve or thirteen men and women, with an average age of about eighteen or nineteen. They were dressed very lightly, looked very cold, and were shivering slightly.

Dumbledore suggested they go inside the castle to warm up and avoid getting sick, and they agreed to go inside.

Dumbledore soon reappeared, awaiting the arrival of a delegation from another school.

This time the wait was even shorter, and soon a boat slowly rose from the waters of Black Lake.

A man stepped off the ship, embraced Dumbledore tightly, and smiled:

"Dumbledore, my dear old friend, how are you?"

"Excellent, thank you, Professor Karkaroff," Dumbledore replied.

Then Durmstrang's young wizards emerged from the ship. Unlike Beauxbatons, who wore silk robes, they were all dressed in fur cloaks, which looked very warm.

Once everyone had arrived, Dumbledore led Durmstrang's delegation toward the Great Hall.

After all the students had entered the auditorium and taken their seats at their respective college tables, the faculty members came in and filed to the head table to sit down.

Bringing up the rear were Professor Dumbledore, Professor Karkaroff, and Ms. Maxim.

After everyone was seated, Dumbledore stood up, smiled at the foreign students, and said:
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, ghosts and distinguished guests. I am delighted to welcome you to Hogwarts."

I hope and believe that you will feel comfortable and happy here.

The competition will officially begin at the end of the banquet.

As soon as Dumbledore finished speaking, the plates in front of everyone were piled high with food, just like always.

Some of the foods were ones that even Harry had never seen before; they must have been foods from other countries in the wizarding world.

It's clear that the kitchen fairies have put in a lot of effort to take care of delegations from other countries this time.

Just as Harry was talking with Hermione and Ron, a girl wearing a headscarf suddenly came up to him and stared at him intently.

Hermione pouted, clearly annoyed, when she saw the pretty girl staring at Harry.

Harry was also a little confused. He recognized the girl as a young wizard from Beauxbatons, so he asked, puzzled:
"Um, hello, is there anything I can help you with?"

When Harry turned his gaze to him, the young wizard finally removed his hood, revealing a cascade of beautiful, silvery hair:
"Are you Harry Potter? I'm Fleur Delacour, nice to meet you."

Clearly, this little witch named Fleur knew how to use her advantages. She winked at Harry, puffed out her chest, and stood proudly like a white swan.

She was indeed very attractive, and Ron, who was standing next to her, was completely mesmerized.

Of course, this is not Ron's fault. In just a moment, Harry learned that the little witch had the blood of Meva and that she possessed extraordinary charm.

Faced with a smiling face, Harry certainly wouldn't greet her with malice. He extended his hand to shake Fleur's hand and said gently:

"I am Harry Potter, it's nice to meet you."

Hermione whispered something, very quietly, but everyone around her could hear it.

Clearly, Miss Otter is jealous.

Fleur glanced at Hermione beside her, then looked away.

She's a very cute little girl, but she's still young and hasn't fully matured yet, so she's no match for me.

She continued speaking to Harry...
