Chapter 292 Going to Jerusalem

A man in an expensive suit with deep-set eyes sat on the steps in front of the upscale apartment. Jameson, with his seasoned experience, judged that the man must have encountered some trouble.

A gloomy face is never a sign of good fortune.

Jameson, wearing a black fedora and a black overcoat, looked like a private detective, but his identity today was that of an outdoor reporter covering the scene, and he was there for Peter Parker.

"Hi, are you a resident here?"

Peter Parker, a young man with his head down, saw a pair of shiny leather shoes, then looked up and saw Jameson.

“No, I’m waiting for a friend,” young Peter replied.

"Your friend lives here?"

"Yes."

A hint of wariness flashed in Peter's eyes.

He sized up Jameson, whose attire seemed to tell everyone who saw him what he was there to investigate.

“Don’t be nervous, I’m the editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle.” Jameson handed a business card to the young Peter.

In fact, Jameson was not only the editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper, but also held many other positions. The editor-in-chief position was just the one he held the longest, and the business cards he printed the most were those for his position as editor-in-chief.

"Jameson? Hello."

Young Peter stood up and politely shook hands with Jameson.

When Peter stood up, Jameson realized that the young Peter had a very upright military bearing and was also tall and strong.

"Have you seen this man? Peter Parker."

Jameson took out his phone, showed the young Peter a photo of him, and asked him a question.

Jameson found himself being looked at strangely.

“My name is Peter Parker,” the young Peter said to Jameson.

"What?" Jameson was taken aback.

“Did someone tell you that Peter Parker is here? He said it was me,” said young Peter.

"You mean we've got the wrong person?"

“Yes.” Young Peter nodded.

“The Peter Parker you’re looking for is right in front of you. There is no other Peter Parker,” the young Peter told Jameson.

"You're trying to lie to me, aren't you?" Jameson stared at the young Peter's face, scrutinizing him.

"You must be a supporter of that Peter Parker kid."

"I won't be fooled by you."

Jameson laughed.

"That kid's gotten smarter; he knows to have someone keep watch downstairs now."

"Let me guess, Peter Parker, who's hiding upstairs, already knows the reporters are here."

James looked up at the balconies of the high-rise apartment buildings; any apartment with lights on could be the room where Peter Parker was staying.

“Tell Peter Parker that it’s time for him to face the public. He can’t keep running away and he needs to give everyone an explanation for killing Mysterio.”

"Mysterio? Who did Peter kill?" Young Peter tilted his head and asked Jameson.

“Kid, haven’t you been watching the news lately?” Jameson also gave the young man Peter a strange look.

There are still people on Earth who don't know that Mysterio was killed by Spider-Man Peter Parker; their journalists must not have done a good job.

"Ha~!"

"So that's how it is. You helped that kid because you didn't know what Peter Parker had done."

"Come on, I'll explain it to you properly."

Jameson swiped through his phone, humming a tune, and finally showed the young Peter a news video from the Daily Bugle.

"..." Young Peter finished reading and remained silent. "Say something, or you don't mind if I record something, do you?" Jameson turned on the recording function on his phone.

“Say something…” the young Peter pondered.

“I am Peter Parker.”

"I have to say, Mysterio was a master of deception; he manipulated everyone before he died."

"My brother's killing of Mysterio Quentin Baker was definitely a mistake, but it was also exactly what Mysterio wanted."

"……etc!?"

You mean your younger brother?

"You claim to be Peter Parker's brother? Why are you also named Peter Parker?"

Jameson felt a surge of blood churning in his chest.

He scrutinized the young Peter, and at that moment he seemed to transfer all his dissatisfaction with the young Peter Parker onto him.

"You're the little spider's brother, so you're the big spider?" Jameson wasn't blinded by anger. Instead, he took a step back, distancing himself from the young Peter.

"Brother Peter Parker, you live here, right?!"

"You look so worried because your little brother Peter Parker has gotten into such a big mess and you don't know what to do!"

Jameson transforms into a television presenter, delivering his sharp and harsh criticisms of Spider-Man to the young Peter Parker, belittling Peter Parker to the point of being worthless.

Young Peter took a step toward Jameson, and Jameson took a step back. Jameson's loud questioning was full of force, but his body language constantly revealed his hypocrisy.

Please shut your mouth.

Young Peter reached out and grabbed Jameson by the collar, then with a forceful lift, he easily lifted the middle-aged Jameson up.

Jameson's back slammed against the side of the Daily Bugle's live broadcast van with a thud.

Instead of focusing on Peter Parker, you should pay more attention to Jerusalem.

"You wouldn't dare, would you?"

“If you report even a little bit of news about Judah, your entire company will be ruined.”

“How dare you?” Jameson grabbed Peter’s wrist.

As Peter, the young man, lifted him up, he felt a little breathless.

“If you truly believe you are a courageous person who can uncover the truth, then I will send Peter to Jerusalem, to the West Bank, to the place in the world most severely affected by humanitarian disasters.”

“If you don’t dare to follow, you are a complete coward, a fraudster who talks big but doesn’t act, and a bastard who deserves to go to hell after you die.”

Young Peter spoke to Jameson in a steady tone, as if reciting poetry, and then put Jameson on the ground.

"..."

Jameson's eyes flickered.

Young Peter brought up a taboo topic in their industry, at least in this country.

“You think…you think I wouldn’t dare?!” Jameson shouted at the young Peter, his voice trembling with anger.

"Let Peter Parker go!!"

Who do you think he is?

"The savior?"

"He probably doesn't even know where Jerusalem is on a world map!"

“Peter Parker would never dare to go!”

"He still misses college, wants to be all lovey-dovey with his girlfriend there, and maybe even play some superhero games fighting street crime!"

Earth has experienced alien invasions, the wiping out of half the population by a cosmic tyrant, and numerous devastating crises. However… the internal problems of humanity living on Earth remain unchanged.
