Chapter 114: Son!!!
Cohen took advantage of the lunch break to sneak into Myrtle's bathroom.

It was strange that the Ghost-Repelling Charm that Voldemort left here last time was still effective - or perhaps he had tempted another person to help him.

It seems that... Voldemort is not hiding in the Chamber of Secrets, but hiding among the students.

But no matter what, Cohen had to meet this basilisk relative - it was probably the only one in the Chamber of Secrets now. The original old basilisk would only crawl out of the Slytherin statue in the Chamber of Secrets when summoned by Parseltongue.

It had actually been looking for me the entire time—how pitiful it was, hiding all the way to Hogwarts just to find its blood relative, the Dementor, who had come out of the same laboratory as me...

Cohen successfully arrived at the faucet where the entrance to the secret room was located.

We are back to the problem that we couldn’t overcome before.

How could he speak serpent language to a faucet?

"Oolong out of the cave."

Cohen thought of a method - it was something he should have tried before, but he always forgot.

A jet-black snake emerged from the tip of Cohen's wand. It looked exactly like a real snake and twisted and crawled in the slippery sink.

Cohen had a feeling something was wrong when he looked at it.

"Hiss." (Open)

This time Cohen spoke in serpent language - and after the first time, Cohen could clearly feel the presence of "serpent language" in his blood.

Cohen waved his wand, and the magically constructed snake vanished.

The faucet emitted a dazzling white light and began to spin rapidly - then the entire circular pool began to move, and it slowly disappeared from reality, revealing a very thick water pipe.

"Hiss, hiss, hiss..." (It doesn't seem that difficult...)
Cohen muttered to himself.

Now that the snake is gone, it seems that he can speak snake language - as if a function switch has been turned on for the complex machine that just appeared.

[Ding! Special Ability Unlocked: Parseltongue (9/10)]

The pipe was pitch black, and looked long and winding. Slytherin didn't even want to make the entrance look noble.

It could also be that Slytherin himself could Apparate at Hogwarts, so he didn't need to decorate the exterior entrance and could just make the interior suit his taste...

Cohen got into the pipe, but didn't have the disgusting experience of sliding down the sewer slide.

After becoming a Dementor, it was much easier to dive down the pipe without having to worry about getting covered in mud or accidentally hitting your head on the ground.

Passing a large number of branch pipes, Cohen stared at the main road and floated to the bottom.

Here was a dark stone tunnel, he changed back to his original human form and lit his wand.

The tunnels were littered with rat bones. Hogwarts must have had a lot of rats before, but the reason the castle had never seen an influx of rats wasn't because Mrs. Norris was so hardworking, but because the basilisk worked diligently there.

Cohen even wanted to give it an award - if there were no Voldemort, it would probably continue to work tirelessly as a free rat catcher for Hogwarts instead of turning into a terrifying murderous monster.

When he reached the end of the tunnel, Cohen saw some gray-white broken snake skins. The basilisk in the secret room had not shed its skin for a long time. It was estimated that the next time it would shed its skin would be in the near future, perhaps around Christmas.

There was no movement on the road - Cohen followed the tunnel all the way to a wall with a carving of two giant snakes entwined with each other, and finally heard some movement.

It was like there were two snakes whispering behind the wall, but due to the distance, I couldn't hear clearly what they were saying.

We're already here, it would be a bit rude not to go in now—

"Hiss..." (Open)

Cohen said to the wall.

The two entangled snake carvings on the wall seemed to be alive. They swam and separated, and the wall cracked from the middle, moving, and finally revealing the passage behind the wall.

It led into a long, dimly lit room, surrounded by pillars of stone with coiled serpents carved on them. These supported a ceiling which melted into the darkness above, casting a long, eerie shadow over the room, which was filled with a green and mysterious atmosphere - just like a snake.

Slytherins really liked snakes. Coin could see two souls at the far end of the room.

[Soul Strength: 40]

Both basilisks were present and were chatting away with a hiss.

"Hungry... He asked me to kill someone... But I can't eat..."

A basilisk said depressedly,

"That man turned like stone... He couldn't eat anything... Salazar never mentioned this... He only said that the people in the castle could be seen when his heir arrived..."

"Stupid, I told you you're a country bumpkin and you don't believe me..."

Another basilisk said with dismay,

"You have to stare directly into that person's eyes. The guy turned to stone because you stared at the eyes in the mirror..."

Both sounded male, so it was no wonder Harry thought there was only one monster - if you didn't listen carefully, you really couldn't tell the difference between their hoarse and low voices.

However, just by listening to the content of these conversations, Cohen could tell which one was the old Basilisk and which one was the new Basilisk from the same laboratory as himself.

"Wait... I smell something..."

The new basilisk made a sound of searching—it was crawling towards Cohen's position.

Snapped!
The torches on the chamber's pillars lit up one by one, and the huge room was completely illuminated in a few seconds.

Two giant green snakes rose from the floor, one in front and one behind, staring straight at Cohen—and Cohen stared back at them.

This time, Cohen clearly saw two pairs of yellow vertical pupils - their eyes met - but nothing happened to Cohen.

A force from the blood met the two gazes, and some kind of magic was neutralized, which was why the basilisk could not harm itself or its kind.

[Ding! Special ability unlocked: Death Stare (5/10) (toggleable)]

Damn, does this ability only unlock after encountering someone of the same kind? And why is it only unlocked halfway?
Cohen's face looked a little bad.

Fortunately, it can be turned on and off, so Cohen doesn't have to live a normal life - but the basilisks seem unable to actively control their stares.

And because snakes don't have eyelids at all, their eyes are open all year round and they can't even close their eyes.

The old basilisk was a bit longer than the new one. It crawled behind and looked at Cohen strangely.

This student, who looked like a human, had a similar scent—not strong, but easy to distinguish with its sensitive tongue.

When the Slytherin heir asked him to kill someone, he smelled the scent of this student through the door.

He might be...

The old basilisk said nothing and turned his gaze to the new basilisk.

The new basilisk looked like it was petrified - of course, it only looked like it, because its mouth opened and closed several times.

Just as it was about to speak, Cohen felt as if he already knew what it was going to say.

"Son!!!!!"

The new basilisk said excitedly.

"roll."

Cohen replied calmly.
