Who let this Dementor into Hogwarts!
Chapter 253 The Prediction Was Accurate
Chapter 253 The Prediction Was Accurate
"Voldemort's method of resurrection is not difficult to accomplish."
Cohen looked directly into Dumbledore's eyes and said,
“Nicole said that this kind of magic that reshapes the body only requires the bones of blood relatives, the flesh of followers, and the blood of enemies—the graveyard Voldemort pointed out to me was full of the bones of his blood relatives, his followers Azkaban were plentiful, and his enemies… if the wizarding world didn’t have Stockholm syndrome, most of the wizards in Britain today could be considered his enemies.”
“I anticipated his return; it was inevitable.” Dumbledore nodded. “We need to be prepared and determine the true reason for his resurrection.”
“Hordeal,” Cohen said bluntly.
"..." Dumbledore frowned.
“Voldemort created a bunch of Horcruxes,” Cohen said. “That’s why he was able to resurrect—I found Ravenclaw’s tiara in the Room of Requirement, and it was possessed by a malevolent soul.”
“A Horcrux…” Dumbledore murmured, “It certainly fits his style… Did you destroy it?”
“I need the crown, so of course I’ll destroy it,” Cohen said matter-of-factly.
"So what do you think of Horcruxes, Cohen?" Dumbledore asked softly.
“Nicole explained it to me,” Cohen said. “The essence of Horcruxes is reverse alchemy. It achieves immortality by degrading the soul, a very foolish method—removing emotions from the soul, what’s the point of living? Besides hunger, it’s just a lustful walking corpse, like a dog in heat…”
"Click."
No one knows what happened, but suddenly a sound of grinding back teeth came from the room.
A certain dog felt that Cohen was indirectly criticizing him, harboring personal grudges.
“There’s bad news and good news,” Cohen said. “The bad news is that he has more than one Horcrux. His soul is now shattered into very small pieces, which means he made at least four or five Horcruxes, and possibly more.”
"And the good news?" Dumbledore didn't show much concern or surprise about Voldemort creating a bunch of Horcruxes.
"The good news is I have a fun plan."
Cohen smiled crookedly.
“Although I always thwarted his plans, he was always the one who ran away first, so we are still in a solid ‘partner’ relationship—and this time his backup plan was for me to quickly learn how to make a new body for him.”
Dumbledore understood what Cohen meant and suddenly laughed.
"What are you laughing at?" Sirius looked at Cohen, then at Dumbledore.
"Did Nico teach you?" Dumbledore said cheerfully. "If you have any problems with the materials, I can sponsor some for you—in my own name."
"You wouldn't sponsor me when I made the boxes last time!" Cohen said angrily. "Sure enough, you still only have him in your heart—"
“You didn’t actually spend any money last time either,” Dumbledore said with a sly wink.
"Am I invisible now?" Sirius asked, puzzled. "Why—"
“Once your situation is resolved, I will reassemble the Order of the Phoenix,” Dumbledore said to Sirius. “At that time, I will explain the Voldemort matter to you and the other members as much as possible, so don’t rush it—now… I think it’s time to contact Fudge.”
As he spoke, Dumbledore looked at Cohen:
"I'll leave the rest to you, Cohen."
"What if I miss class because of this..." Cohen asked bluntly.
“I will help you ask the professors for leave,” Dumbledore sighed.
"You're helping me not because..." Sirius looked at Cohen in disbelief.
"how can that be possible!"
Cohen feigned an attempt to put his arm around Sirius's shoulder, but due to their height difference, he could only reach up to his spine, making the movement extremely awkward as he said:
“Harry and I are best buddies. His godfather is my godfather. Of course, I’m not helping you annoy the Ministry of Magic just so I can skip class with a legitimate reason.”
“Oh, I remember now,” Dumbledore said suddenly. “I recall instructing Severus to check on your safety… but it seems he hasn’t been able to return to the school with you.”
“Ah…” Cohen immediately decided to be a good kid and tell the truth, “Yeah—”
“I did it, I knocked him out.” Sirius Black took the blame for Harry. “He’s still hung up on the past and desperately wants revenge—I acted in self-defense. But we have some defensive magic, so he’s safe for now…”
“It seems I’ll have to go and bring him back first,” Dumbledore said.

Sirius was left in the headmaster's office, while Dumbledore led Cohen to the edge of the forest outside the school—"If I'm not mistaken, Fudge should be bringing some Dementors 'bodyguards' into the school," Dumbledore said.
“I’m here waiting to replace his bodyguards, then take over Sirius and stage a fake meeting when Fudge tries to kill him, right?” Cohen nodded. “Don’t worry, they’ll be very obedient as long as I’m there.”
“Cohen, I must say, I’ve always loathed and hated Dementors—but you’ve changed my mind somewhat. If one day, Dementors could stop attacking humans without provocation…”
“Probably,” Cohen said. “I don’t want Rose to get eaten by a Dementor while she’s at work or Edward is at a club event.”
Cohen's meaning is clear—he only cares about his family.
Dumbledore seemed somewhat relieved to receive Cohen's direct reply.
The next second, Dumbledore Apparated away.
He'll probably go and bring Snape, who's still in the Shrieking Shack, back to school first, and then go talk to Fudge about the Sirius Black case.
Given Dumbledore's pace, Fudge would arrive at school soon, so Cohen transformed into a Dementor early and blended into the Dementor horde outside the school.
"I'm not hungry, don't throw these people at me..." Cohen repeatedly refused the kindness of several Dementors—they had all pulled out several Death Eater "emergency food" from under their robes when they discovered Cohen's arrival.
In addition, there were some people dressed in Muggle prison uniforms—Cohen guessed they were "rescued" from Muggle prisons. It seems the Division of Executions made a lot of effort to appease them so that they wouldn't attack others while they were tracking Sirius Black.
After all, Dementors don't go out and specifically target Muggle prisoners to feed on.
Not long after, Cohen saw a chubby figure at the school entrance, followed closely by two Dementors—as if the Dementors were being used as bodyguards.
A toad guardian, the size of a palm, was perched on Fudge's shoulder, protecting him from the negative influence of the Dementors.
"Let's switch places—" Cohen quietly floated over to one of them and said, "I'm hungry."
Upon hearing that Cohen was hungry, the Dementor readily made way for him—because Fudge had mentioned earlier that there was some of their food at the school.
Cohen followed Fudge without incident—because there were large numbers of Dementors floating around outside, Fudge had no idea that the Dementor behind him had been replaced by another one.
Just as Fudge arrived at the school's main gate, he encountered Professor McGonagall hurrying out of the castle.
It appears that Dumbledore informed her in time, and she followed Fudge as a "potential eyewitness".
“Professor Dumbledore has forbidden these Dementors from entering the school,” Professor McGonagall said sternly. “There are students in the castle, Minister!”
“It’s a special time,” Fudge said anxiously, wiping the sweat from his brow. “I have to take some necessary protective measures. You know, Sirius is very dangerous—there are only two of them, and the Patronus will try their best to prevent them from affecting the students—take me to the principal’s office. Fugitives are far more dangerous in the school than Dementors…”
“I don’t think so, Minister,” Professor McGonagall exhaled through her snort.
But she still led Fudge up the stairs on one side of the hall, choosing a path where few students would walk, so as not to frighten the students if the Dementors who entered the castle scared them.
“Miss Greengrass, the Ministry of Magic is in operation. Please do not approach Dementors out of curiosity—” Professor McGonagall sternly shooed away a curious Slytherin girl she encountered on the street, “For your safety—”
The Slytherin student fled in fear, for the Dementors seemed to be moving toward her, as if she were their next meal.
Upon reaching the principal's office, Professor McGonagall said "Lemon Olaf" to the statue. The statue grunted and jumped away, trying its best to move further away from the Dementor.
As soon as he entered, Sirius Black jumped up from his chair at the sound of the door opening.
Before Sirius could utter a single word, Fudge hurriedly waved to Cohen, the Dementor beside him, signaling him to "kill" the man immediately.
"No!" Professor McGonagall gasped, raising her wand to summon her Patronus to stop the Dementors from sucking Sirius's soul, but Fudge stopped her.
Cohen acted swiftly, pressing Sirius down into a chair, removing his hood, and pressing the Dementor's "mouth" onto Sirius's forehead—exactly the scene from the prophecy.
Normally, it involves lip-to-lip contact, but Cohen couldn't bring himself to do it—if it weren't for acting, Cohen wouldn't even need direct contact to absorb souls.
"Play dumb, hurry up!" Cohen forcefully shoved the voice of thought into Sirius's mind, "You're having your soul sucked by a Dementor!"
Realizing what was happening, Sirius immediately made a pained expression as if his soul had been ripped away, then leaned weakly against the chair as if his entire being had been drained.
“It’s a real shame, but there’s nothing we can do, Minerva—” Fudge breathed a sigh of relief, but still maintained a hypocritical air.
