Chapter 278 Does anyone in this family really enjoy watching the Quidditch World Cup?
Cohen couldn't bear to expose this beautiful misunderstanding, and Hagrid had never seemed happier—after all, Aragog was the magical creature that had been with him the longest.
However, when Aragog actually came to the classroom and was demonstrated, the situation was not so optimistic.
“Isn’t it just like the Chimera, all furry?” Cohen chuckled as he spoke to Ron—Ron was already plotting his escape.
“That’s a thorn!” Ron said, trembling. “No, I have to run—will it chase after a fleeing person like a hound?”
"Probably, most animals have a predatory urge," Cohen guessed. "Lions will chase people, but with a goat pulling them from behind, there's not much danger."
"Nobody wants to give it a try?" Hagrid said disappointedly. "Actually, its fur isn't that tough."
"Is it poisonous, Hagrid?" Parvati asked cautiously through the fence.
“Oh, yes, yes,” Hagrid said. “Just watch out for its claws; the rest of its body isn’t poisonous.”
“First it was Chimeramon, and now this…” Some pessimistic voices emerged from among the students.
“Don’t talk nonsense, the Chimera is quite fun.” Gryffindor’s Lavender Brown shook his head. “That goat-headed creature talked a lot like Professor Dumbledore, but it’s a pity it’s gone—I heard that the Chimera was just passing through…”
"Is there really no one here?" Hagrid asked.
“Cohen—” Harry nudged Cohen.
"Why are you pushing me? Go sit down!" Cohen pushed Harry back.
“Aren’t you quite familiar with Aragog?” Harry whispered. “Hagrid said you were the one who persuaded him to come…”
“If it’s ripe, then there’s a chance,” Cohen retorted. “I won’t sit on a spider; I’ve always hated insects—”
"The two of you?!" Hagrid exclaimed in surprise.
Cohen and Harry then realized that everyone had stepped back several paces, and their current position looked very awkward.
It was as if they had volunteered to stand up.
"come on."
"Will win!"
"Live!"
A chorus of encouragement, like spectators watching a show, rose from the crowd.
“It’s over…” Harry groaned.
"Come here," Hagrid said warmly, letting them into the enclosure.
He first scooped Harry up in his arms, then smoothed out the stiff fur on Aragog's back to prevent it from poking Harry's bottom.
“Hagrid, why… is it shaking?” Harry said in alarm.
“Maybe he’s excited—no one has ever ridden it before.” Hagrid then picked up Cohen and placed him steadily on Aragog’s back.
"&*!&^…!$#!"
The moment Cohen possessed him, Aragog immediately jumped up and let out an indescribable shriek.
Its reason could no longer restrain its instincts—Harry and Cohen were shaken to the ground as the giant spider's eight legs moved rapidly, burrowing into the depths of the Forbidden Forest in a chilling manner.
It's hard to imagine how much Aragog must be suffering here. It can smell Cohen's scent constantly mingling in the air, and Hagrid is even inviting students to sit on it—because it can't see, it can't tell who will be the next person to sit on it.
So the moment Cohen touched it, it seemed to suddenly become decades younger and ran away.
“What a tragedy…” Cohen shook his head.
The class was forced to turn into a theory class due to this unexpected event, which relieved almost all the students. Hagrid had originally planned for them to feed Aragog some mutton while he was present.
"Maybe it's just too shy," Hagrid concluded after class. "I should probably have chosen a younger one..."
"Please don't choose this kind of creature for class anymore, okay?" Ron pleaded. "Otherwise, I might have to drop your class, Hagrid..."
“Okay…okay…” Hagrid ruffled Ron’s hair. “I was thinking of helping you change your opinion about spiders…”
“That will never change in this lifetime,” Ron said dryly.

The remaining month or so of this semester went by quickly—because everyone started preparing for their final exams.
Cohen, who claimed to have "special methods for dealing with exams," began monitoring Voldemort's movements through his flesh puppets.
Voldemort wanted to test his current influence—Lucius offered a solution.
There's a Quidditch World Cup in August, which will bring out many Death Eaters in disguise.
Lucius will then unleash the Dark Mark, and loyal Death Eaters will appear and join the sabotage—nothing could be more certain of their allegiance.
At the end of the semester, Cohen passed the exams as usual, maintaining his grades and showing no signs of being "out of the ordinary," just as Dumbledore had warned him before.
Although Gryffindor lost 150 points because of Harry and his friends, their victory in the Quidditch final allowed them to make up for those points, and this year Gryffindor won the House Cup without much trouble.
The students boarded the Hogwarts Express and arrived at King's Cross Station around noon.
“I’m sure I’ll have a happier summer than ever before.” Harry couldn’t stop smiling. “Sirius said he’ll pick me up after my birthday, and if the Dursleys bully me again, he’ll come and teach them a little lesson.”
“You have to be careful,” Hermione warned worriedly. “Don’t let him go back to jail for hurting Muggles…”
“I just need a title,” Harry said. “If I tell the Dursleys that, they probably won’t dare lock up my books and homework anymore.”
Harry's guess was right—he didn't even need to tell the Dursleys, because as they left Platform Nine and Three-Quarters, they could see the Dursleys' faces from afar, their expressions full of suppressed anger but not daring to say anything.
Sirius Black has likely already visited the Dursleys' house.
“If that guy comes back, could you…” Mr. Dursley was whispering something to Edward, “you’ll have to keep him in check—he said he’d turn our whole family into bats if we didn’t treat that kid like a son—”
“Don’t worry, Vernon,” Edward patted Mr. Dursley on the shoulder. “If you don’t mistreat Harry, he won’t do anything to your family.”
“Don’t you have any laws that govern this kind of thing?!” Mr. Dursley growled. “He’s threatening my family!”
“But Britain also has laws against the abuse of minors,” Edward reminded him.
Mr. Dursley shrank back guiltily—even though he was so fat he barely had a neck.
After picking up Harry, Mr. Dursley stormed off.
"What's going on?" Cohen asked Edward. "You've joined the Ministry of Magic? And you're in charge of law now?"
“Getting a job is unlikely.” Edward shook his head. “I can’t get up in the morning now, so I can’t go to work at all. Sirius went to the Dursleys’ house a few days ago and almost got into a fight with them. Luckily, I was home at the time and stopped him, otherwise he would probably be locked up in Azkaban again.”
"He just got released and then ran back on his own? That's quite a life." Cohen clicked his tongue. "For Harry's sake, I'll have the Dementors give him a less drafty cell to prevent joint inflammation..."
When Edward brought Cohen home, he remembered that he had good news to tell Cohen.
“Oh, by the way, our whole family is going to the Quidditch World Cup this summer,” Edward said. “Arnold said he could get us four field tickets—as a thank you for the good work we did for him. That old man with the silver key, he’s been promoted to the Auror’s office, but he’s still a clerk. He keeps asking for a quieter work environment because he’s expecting a baby soon.”
"Quidditch World Cup?" Cohen lay on the sofa, suddenly thinking of a question. "My mom likes to travel, you like Dungeons & Dragons, does anyone in your family like to watch Quidditch?"
“Me?” Mr. Flandre peeked out from the kitchen. “I quite enjoy watching wizards flying around in the sky, like those old witch gatherings…”
