Who let this Dementor into Hogwarts!

Chapter 307 Dangerous Bloodline

Chapter 307 Dangerous Bloodline

The next morning, Ron left the dormitory alone without saying a word to Cohen and Harry.

Explanations are ineffective; teenagers at this age are very stubborn and difficult to persuade.

In the morning, as Crouch had arranged the night before, the Warriors were called to a room on the side of the auditorium for guidance on the first project.

Only Barty Crouch came this time; Fudge was nowhere to be seen.

Before giving his project guidance, Crouch officially explained the Warriors' draft class assignments last night—it only concerned Cohen's group assignment, as he was the only one assigned to Azkaban.

Fleur and Krum were informed by their headmaster last night, and the only one who didn't know was Cedric, so when he heard that Cohen had indeed been assigned as a warrior of Azkaban, Cedric's face was filled with surprise.

“The first project is to test your courage,” Crouch said to the five people surrounding him. “So we’re not going to tell you what it is. Daring to face the unknown is an important quality of a wizard.”

"The competition is scheduled for November 24th. It will be completed in front of the other students and the judges. While completing the competition, the warriors must not ask for or accept any help from their teachers. When facing the first challenge, their only weapon is their magic wand. The warriors will not know about the second challenge until the first challenge is over." Crouch paused for a moment. "During the preparation period, warriors must not attack or harm other warriors in any way."

This rule seems to be newly added.

Cohen raised his eyebrows.

No way, really? They don't think they'd eliminate other contestants just to win, do they?

Is it really necessary to go through all this trouble? It really is a bit of an underestimation of Dementors.

"Because the competition is very demanding and lasts for a very long time, the warriors will not participate in the academic year exams."

The rules were very simple, but that wasn't all. Before leaving, Crouch also distributed a rule sheet to them.

"This rule about not having to take exams must be specifically for the champions of Hogwarts," Cohen chatted with Harry as they left the room. "Those students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang who stayed behind to watch can't possibly take their exams on the carriages and boats..."

"Shouldn't we be worried about the unknown challenges Mr. Crouch mentioned?" Harry felt he was getting used to Cohen's erratic thinking. "How should we prepare for that..."

"Learn more spells?" Cohen said, "like the Spell of Summons or the Spell of Head-Soaking."

“These spells seem…” Harry was somewhat skeptical that such non-aggressive spells could help them.

“Hogwarts can’t teach you any dangerous spells, can it? If you want to learn more advanced ones, I can teach you some evil spells,” Cohen said.

“Um, Cohen?” Cedric, who had been following behind them, caught up. “The one Mr. Crouch was talking about… Azkaban…”

He still seemed to find it somewhat unrealistic—he had originally thought they were all Hogwarts heroes.

“It’s hard to explain, but I was definitely assigned there,” Cohen said. “I have a relative in jail, so that’s pretty much how I got involved… Oh no, the more I explain, the weirder it gets—”

After a brief chat, Cedric left, since they would be rivals from now on—and he was originally the only champion at Hogwarts, even though Cohen had been reassigned elsewhere, there was now another Harry.

Cedric was definitely unhappy, but his good manners prevented him from showing it.

But other Hogwarts students didn't think so.

Aside from Gryffindor, the other three houses weren't exactly welcoming to Cohen and Harry, the two kids who seemed to have tricked the Goblet of Fire into accepting their names in order to gain more fame. Cohen had already experienced what it felt like to have his Dementor identity exposed, and now that "impatience" to kill others was becoming increasingly apparent.

So Cohen plans to ask Nicole again today if she has any methods to accelerate the cultivation of bottled humanity.

Cohen didn't tell Edward and Rose about this, so as not to worry them.

"It's good, at least you won't worry that your parents will be anxious about this."

Inside the wooden cabin in the box, the Earl comforted Cohen.
"You haven't completely become a Dementor yet."

“You’re starting to look more and more delicious to me,” Cohen said dryly.

The count covered his body with his wings in terror.

After getting Nico's notes from the goat, Cohen placed them on his desk and recounted his experiences over the past few days to Nico.

"What triggered the obvious loss of your humanity?" Nicole asked, pacing back and forth within the frame. "Was it that Death Eater's outburst at you? Or something else entirely?"

“It was probably when I started analyzing his emotions,” Cohen recalled. “His emotions were practically bursting out, and that’s when I started thinking about killing him—at first I just thought he had angered me, but then the Earl asked me why I did it…”

"Could it be because of me?" the count said in alarm.

“Of course it’s not your fault, little bird.” Nico waved his hand. “There’s no way to accelerate the development of bottled humanity. It’s very difficult… I didn’t study Dementors much when I was alive.”

“I haven’t seen anything like that with Mick.” Cohen frowned. “It’s even a complete Dementor, and it has no motive to harm anyone once it loses its appetite—if Mick didn’t harm anyone when faced with the wizard’s attacks, then why would I want to kill everyone around me just because I was ‘impatient’?”

“Because you are more than just a Dementor,” Nico said. “You are filled with the blood of dangerous creatures, and that wildness may be the reason why you started to become violent. Just like young children always have a burning desire to fight, your blood is tempting you to hunt and return to your wild nature—of course, this is just speculation. The emptiness of your soul makes your blood more likely to induce you to do things that are not rational.”

“It does sound very fragile,” Cohen said.

"Do you desire to crush the other person with your teeth? Or to devour them like a Dementor?" Nico asked. "Have you ever devoured them before?"

"Usually, they want to eat their souls. In the past, have they eaten the souls of some small animals?" Cohen thought back for a moment, and it seemed that he had only eaten animal souls recently, not many human souls.

"What effect did it have on you, after you consumed the soul?" Nico continued.

“His soul strength has increased,” Cohen summarized.

“And what about another kind of food?” Nicole asked. “Have you ever eaten happiness?”

“I’ve eaten it, but apart from feeling full and having the sensation of eating dessert, it doesn’t seem to have changed much,” Cohen said.

Nico lowered his head and pondered for a moment.

"How about... you find something else to enjoy while you eat?"
