Chapter 327 You only told us to have the warriors deal with the fire dragon, but you didn't say what the consequences would be if it were destroyed.
"But the strange entanglement between the two dragons gave Cohen a golden opportunity!"
Li finally shifted his gaze from the two fire dragons, because the newcomer was beginning a very unusual behavior, leaping and bounding around the original fire dragon.
It looks like a dragon wagging its tail affectionately, or like it rolling over to show affection—no one has ever seen this behavior from a dragon; it looks like something a mammal would do.
The old fire dragon had clearly never seen anything like this before; it seemed stunned.
“Look! Cohen is already heading towards the golden egg!” Lee exclaimed excitedly. “He’s reached the nest, but the Norwegian Spinosaurus’s attention has been drawn to its newcomer—he’s going to succeed! Unbelievable, no one has ever used this method before!”
Cohen had already strolled over to the side of the fire dragon's nest and was carefully examining the golden egg and the other ordinary dragon eggs.
There were seven dark dragon eggs in the nest, their surfaces still radiating the warmth of the dragon's breath.
Now Norber has completely deviated from the original plan, making Cohen less inclined to breed him anymore—Lala has no future for the species, and there's no way to expect two female dragons to lay eggs together.
So if Cohen wants to raise more, he'll probably have to steal as many eggs as possible...
This is a tricky situation—so let's just take them all. Surely not all seven eggs will hatch into female dragons?
After making the decision, Cohen raised the golden egg in front of the entire audience.
"He got the golden egg!" Li said, and before he could finish speaking, another cheer erupted from the audience.
"Roar!!!"
The old dragon spotted Cohen, and when it realized that Cohen had approached its nest and taken an egg, it immediately let out an angry roar, its black wing membranes fully opened, and a ball of flame spewed from its mouth—just what Cohen wanted.
Cohen's next portal opened in front of him, and the fireball carrying a nest of dragon eggs rushed straight through the portal, crashing into Norber's cave in the direction Cohen had planned.
At the same time, the wizards who had been standing by, ready to control the fire dragons to protect the warriors, finally came to their senses and threw several stun spells at the two fire dragons on the field.
Norber was supposed to go through the second portal as Cohen had instructed when it opened, but now he doesn't just want to go back on his own.
"Whoosh—" Norber also spread his wings, blocking many spells for the old fire dragon, and pushed the old fire dragon from behind towards the portal.
"An unexpected incident has occurred!" Li exclaimed in surprise. "Neither of the two fire dragons can be controlled—no—they've run into Cohen's spell—"
"They've completely stormed in—Cohen's spell has vanished—the fire dragon is gone?!"
The fire dragon is gone.
Not only the fire dragon, but after everything on the field settled down, all the spectators and referees could see was Cohen—the nest of dragon eggs was gone too.
"Cohen got the golden egg in record time!" Lee exclaimed incredulously. "But the fire dragon is gone—he took care of it! I wonder how the judges will rate the score... It's amazing, and that spell—I've never heard of that spell before—"
Cohen walked toward the entrance of the arena with the golden egg, where a crowd had already gathered. Edward and the others waved to him. Moody, annoyed, pulled out a handful of Galleons from his pocket and shoved them at Edward from an angle where Rose couldn't see—he seemed certain that Cohen would win this time, so he gave Edward the money he had lost in advance.
"That's amazing." Edward hugged Cohen happily. "No other warrior is as composed as you—I have to brag about this to Arnold now—"
“I’m watching too…” Arnold muttered behind Edward. “Just you wait, when my son is old enough to go to Hogwarts, I’ll definitely show off in front of you!”
“Great!” Rose gave Cohen a big kiss on the forehead. “Excellent, Cohen.”
Herbert didn't speak, but the uncontrollable smile on his face proved that he was also happy for Cohen.
“Go wait in the tent for a while, then come out and see your score—Potter and the others are in there too.” Professor McGonagall smiled and patted Cohen on the shoulder. “You’re not injured; you did a great job.” The group here didn’t seem to care where the dragon had gone; such a loss should be a headache for the Ministry of Magic.
Following Professor McGonagall's directions, Cohen went to another small tent.
This is where the warriors receive treatment. Madam Pomfrey is treating the injured warriors—Cedric is burned, Fleur's clothes are partially burned, Krum is fine, and Harry looks disheveled, but he shouldn't be injured.
"Cohen—are you alright?" Harry jumped out of bed as soon as Cohen came in and rushed to his side. "Did something happen—I heard from the explanation outside..."
“No surprises,” Cohen said. “No, there are surprises—the dragon and its eggs are all gone.”
He and Harry exchanged a glance, both knowing where the dragon eggs and the dragons were headed.
Just as Harry pressed Cohen for details, the other two rushed into the tent.
Hermione, and Ron, who was right behind her.
"You guys are amazing!" Hermione exclaimed excitedly, hugging Cohen and Harry one after the other, her face flushed. "You were fantastic! You were both outstanding!"
Ron looked pale and bit his lip.
“I…” Ron said, “I think whoever threw your names into the Goblet of Fire must have had bad intentions—”
"You finally understand?" Harry said dryly. "It took quite a while."
“I almost thought you transferred schools.” Cohen raised his eyebrows. “It’s been almost a month and no one named Ron Weasley has spoken to me.”
"..." Ron opened his mouth hesitantly, but didn't know what to say.
Hermione stood nervously in the middle, having always wanted the three to reconcile—but now Harry and Cohen's words clearly...
“It’s okay, let’s forget about it,” Harry said suddenly, sounding relieved.
“Huh? No, I shouldn’t have…” Ron said blankly.
“Give me your happiness today as a snack, and I’ll forgive you,” Cohen said.
“Then I’ll give you two days.” Ron grinned, and Harry laughed along.
But Hermione suddenly started crying.
"Why are you crying all of a sudden?" Harry asked in surprise.
"You're all so stupid!" She stamped her feet, tears streaming down her face. "You...you..."
She hugged them again, and then burst into tears.
“What do you mean?” Harry said blankly, then looked at Cohen and Ron as if asking them.
"I don't know." Cohen shrugged.
This was something he truly didn't know; for the first time, Cohen found it difficult to understand a human emotion.
