Chapter 352 Cohen's Darling
Chapter 352 Cohen's Darling
“You need to consider more than just the issue of getting into the water.”
Hermione had fully mastered the banishing charm, so she abandoned the inexplicable "cushion collision race" in the classroom and turned to Harry and Cohen's table, offering a concerned reminder:
"There are also many underwater creatures—mermaids can tame creatures such as Greendylo, the horse-headed fish-tailed sea monster, and the Loba worm... You have to be prepared to deal with them."
"Luckily, Professor Lupin taught us how to deal with Grindylow—ouch!" Harry pulled the choking field mouse back out of the water, only to be angrily bitten by it.
Harry, in pain, threw it to the ground, and the wet field mouse scurried away.
“The Earl will deal with it,” Cohen sighed. “It could have left alive after being used as a test subject for Harry…”
"But what is a sea monster with a horse's head and a fish's tail?" Harry asked Hermione and Cohen, rubbing the red mark on his finger from a field mouse bite.
“It’s an aquatic creature with the front half of a horse and the back half of a fish. There are a lot of them here in Scotland,” Hermione said worriedly. “I’m not sure if there are any in the Black Loch, but I found a lot of books about it in the common room. I can take you to see them after class.”
"I don't know how strong it is, but I don't think it can beat my Basilisk," Cohen said in the tone of a Pokémon trainer.
“I suddenly have a little regret…” Harry whispered to Cohen.
If I hadn't "broken up" with the little basilisk, I might have been able to borrow it from Cohen to help deal with other underwater creatures...

The time before the competition flew by, and soon it was the day before the second event began.
The Warriors' families also arrived at the school ahead of time. Edward and the others breathed a sigh of relief after learning from Cohen that the next project was to go underwater to find treasure—at least it was a little safer than the fire dragon.
"Have you figured out how to breathe underwater?" Edward said. "If not, I can tell you a spell—"
“I don’t even need to breathe…” Cohen said. “That’s not a concern—is the 'Loyalty Mantra' in the house working properly?”
“Of course everything is normal, why are you suddenly asking this?” Edward asked, puzzled.
“Because…” Cohen was about to say what he saw about the future, but looking at Edward’s face, he swallowed the rest of his words, “I’m afraid you’ll encounter something bad—you know, your situation isn’t safe.”
“Don’t underestimate us,” Edward said with a smile, patting Cohen on the head. “If we really get into trouble, your mother and I are capable of protecting ourselves.”
“This is called a flag, you can’t just make one randomly. Look at France if you don’t believe me,” Cohen warned. “Be careful from now on, avoid contact with suspicious people. The fact that Harry and I are in the Triwizard Tournament is definitely not an ‘accident’…”
Cohen also asked about the situation at home during this time, and Edward said that everything was normal and that he and Rose had not been in contact with anyone except Muggles during this period.
Of course, no one pulled their hair.
"Who did you invite to the Christmas ball? The newspaper said your dance partner is a silver-haired girl..."
Finally, Edward asked the fatal question.
"How old is that girl? Which college is she in? What's her name? Is she planning to get married after graduation—"
"Stop, stop, stop!" Cohen had anticipated this and quickly called for a halt. "It's too far—and what I actually invited was a unicorn that had temporarily transformed into a human."
"What?!" Edward exclaimed in shock, his eyes filled with a mixture of confusion, surprise, and bewilderment. "I thought—it wasn't—you..."
This was followed by five seconds of silence.
“Actually, if you like unicorns… your mother and I aren’t…” Edward sighed. “Don’t get the wrong idea!” Cohen said, rubbing his forehead. “It’s just to find a dance partner to comply with school rules—not marriage—I knew you’d think that, which is why I didn’t just pick one out at school.”
"Phew..." Edward breathed a sigh of relief after hearing that Cohen wasn't really going to date the unicorn. "I thought my grandson's species was going to change..."
“Your grandson’s species is probably not human,” Cohen said. “I don’t recommend that you have any unrealistic expectations about this.”
All of Cohen's relatives, except Rose, were very concerned about this, and even Herbert was extremely interested in Cohen's partner—as if Cohen were 41 years old instead of 14.
“I’m still three years away from adulthood,” Cohen replied casually.
Back at the castle, Cohen encountered an anxious Harry.
Harry had already mastered the Bubble Head Charm, which could last for an hour, but in the end he decided to bring Cohen's "Fishbowl Head" with him.
“I could pretend I used the Bubble Head Charm.” Harry grew increasingly uneasy; he had a feeling he'd be too nervous to cast the spell because it was his first time in the lake. “Cohen, could I borrow one of your little pockets? The one that can hold a lot of things—”
“Take it, I won’t need it then.” Cohen waved his hand.
Dumbledore hasn't told him about the competition taking away a certain creature from Cohen's box yet, so Cohen can already guess who will be dragged underwater as "Cohen's treasure".
The second day's competition proved this to be true.
On the morning the second project began, Cohen and Harry arrived at the lakeside, where rows of seats had already been set up, looking like they had been taken from the paddock of the first project.
With ten minutes left before the match, the place was already packed. The referees sat at a table closest to the black lake, which was covered with a golden tablecloth.
Cedric, Krum, and Fleur stood in front of the referee's table.
In this round of refereeing, Umbridge, who was originally supposed to replace Fudge, has left, and Fudge has actually come in person this time. Cohen thinks that it was Umbridge's one point that made Fudge realize a bit of danger, and he is in a state of not wanting to deal with Cohen but having to find a way to get rid of Cohen.
Because Fudge is now avoiding Cohen's gaze, just like Karkaroff.
“Everyone’s here, very good,” Mr. Crouch said fairly, pointing his wand to his throat. “Loud voice!”
"Our warriors are all in position," Mr. Crouch told the audience. "When the whistle blows, the second event will begin. They have a full hour to reclaim what has been stolen from them. I'll count to three—one…two…"
Cohen's attention wasn't on Crouch, but on the audience.
Rose and Herbert are both there, but Edward is nowhere to be seen.
So it really was Edward who was tied up...?
"three!"
As Crouch gave his final countdown, Hagrid from the atmosphere team whistled loudly.
The game started.
