Who let this Dementor into Hogwarts!

Chapter 413 The Badge Arrives Late

Chapter 413 The Badge Arrives Late

After the meeting, just as Cohen had said, Edward didn't tell Cohen anything because he felt it would be dangerous for Cohen to know about it.

"Is it about Voldemort?" Cohen asked.

“…” Edward immediately shook his head.

“Okay, that’s about Voldemort.” Cohen made a note in his notebook.

"Is it about the kidnapping of Harry?" Cohen remembered that Snape had come today—this was the first time Snape had appeared here since Cohen went to Malfoy Manor.

So the fact that he went to Voldemort's side to get information should have already been revealed.

No wonder Rose locked herself in the guest room as soon as she came out...

“!” Edward stared at Cohen.

“Alright, I guess you guys had a meeting about what happened. It was about me infiltrating Voldemort’s group, right?” Cohen sighed. “I guess Mom had a fight with them.”

“Your mother thinks it’s too dangerous for a child like you to go to Voldemort’s side.” Although Edward maintained a neutral stance, his tone clearly expressed his disapproval of the arrangement. “No matter how resilient you are, Voldemort is not an easy person to deal with…”

“This is my own decision,” Cohen said. “You can’t just rely on a Voldemort-on-the-back informant to get information, can you? Snape didn’t even get there on the night Voldemort was resurrected, and he didn’t offer any help before he was resurrected.”

Edward remained silent.

"Furthermore, since the year I enrolled, I've been the only one helping Voldemort," Cohen said. "I was indeed the most suitable source of information, and Voldemort believed that I was a thoroughly evil creature and that I was on his side."

“I’m worried you’ll be influenced by him,” Edward said in a low voice. “He’s seduced one follower after another…”

“If you’re really affected, just punch me. One punch and your soul will be cleared.” Cohen patted Edward on the shoulder. “He can’t give me what I want anyway…”

“…” Edward hesitated for a moment.

What do you want?

"I want my family to live a normal life."

Cohen said,
"We'll live the same life as before, although I probably won't give you a grandchild so soon, so you should be prepared for that..."

"Silly boy," Edward chuckled, giving Cohen a light tap on the head. "If we're talking about grandchildren, didn't you already bring back a little Dementor?"

“You’re definitely talking about the grandson who looks more human,” Cohen said. “But you don’t want to hold Mick, and I don’t want to frighten Grandma…”

“That’s true,” Edward said, but he was clearly distracted, as if he were thinking about something else.

“So, I have to try my best to smooth things over that will affect our normal lives,” Cohen said matter-of-factly. “Kingsley said Dumbledore would support Mr. Crouch to become minister, and if he does less of a fuss after taking office… aside from the Ministry of Magic, then there’s only Voldemort left.”

"Hmm." Edward was still thinking about other things.

"Don't worry, I'll take good care of myself," Cohen said.

On the last day of the holiday, the Hogwarts owls finally arrived with their reading list.

“Two new books, ‘Standard Spells, Level 5’ and ‘Defense Against the Dark Arts Theory’,” Harry said, looking at the list. “Dumbledore has found a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher!”

“It sounds like an old fogey,” Ron said. “It’s the first time I’ve heard a book title as boring as Standard Spells.”

“Well said. Here’s a copy of ‘Me with Magic’ as a reward.” Cohen slowly opened the envelope.

My envelope felt rather heavy—the letter paper shouldn't be this heavy.

And it was bulging, as if it contained some kind of protruding hard object. "Dumbledore isn't going to send me any toys, is he?" Cohen asked maliciously.

Because he didn't tell him he secretly went to see Voldemort? Given the old man's petty nature, that's not impossible...

"What?" Ron asked, puzzled. "What's extra in the letter?"

Harry was also a little confused.

"Ding--"

As Cohen tore open the envelope and turned it upside down, a small, red, shiny object with gold accents fell to the ground.

“The devil’s menstrual blood—the prefect’s badge!” Ron gasped. “I almost forgot, it’s our turn to elect a prefect this year!”

"Sounds like you could help us put those Slytherins in solitary confinement!" Harry's eyes lit up.

Harry might be jealous if Ron were the prefect—after all, Ron doesn't seem as outstanding as Harry.

But if the prefect is Cohen, then it wouldn't be so surprising.

Because Harry knew he couldn't beat Cohen in any way.

"Snapped!"

Fred and George suddenly appeared in their room.

"Do you have any ideas about a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher?" Fred asked. "We saw the Defense Against the Dark Arts book—my goodness—"

"My God—" George and Fred screamed almost simultaneously.

They all saw the prefect's badge that Cohen had just picked up.

"You're a prefect?!" Fred's eyes widened. "How could you betray the organization—"

“How is being a prefect a betrayal of the organization?” Hermione burst in excitedly from outside, waving the envelope, then saw the badge in Cohen’s hand. “Cohen! You got it! I knew it! Me too, Cohen, me too!”

“Because being a prefect means being forced to destroy some of the school’s joys,” Fred said, feigning sadness. “From now on, we’ll have to keep our tails between our legs every time we see Cohen—”

"It's not like I'd put you in solitary confinement for selling quick-fix skipping-school candy," Cohen said, sounding a bit tense. "I'm a shareholder, you know."

“Cohen, as a prefect, you cannot show favoritism!” Hermione exclaimed.

"If we were to sneak out of school for something important, Hermione, would you put us in detention?" Harry asked mischievously.

“Oh—well… I mean…” Hermione said, her face flushed.

"The thought of taking first-year students to familiarize themselves with the castle every day makes me feel weak and I don't want to get out of bed."

Cohen thought about his future daily life and suddenly had an urge to throw this thing away.

Dumbledore finally found a way to control Cohen.

However, this also served as a reminder to Cohen.

If the Ministry of Magic were to be seized, Edward would be the most suitable candidate for Minister—Cohen dreads the thought of going to work, and these good things should be left to a strong, middle-aged wizard like Edward.
