Is the system malfunctioning? Why are there two benevolent side quests?
“Darling, you need to take this to Professor McGonagall.” Umbridge pulled a pink parchment from her handbag, spread it on the table and wrote something hastily, then sealed it with a spell into a small roll and handed it to Harry (without passing it to Cohen).

Hermione looked at Cohen and Harry with concern, hesitating to speak.

Cohen and Harry left the classroom directly.

"Does she think she can scare us?" Harry's chest was still heaving, indicating that he was still angry with this hypocritical pink woman, "a lying, pretentious, disgusting pink toad."

Harry might have been upset if he were the only one in solitary confinement, but it would be different if Cohen were with him.

“She thinks she’s achieved her goal,” Cohen said nonchalantly. “Did you see that smug look on her face? She’s still happy about it.”

"What's there to be happy about?" Harry asked curiously. "You've already mentioned that the Ministry of Magic failed to control the Dementors—shouldn't she be angry?"

“She thinks the Ministry of Magic can finally drop this time bomb,” Cohen explained to Harry. “Now they can pin the blame on me—because I knew about the Dementors’ breakout without the Ministry revealing anything, and given my position, it’s easy for them to spread the rumor that ‘Cohen instigated the Dementors’ breakout,’ putting all the blame on me.”

“Huh?” Harry stared wide-eyed. “Then what do we do—either you say you were just guessing—or…”

“No, my original intention was to expose this,” Cohen said.

“But then everyone will think you’re a dark wizard on par with Voldemort—you’ll get expelled!” Harry said. “No—or I’ll go and say that I told you about it, since I’m a ‘madman’ now…”

“The Ministry of Magic isn’t a monolithic entity.” Cohen shook his head. “The fact that news of the Dementors’ escape hasn’t gotten out doesn’t mean that no one in the Ministry of Magic wants it to get out.”

“You mean… Mr. Crouch?” Harry seemed to realize something.

“Mr. Crouch is just waiting for this explosive news to be told by someone outside the Ministry of Magic,” Cohen said. “No destruction, no construction. The more unstable the current regime is, the faster he can start a new round of emergency elections.”

"Oh!" Harry exclaimed, suddenly realizing, "But why doesn't Mr. Crouch go and spread the word himself—"

“Because he needs a clean chain of interests. If he’s the one who leaked the information, do you think those officials with interests in Fudge will still want to support him?” Cohen said.

“Hmm…” Harry nodded, seemingly understanding.

“But this has nothing to do with toads,” Cohen said, still a corridor away from Professor McGonagall’s office. “She’ll regret trying to be in the same room as me.”

"So that means I can watch the show?" Harry's eyes lit up.

"It's hard to say," Cohen said.

Considering Harry's past relationship with the Basilisk...

Upon arriving at Professor McGonagall's office, Harry handed the letter to her.

As expected, Professor McGonagall's expression was very serious. "Have some cookies, you two," she said, pointing to a box of checkered cookies on the table. "You really yelled at Umbridge?"

“No, I kept my voice at 50 decibels the whole time,” Cohen said.

“Okay, I did yell a few things…” Harry pursed his lips.

"And you also told her that the person whose name you can't even mention has returned, and that the Dementors have escaped from prison?" Professor McGonagall asked.

“That’s true,” Cohen said.

“Hmm.” Harry nodded.

Professor McGonagall took a deep breath, but did not reprimand them.

“You need to be careful,” Professor McGonagall said to them in a worried tone, a departure from her usual bluntness and sternness. “Disobeying Dolores Umbridge’s class could cost you far more than demerits or solitary confinement, especially you, Cohen.”

"Understood, Professor McGonagall," said Coin.

"I understand." Harry was still a little annoyed, but after hearing Cohen's explanation, he nodded stubbornly.

He didn't want Cohen to be seen as being on the opposite side of everyone.

“You will all be in her solitary confinement every night this week,” Professor McGonagall said, “starting at five o’clock tomorrow afternoon.”

“Wait a minute—every night?!” Harry suddenly realized something. “But Quidditch selections—Professor, could you—”

“No,” Professor McGonagall said. “She is your teacher, and she has every right to punish you by putting you in solitary confinement. Remember this: be very careful around Umbridge in the future…”

"Can you make her afraid to keep us in solitary confinement until Friday?"

After leaving Professor McGonagall's office, Harry eagerly turned to Cohen and asked.

“If she’s locked up for even one more day, it’s a sign of distrust in my methods,” Cohen said. “If you have any good torture suggestions, feel free to share them with me. I’ll see if I can use them when I put her in solitary confinement.”

“Well, I have something to say—hmm? Put her in solitary confinement?” Harry asked.

“Yes, that’s how it is in the end,” Cohen said matter-of-factly.

Cohen is now figuring out what kind of "torture" he can inflict to get the highest reward after killing her.

10,000 points...

Could the Ministry of Magic send a few more?
After delivering the letter, Harry instinctively wanted to go back to class, but after Cohen's reminder, they decided not to go back and instead picked an empty classroom to chat while waiting for get out of class to end.

As Cohen had predicted, when they found Ron and Hermione in the crowd after class, their backpacks had already been packed and taken out by the two of them.

"Why did you take so long?" Hermione asked worriedly. "What did Professor McGonagall tell you? Did something happen?"

“No, Cohen and I just didn’t want to go back to her boring class.” Harry took his bag.

“Everyone’s gone crazy over it,” Ron said. “They started passing notes to Hermione and me before get out of class was even over, asking if the Dementors’ escape was true, and if all the prisoners had escaped.”

"What did you say?" Cohen asked, somewhat curiously.

“I said I believed it was all true,” Ron said shrewdly, “so they wouldn’t think it was my dad who leaked the information—Umbridge has been watching me all along.”
