Chapter 555 Dirty Things!
Chapter 555 Dirty Things!
It must be said that although the Count was not very serious most of the time, he was indeed a very good friend to Cohen.
Leaving the Earl to take care of the stubbornly refusing-to-sleep Dick, Cohen returned to his dormitory and buried himself in his box.
The chimera was still sleeping, and Cohen waited until the lion stopped snoring before going up to ask.
"Hmm?" The goat, who had also just woken up, was somewhat surprised to see Cohen appear at this time. "Cohen? You never used to come in the morning. Is something urgent?"
"Snapped!"
As he spoke, the goat placed the book "How to Handle Family Relationships" on the back of the lion's head, as if looking for a solution to the current situation.
"Roar..." The lion roared uncomfortably, then lay back down and dozed off.
“Ah, found it! ‘An unusual early morning and conversation mean you’ve made a mistake and need to apologize and explain promptly…’” the goat said after finding the answer. “Cohen, I’m so sorry—”
“No…” Cohen covered his face, “I’m not here because anyone did anything wrong—I’m here because of a nightmare, and a potential security risk…”
Then, Cohen told Goat about the Grim Reaper he had seen the day before, the nightmare he had last night, and the spell that Edward and the others had used.
"Do you feel something inside your body?" The goat lured the lion closer to Cohen so it could get a better look at him.
"Hiss—" The lion licked Cohen's shoulder as soon as it came over, but this time Cohen did not push it away as usual, but let it wet his robe.
The goat muttered a few obscure incantations, but nothing happened.
It felt increasingly strange.
"I haven't found anything that doesn't belong to you," the goat said, puzzled. "Perhaps what you're sensing isn't actually within you?"
"Or perhaps these spells can't detect it?" Cohen asked. "Have you ever seen anything like Death? Or what humans call an 'evil god'..."
“Greek sorcerers worshipped many gods, but most of them were misunderstandings,” the goat said. “For example, they might mistake a water serpent for Poseidon, simply because it could hide and wear a sorcerer’s clothes to steal fish… But I can’t directly deny other powers in the world that transcend magic. But I can be sure of one thing: death is not the end of everything. After death, the soul goes to another world.”
"Why do you say that?" Cohen frowned.
“The lion saw the light on the other side of the veil of death. It died once, but because I and the snake didn’t die, it couldn’t be taken away,” the goat said.
"Roar—" the lion roared in a low voice, as if it didn't want to recall that feeling.
“About your nightmare, Cohen,” the goat said, “don’t be afraid it will come true. We recognize you, and if anyone tries to control you, we will stop him.”
"Thank you," Cohen said, though he wasn't really comforted.
[Son!] Sissoko crawled out of the castle as soon as he woke up, drawn by the scent. Last night, playing "pretend hunting" with the little basilisk had taken a toll on his energy. [Why are you here so early today? Hmm? Are you unhappy?]
Sissoko moved closer and found that Cohen's expression remained stiff, and he seemed unwilling to look at him.
It circled Cohen with some confusion.
“Cohen had a nightmare,” the goat said.
"..." Cohen couldn't bring himself to say it directly to the bewildered Sissoko.
"What nightmare?" Sissoko nuzzled Cohen's hair with his chin. "About that dark wizard? I'll go bite him to death for you—"
“No, I dreamt that I killed you all,” Cohen said.
"Including Sofia?" Sissoko was taken aback. "You're the last one," Cohen said.
Sissoko paused for a few seconds.
“It’s just a dream,” Sissoko comforted him. “Besides, it’s better to be killed by you than by any other wizard—my greatest dream is to die in your arms…”
“No one will die, Cohen,” the goat said warily. “Your thinking has been led astray. Remember what you told me at the beginning? That dream was a trap.”
"Someone must have used some kind of magic on Cohen," Sissoko said confidently. "Goat, do you have any ideas—"
“I need some time,” the goat said, “to search through my memories… but until then, Cohen, remember, it was just a dream.”
"You will live a very happy life in the future," the water snake's tail suddenly said.
"See, even your mother said that," Sissoko said.

Even though the trip didn't yield any useful solutions, Cohen still felt much better.
The goat needs a day or two to list all sorts of spells to help Cohen get rid of the harassment. During these days, Cohen only needs to do one thing: say "No" to any deal with "death" or "evil god".
However, Cohen still planned to check the library himself to see if there were any similar records.
In the morning, Cohen spent the day in the library, while Harry went to Dumbledore's office again to tell him about his nightmare about Voldemort the night before.
After leaving Dumbledore's office, Harry also went to the library.
“It’ll be too slow for one person to search, I’ll help you.” Harry sat down next to Cohen with a large stack of books. “Is it about curses and nightmares? I also brought quite a few books on mythology and legends—others must have read about Death, Ron said he’d read about Death and his three wizard brothers…”
"Thank you." Cohen thanked Harry, and the two of them first browsed through the books together—not long after, Ron also went into the library.
“Why did you all run off without a word—Neville told me you went to the library…” Ron complained. “If Hermione hadn’t been in class, I would have thought she dragged you here to do some kind of car club—”
“It’s the Potion Reform Promotion Society,” Harry corrected as he flipped through a book titled “Disrupt the Enemy’s Mind—Make Him Punch Himself!”
"Quiet!" Mrs. Pince stormed over, wand in hand. "The library is not a place for chatting!"
Ron and Harry immediately fell silent.
Soon, Ron also joined the team helping Cohen find cases.
This job was destined to be tedious and tiring, and Cohen began to miss the life with Google and Chat-GPT.
Why isn't there an artificial intelligence in the wizarding world that can ask questions and get answers?
"Repairing Irreversible Brain Damage," this book could be kept as a reference for Neville's parents' recovery...
"Exploring the Rationality of Muggle Religion from a Wizarding Perspective" is full of satire on "the foolish Muggles who actually believe that there are winged angels living in outer space."
"A Study of the Devil in the Middle Ages" reveals that the "demons" who consorted with witches in the Middle Ages were actually Animagus male witches. Some witches enjoyed making their partners suddenly become hairy during sexual pleasure, so that they could lie on the male witches and take a comfortable nap when they were tired...
Cohen smacked his lips, sometimes feeling out of place among the wizards because he wasn't freakish enough...
This book even has illustrations—and they're meticulously hand-drawn ones. I wonder what the author's motivation was to draw these bizarre mating scenes in such detail.
“There really are people who like being with animals…” Ron muttered after peering at Cohen’s book. “It’s disgusting.”
