Who let this Dementor into Hogwarts!
Chapter 585 The Tower Hit by Cohen
Chapter 585 The Tower Hit by Cohen
Dumbledore may still need to make some "saintly moral choices".
But while Dumbledore was making his decision, Cohen had already used the Levitation Charm to send the Death Eater into the tree hollow—
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"
The Death Eater, who had been unconscious, was awakened by the burning pain, but within a second, he was completely consumed by the green flames, just like the twigs that had been thrown in earlier.
This time, however, the barrier at the entrance to the tree hole lit up brightly, and then, with a crack, it shattered into countless bright spots.
The tree hollow no longer emitted a green glow. The light from the tip of Harry's wand swept towards it, and the pocket watch rustled inside the hollow like a constantly beating heart.
Cohen stepped forward and took it out without any hindrance.
"Got it!" Harry exclaimed excitedly. "Should we destroy it now—"
“No, Harry, we can’t destroy it now,” Dumbledore said calmly. “It’s a brand new Horcrux, and Voldemort will feel it very clearly if it’s destroyed.”
“Indeed,” Cohen said.
"To prevent him from making new Horcruxes?" Harry immediately understood.
“That’s right,” Dumbledore said. “I want you to keep it, Harry, until you are about to face Voldemort and then destroy him and his Horcruxes.”
"Professor, aren't you Voldemort's most feared person? You can—"
“I can’t, Harry,” Dumbledore said. “I’m not in that prophecy, I can’t end it—this isn’t a good place to rest, and now we should go back.”
“Well…” Harry said, but it was clear that he still felt he could rely on Dumbledore.
Cohen remained silent, mentally rehearsing everything that was about to happen.
“Come on, just like before.” Dumbledore held out his hands for Cohen and Harry to shake.
"Here——"
Cohen took the opportunity to slip the Horcrux into Harry's pocket, and then, to Harry's puzzled look, they spun around again.
Another squeezing sensation came over him, but Harry's reaction wasn't as strong as last time—
They returned to Hogsmeade, where the cool breeze and the lights in the houses created a warm, home-like atmosphere.
However, just as Harry was about to lift his head to breathe some fresh air, he witnessed a scene that would stop his heart and lungs.
Above Hogwarts, a green skull symbol was lit up in the sky, with a snake sticking out of the skull's mouth.
“The Dark Mark!” Harry exclaimed, his eyes wide.
Dumbledore saw it too, but without a doubt, he wasn't worried at all—he was inside the castle himself, and he knew better than anyone whether there was any danger.
“We need to get up there quickly.” Dumbledore took Cohen and Harry’s arms this time, and another unsettling Apparition sensation followed.
With Dumbledore's permission, the Apparition restriction was temporarily lifted.
Next, they arrived at the top of the tower where the Black Mark had appeared.
There was no one here, but I could hear footsteps coming from downstairs.
“Cohen!” Dumbledore suddenly said.
Cohen immediately cast a petrification spell on Harry—then pulled an invisibility cloak from Harry's pocket and covered the stiff Harry with it.
Then, to Harry's puzzled look, Cohen put his index finger to his lips, making a shushing gesture.
"boom!"
The wooden door leading to the top of the tower was kicked open, and a pale student stumbled up.
At the same time as him appeared a spell to "expelle your weapon." The red light was dodged by Cohen, but it struck Dumbledore behind him—Dumbledore's wand flew over the wall, but Cohen secretly used the Summoning Charm to bring it back, and Cohen caught the Elder Wand with his left hand hidden behind his back.
Dumbledore was focused on the person entering through the door and didn't notice Cohen standing to the side.
Harry, though hidden by the Invisibility Cloak, saw everything and immediately breathed a sigh of relief—because he knew that Cohen would definitely return it to Dumbledore.
But what Harry couldn't understand was that Cohen didn't return the wand to Dumbledore; instead, he put it in his own pocket.
Draco Malfoy glanced at Dumbledore, then at Cohen standing next to Dumbledore.
"Good evening, Draco," Dumbledore said kindly.
"Oh no, old man," Malfoy said menacingly, "you're going to die here tonight—"
“But I’m still alive,” Dumbledore said. “And I have one more person with me—I must say, Cohen is an excellent student, and it’s hard to find anyone in this school who can beat him.”
“He’s not yours anymore,” Malfoy said.
“I believe him,” Dumbledore said. “Of course, I believe you too.”
Cohen grunted beside him.
“I don’t need you to believe me—as long as I kill you—my parents will be safe—” Malfoy pointed his wand at Dumbledore, and Cohen did not stand in front of Dumbledore, but just looked at the two of them.
“But you haven’t made a move yet, have you?” Dumbledore glanced at Cohen, then at Malfoy, and continued, “His task for you is to kill me, not anyone else…”
Malfoy looked to Cohen for help, his hand holding the wand trembling uncontrollably.
"It looks like—"
"boom!"
There was another banging on the door, and this time several Death Eaters entered.
The first to burst in was a man with long limbs, gray hair, and a tangled beard. He looked very different from a normal human; his face resembled that of a wolf rather than a human.
It's obvious that this is the werewolf wizard Fenrir Greyback.
Next up are a Death Eater brother and sister, Amicus Caro and Alecto Caro.
Lucius and Narcissa followed closely behind—they rushed to Draco's side as soon as they entered, then fixed their gazes on Dumbledore.
They all breathed a sigh of relief when they saw that Dumbledore didn't have a wand, but when they saw Cohen standing right next to him, they immediately stopped their urge to laugh at Dumbledore.
This kid is clearly more dangerous than Dumbledore; the memory of being bombarded by the Death Curse at the Ministry of Magic is attacking them relentlessly.
“Draco…” Lucius glanced uneasily at Cohen, then leaned close to Draco’s ear and whispered something.
He and Narcissa had been allowed by the Dark Lord to watch his son's plan to murder Dumbledore—and if successful, their entire family could be pardoned.
If they fail, they won't need the Dark Lord's forgiveness—Dumbledore and the Ministry of Magic will hand them over to the Dementors.
He dared not flee, because Karkaroff was killed two weeks after his escape, even in Antarctica.
"Hurry up and get started—Draco..." Lucius urged.
"I--"
"boom!"
The poor wooden door at the top of the tower was smashed open again by someone.
Edward charged into the midst of the Death Eaters, and almost instantly, all five wands pointed at him.
Two of them were then pressed down; it was Draco who pressed down his parents' wands.
