Chapter 610 The Death Eaters' Strictest Father
Chapter 610 The Death Eaters' Strictest Father
When Harry saw the figure lying on the bed, his first thought was that Cohen had returned.
So much so that Harry's heart suddenly skipped a beat.
But Harry was soon disappointed, because the person lying in the bed was bald and had blood-stained bandages wrapped around his arm.
Harry recognized him; it was Mr. Norton's friend, Arnold Pisgood.
It looked like it had been rescued from the Ministry of Magic by the Order of the Phoenix; the bloodstains on the bandages were still fresh.
"Ok?"
Arnold turned his head with difficulty, looked towards the door, saw the open door, and opened his mouth as if to call for help.
“Wait—Mr. Pisgood—”
Harry quickly removed the Invisibility Cloak.
"It's us—"
“Harry?” Arnold’s eyes widened as he struggled to sit up in bed, but winced in pain from the wound on his arm. “Ouch—what are you doing here?”
“We came here to…” Harry tried to come up with a reason, “We wanted to…”
“Mr. Pisgood, do you know where the Man of Void might be right now?” Hermione asked for Harry. “Does the Ministry of Magic have any leads—we have a way to deal with him?”
"What?" Arnold frowned. "What method?"
“We can’t say that…” Hermione said apologetically.
The news of Voldemort's Horcruxes must not be revealed to them, lest Voldemort discover them in the event of some terrible emergency, thus eliminating their only advantage.
“I don’t know,” Arnold shook his head.
We're telling the truth—
“I really don’t know either,” Arnold said helplessly. “If I had known, I would have told Edward… But I still suggest you work with the Order of the Phoenix. It’s too dangerous for you kids to deal with him.”
“This operation needs to be more discreet…” Harry looked at Arnold’s bloodstained arm. “I don’t want anyone else to get hurt…”
Arnold noticed Harry's gaze and suddenly realized that Harry might have misunderstood his hand—
“No, no, no—I hurt my hand when I was running away—” Arnold quickly explained, “It’s not what you think… I just fractured a bone. It’s just that the situation is too unstable right now, so I didn’t go to St. Mungo’s. Tonks brought me here…”
"Run away?" Ron asked, puzzled.
“After Edward’s accident, the Death Eaters suddenly flooded in, and I’m not that good at fighting…” Arnold said somewhat awkwardly.
"..."
Harry and the others exchanged glances.
“Then we won’t disturb your rest any longer…” Hermione said politely, “but Mr. Pisgood, we would like to ask you for a favor: please don’t reveal that we’ve been here, is that alright?”
“Ah, a special little plan, I understand, I understand.” Arnold nodded as if it were a habit, his voice tinged with disappointment. “Edward often keeps these things from me too—but I understand…it’s just that he…sigh…he’s my only good friend…”

After leaving the Nortons' house, they needed to find a place to rest.
Hermione suggested finding a remote spot to pitch a tent, and she brought along the tent belonging to Mr. Weasley's colleague.
But Harry wanted to stay on Privet Drive first. Firstly, if the Death Eaters attacked Mrs. Norton, they could help; secondly, they could use the Nortons' location to get the next day's newspaper.
The newspapers will certainly publish what's happening at the Ministry of Magic, and they can observe the Death Eaters' movements.
They now had a very suitable house—the Dursleys' house was still empty. In the end, they decided to stay at number four Privet Drive for the night, and Hermione used many protective charms around the house so that no one could see them even if they came in—as long as they didn't go out.
“Besides, Voldemort might have come into the open after taking over the Ministry of Magic, right?” Harry guessed. “Now there’s not much anyone who can stop him, maybe…”
“I don’t think he’ll step forward himself.” Hermione shook her head. “He just needs to let the Death Eaters control the Ministry of Magic. He can be the mastermind behind the scenes. It’s more convenient and safer that way.”
"So we'll never find him?" Harry said, somewhat discouraged.
“Or…” Ron suddenly had an idea, “He’s looking for Harry, right? He wants to find and kill Harry—”
"You mean... send Harry as bait?" Hermione frowned. "That definitely won't work, if Vader finds out—"
Suddenly, a loud kicking sound came from downstairs.
A flicker of fear crossed Hermione's eyes, and Harry reacted swiftly by raising the Invisibility Cloak, covering all three of them.
They held their breath under the invisibility cloak and quietly crouched in the corner of the room.
They heard the door being kicked open, but no one came upstairs for a long time.
“We have to go down and check…” Harry whispered from under his Invisibility Cloak.
“Wait, I’ll use the Disillusionment Charm again…” Hermione said breathlessly, “The Invisibility Cloak won’t cover it…”
After Hermione cast another Disillusionment Charm on them, they tiptoed downstairs together.
The living room was dark at night, but the streetlights shone in through the open front door, so they could see what was happening at the doorway.
A dark figure lay limply and motionless at the violently broken doorway.
They moved closer without making a sound.
Harry recognized him; he looked like a Death Eater—he'd seen this man the night Voldemort was resurrected.
“Goyle—he’s a Death Eater…” Harry whispered, “Malfoy’s father—”
Hermione swallowed hard, carefully drew her wand, and cast a petrification spell on the "person" lying at the door before daring to stick her hand out of her invisibility cloak to check the other person's breath.
"he died……"
Hermione took a deep breath.
“But who did it?” Ron asked, puzzled. “How did they know we were here?”
“I don’t know, I just felt my protective spell suddenly break—” Hermione said, puzzled. “Did we trigger some kind of trap—”
“But I’m more curious about who killed him.” Harry stared at the body for a while, then turned to look through the window at the next room.
Tonks and the others didn't come out at all; it couldn't have been the Order of the Phoenix who did it.
Surely this Death Eater couldn't have committed suicide?
“Harry mentioned the Man of Darkness’s name.” Ron thought of something. “Could it be that name that gave us away—I heard it’s cursed!”
"Cohen?" Harry suddenly called out to the surrounding air in a normal voice, as if he hadn't been listening to Ron at all.
