Chapter 141: Ascension
Su Yun opened his fiery eyes and looked at his hands, wanting to see what condition he was in. The appearance of flesh and blood disappeared in an instant, and the situation that appeared before him was only what he expected.

He could see a bone of law within his arm, through which the power of law was transmitted to his body. If nothing unexpected happened, he would have bones of law all over his body, a manifestation of his solidified abilities.

The Bone of Law, as seen by him, possessed an extraordinary quality, as if condensed from the most profound power in the universe. Every inch of it shone with the faint light of law, like the brightest star in the night sky, drawing the most attention.

The surface of the Dharma Bone was covered with intricate and ancient runes. These runes shimmered with light, each containing profound principles.

Through his Fiery Eyes, Su Yun understood that the main body of his Law Bone was composed of the Immortal Law, corresponding to the ability of "eternal indestructibility." Some incomplete Law powers were attached to it, which contained the "world-changing" power of the Law of Change.

As his abilities solidify more and more, the power of different laws will fill his body.

Su Yun then cast his gaze across the heavens and earth, and saw the entire Jedi Tiantong Formation enveloping the earth like an invisible net. Its foundations dug deep into Kunlun Mountain, Changbai Mountain, Taibai Mountain, and other key points, seemingly connected to the earth's core, drawing its power. The formation's summit soared into the sky, resonating with the stars above, drawing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth.

Beneath the "great net" lay the mundane world, while within the formation, clouds and mist swirled, a myriad of rays of light. These clouds and rays of light were not naturally formed, but rather were conjured by the blocking force within the formation. They intertwined, forming a series of brilliant curtains of light that separated the formation from above and below.

Su Yun looked toward the Kunlun Mountains. On either side of the range stood two giant phantoms. These figures, thousands of feet tall and imposing, towered like imposing mountains, inspiring awe. Their outlines were barely visible beneath the cloud cover, yet their imposing presence still evoked an indescribable sense of oppression.

The giant's phantom form was composed of invisible forces, yet it felt substantial and weighty. Its limbs were thick and powerful, as if a simple wave of its hand could stir the wind and clouds, shake the mountains and rivers.

The two giant phantoms, one as if holding up the sky, the other as if pressing down on the earth. They were not physical entities, but rather invisible forces formed by the core power of the great formation that enveloped the land of China.

If Su Yun had not randomly obtained abilities like the Fiery Eyes and Golden Pupils today, even if someone in this world had discovered the Jedi Tiantong Formation, no one would have been able to observe these two giant phantoms.

Seeing their actions, Su Yun understood what this giant represented.

Zhuanxu, the man who started the connection between Juedi and Tiantong, ordered his grandson "Zhong" to lift his hands to the sky and try his best to raise them up, while "Li" pressed his hands to the ground and tried his best to push them down.

As they moved, the distance between heaven and earth gradually widened, cutting off all passages except the Kunlun Ladder. Zhuanxu had Zhong and Li guard the Kunlun Ladder, the only passage between heaven and earth.

It is not known whether there is a ladder to heaven in Kunlun Mountain, but these two giant shadows obviously represent Chong and Li.

"Is this the upper realm? I'm a bit disappointed." Su Yun's gaze penetrated the formation and saw the scene beyond it. It was a place composed of independent yet overlapping small worlds, relying on the mortal world he was in. It was not the immortal world he had imagined.

However, these small worlds are also paradises. Some mountains are covered with lush green, rolling and undulating, like a giant green dragon winding and circling. The peaks are towering into the clouds, and clouds and mists are lingering in between.

Some offer a unique experience, with chiseled stone walls, dappled light and shadow, and the sound of dripping springs resonating in the vast expanse, bringing a sense of relaxation and joy. Other buildings, with their well-proportioned layout and soaring eaves, coexist harmoniously with nature, resembling a fairyland.

Su Yun saw the ancestors of various sects who had ascended to heaven, but he did not see the immortals in the celestial palace as described in myths and legends. Instead, he saw a group of wild gods whose origins were unknown. These wild gods were probably the targets of this formation.

"So that's how it is..." The more Su Yun looked at it, the more he felt that the ability of the Fiery Eyes and Golden Pupils was really practical. He looked at it a few more times and understood the situation in the upper realm.

It can be said that all beings in this place can be considered "immortals", but they are different. Immortals are divided into five categories: heaven, earth, human, god, and ghost.

Ghost immortals refer to those who practice Taoism but fail to reach the state of pure yang. After death, they have a pure thought and enter the underworld, neither born nor destroyed. They are called ghost immortals.

Human immortals are those who practice Taoism and possess the energy of the five elements. They are free from misunderstandings and have solid bodies. The eight evil plagues cannot harm them. They are mostly healthy and rarely sick. They are called human immortals.

Earthly immortals, half of heaven and earth, possess the talent of divine immortals. Their achievements are unseen, and they live forever in the world, never dying in the human realm. Divine immortals, upon reaching their full potential, forget their form and transform into fetal immortals. When yin is exhausted and yang is pure, they possess a body beyond their own. They renounce the mundane world and return to the Three Mountains, becoming divine immortals.

The celestial immortals, tired of living on the three islands, preached the way to the human world. They made great contributions to the way and performed good deeds in the human world. When their contributions and deeds were sufficient, they received the heavenly book and returned to the heaven. They were called celestial immortals.

According to this classification, the ascended ancestors of various sects are basically earthly immortals, and celestial immortals are very rare. Celestial immortals can be regarded as the ceiling of the upper realm.

This situation can only be described as unexpected, but also reasonable. If you think about it, you will know that the upper and lower realms cannot have such a huge gap in their upper and lower limits, and it is normal that the heaven in mythology and legends does not exist.

The so-called upper realm is actually the inner world. There is only one inner world; in other words, everyone's inner world is connected. Normally, it belongs to no one person; it is the place closest to the Heavenly Dao and is governed by it.

To achieve enlightenment and ascend to heaven through true cultivation is to separate a separate area from the inner world, which becomes one's own Taoist temple and provides a place to stay in the upper realm.

That Daoist temple was already very close to reality, completely different from the ordinary inner world. So the one in charge was no longer the Heavenly Dao, but the ascended ancestors. The inner world was the sum of the collective thinking of all things in heaven and earth.

These ancestors extracted their own "existence" from the thoughts of all things and gathered them together, thus forming a Taoist temple. They directly melted and separated all the fragments belonging to themselves in the inner scene, and refined it into a paradise with themselves as the essence. This is the practice of refining the void into reality.

Those who practice the Golden Elixir Dao take the pure Yang Qi, obtain the gold from the lungs, create the golden liquid, obtain the creation of water and fire in their own body, and take the golden liquid along the Du channel to the Niwan Palace.

The Golden Liquid, a watery substance, nourishes the Primordial Spirit in the Niwan Palace, simultaneously instilling the individual's divine will. It then circulates through the Great Circulation of the Heavenly Qi, flowing through the limbs, bones, and internal organs. The Golden Liquid, a pure Yang fire element, refines impurities from the physical body, strengthening the body and vital energy. With divine will aligning with the physical body, the Primordial Spirit and the physical body gradually merge.

Upon completion, the body and spirit become one, and one can also attain the state of innate ancestral qi, traveling between heaven and earth. After achieving the state of innate ancestral qi, one's body and life are fulfilled, and one can attain the status of a human immortal. Indeed, this is the state currently being experienced by people like Zhang Zhiwei and Yiqing.

The universe is inherently imperfect, but the perfection of human immortality does not conform to the constraints of the Great Dao, preventing immortality and ultimately leading to ascension. The Daoist temple in the inner world is the destination of ascension. Relying on one's own immense magical power to separate the Daoist temple, refining the void into the true self, one becomes an earthly immortal.

The most difficult celestial immortal to achieve is transcending the Dao field one has cultivated, and is only one step away from true ascension. Beyond the three immortals of heaven, earth, and man, ghost immortals and gods are merely different types of cultivation. One is for ghosts, the other for faith.

The founders of various sects were basically earthly immortals, and the human immortals in the upper realm were all immortals who were imprisoned there before the Juedi Tiantong formation. Those who could ascend under the Juedi Tiantong formation were all people of unparalleled talent. They could be said to be the incarnation of the boss in this world, and naturally much stronger than those scattered immortals.

After Wu Gensheng told Su Yun about how the nine of them broke the restriction, Su Yun also deliberately calculated what was inside the restriction and found out that the thing inside the restriction left by True Man Zi Yang was a broken celestial immortal fruit.

No matter where this incomplete immortal fruit came from, one thing is certain: if one gathers the eight extraordinary skills and cultivates them to a certain level, becoming an immortal is certain. After all, this is the legacy of an immortal.

Even if the Eight Great Skills were taken individually, they already possessed some of the characteristics of a celestial being. Not to mention Feng Baobao, whose incomplete Dao Fruit was still tucked away in her body.

As for the "real ascension", it is the division between the upper and lower realms that we see now. In essence, it is still one world, but it is a material world, and the other is a paradise that is a part of the inner world mixed into a physical entity.

The real ascension is to ascend from this world to another higher level world.

Su Yun's "Fire Eyes" fully activated, and he found a passage in Kunlun Mountain, a passage for ascension, also known as the Ladder to Heaven. Reaching the realm of celestial immortals, through the Ladder to Heaven, one can escape this world and reach the true upper realm.

This is equivalent to Xiao Yan from Douqi Continent leaving Douqi Continent and ascending to the Great Thousand World, rather than simply changing the map within a world framework.
