Chapter 80 Relics

Several people walked to the old prince's bedroom together.

Just as he reached the door, Li Ming frowned, looked around, and said to himself: "As a member of the royal family, how can you be so arrogant?"

"Sir, what's wrong?" Yue Yongfeng asked.

"It's okay, let's go and take a look first." Li Ming shook his head and was unwilling to say more.

Entering the old prince's bedroom, the entire room was covered in crimson brocade embellished with gold flowers. In the recess of the room, there was something like a long sofa, on which lay several swords, their scabbards gilded, their hilts inlaid with dazzling gems. From the ceiling hung a multicolored glass lamp, its shape and color captivating. Underfoot was a thick cashmere carpet, very comfortable to walk on. Several curtains hung in front of the door, and another door led to a second room, which seemed illuminated and magnificent.

When the curtains were lifted again, a faint scent of sandalwood wafted into the air, and spots of sunlight shone through the hollow carved window frames. In the middle of the room stood a huge wooden bed, decorated with exquisite carvings, which was very extraordinary. On the bed lay an unconscious old man.

Even through a layer of quilt, one can see that the old man is now emaciated. Although his skeleton is large, only a layer of flesh covers the bones.

"Sure enough." Li Ming stared at it for several seconds and muttered this.

"What happened?" Chang Miao asked.

"Can't you look at it yourself!!!" Li Ming wanted to answer, but when he saw Chang Miao's expression as if he didn't want to use his brain and just wanted to copy homework, Li Ming became furious.

"I'm not as accurate as you." Chang Miao muttered to himself, but he also nodded lightly between his eyebrows and then exclaimed.

"Did you see it?"

"No."

"What's wrong with you?"

"Why can't I see it?"

"You are just like that. I forgot about the dragon energy suppression." Li Ming pondered for a moment and said, "The old prince will be fine for the time being. Let's go see Master Su Zhen."

"Is my father really okay?" the young prince stepped forward and asked.

Li Ming smiled and said, "The old prince was suppressed by the method of Yan Sheng. This method can bypass the dragon energy and reach the noble. I guess the old prince has no other symptoms these days except for being unconscious."

The young prince nodded and said, "Indeed not. It was just that I couldn't eat or drink while I was in a coma, so I became so thin."

"You slept for a whole month?" Chang Miao asked.

"However, when Master Suzhen was here, he could cast a spell every day to temporarily revive the prince, but it only lasted for a short while. That's why he was able to maintain this state until today. But now my father's health is so poor that even this cannot be sustained. Moreover, Master Suzhen is also unconscious. I am really helpless, so I ask for your help."

Li Ming nodded and said, "Let me go see Master Su Zhen first to see if there is any way to treat him."

Several people left the prince's bedroom together and went to the guest room.

Compared to the prince's bedroom, this place is naturally much quieter, but it is still luxuriously decorated in a way that ordinary people can hardly imagine, even though there is only a monk living here at the moment.

Master Suzhen looked kind and gentle, rather thin, with a bald head and no beard. At first glance he looked to be about forty or fifty years old, but for some reason he was a generation older than Yue Yongfeng. At this moment he was lying on the bed, as if he was asleep.

As soon as he entered the door, Li Ming frowned again. He had frowned more times today than in the whole of last month combined.

"This breath." Li Ming seemed to remember something while speaking, and said to Chang Miao, "Where is the statue?" Chang Miao responded, opened the bag he had been carrying, and took out a small cloth bag wrapped tightly from it.

"Here it is."

Li Ming nodded and reached out to untie the cloth bag. Inside was a statue of an evil god with a green face and fangs.

When Yue Yongfeng saw the statue, he was stunned. Then he said, "Isn't this the statue that the witch worshipped? Why are you here, sir?"

The young prince also asked, "Could this be related to Master Su Zhen's injury?"

Li Ming nodded and said, "The evil energy wrapped around Master Su Zhen seems to have the same origin as this statue. It's really strange, isn't it?"

Li Ming pondered for a moment, then his eyes lit up. He said to Yue Yongfeng as if he had thought of something: "Where's the relic? Take it out and let me see it."

After hearing what Li Ming said, Yue Yongfeng did not hesitate. He reached into his arms, took out a brocade box, and handed it to Li Ming.

Li Ming opened the brocade box and a few golden lights flashed in his eyes, but in the eyes of ordinary people, it was just a small gray bead, not even round. If it were not in the brocade box, it would be no different from a small stone on the street.

Li Ming held the relic in his hand, then looked at the statue with the yellow talisman on it. He pondered it carefully for a while before saying, "It's true!"

"Sir, have you figured out anything?" Yue Yongfeng asked.

"I have some clues," Li Ming said, then sighed and said, "Don't blame Master Su Zhen. If I hadn't broken the evil magic myself, I wouldn't have noticed that the relic was stained with a trace of evil."

"What???" Yue Yongfeng and the little prince exclaimed in unison.

Li Ming continued, "I think it was because you, Brother Yue, used the relic to cast the Vajra Body Protection Mantra in the teahouse earlier. It should have been harmless, but unfortunately, that evil woman used the statue to break the spell, and it also brought in some evil spirits."

Yue Yongfeng was stunned. Thinking of the advice given by his uncle before he left, he was shocked and said, "It turns out that I was the one who harmed Uncle Su Zhen. How can I face the elders of the sect again? I feel so ashamed of my master!"

Li Ming sighed and said, "This matter cannot be blamed on you, Brother Yue. After all, the situation was critical at the time. The relic is a pure object. Although it was invaded by evil spirits, it can be naturally purified by offering it before the Buddha. It's a pity that Master Suzhen urgently needed this object to dispel the evil spell cast on the old prince, so he naturally had to cast a spell to resist it. Unfortunately, a thousand-mile dam is breached by an ant hole. It was originally just a small flaw, but it caused Master Suzhen to suffer a heavy blow."

"Then what should we do now?" asked the young prince.

"Find a temple and borrow some pure incense to restore the relics. Then we can use the relics to help Master Suzhen recover." Li Ming said.

"Is that all?" Yue Yongfeng asked in surprise.

"It's neither easy nor difficult," Li Ming said, shaking his head. "The relic is a pure object, so it must be repaired with pure incense. If too many thoughts are mixed in, it will become poison."

"Pure?" Yue Yongfeng muttered to himself, looking somewhat puzzled.

Li Mingze smiled and said, "Ordinary people pray to gods and Buddhas for their own wishes. Although they have strong wishes and incense, they are inevitably tainted with greed and crazy thoughts. If they only have a yearning and piety for Buddhism, then they will naturally be pure and clean, and only then can the relics be restored."

The young prince smiled and said, "That's easy. Pudu Temple is rarely open to the public, and the monks who come and go are all virtuous and eminent. They must be sincere in their worship of Buddha, so naturally their incense is pure. I will take you to Pudu Temple right away. I'm familiar with the abbot, so it won't be a problem for you to go with me."

"Pudu Temple?" Li Ming smiled when he heard the voice, with an inexplicable flash in his eyes. He simply said, "That's great."
