Family heirloom, then turned into a demon girl

Chapter 15 Mission: 033 Deception

Chapter 15 Mission: 03-3 Deception
"Jilie..."

Nero looked at his sister, whose face changed drastically, full of panic and disbelief, and called out her name helplessly in a dreamy voice.

Just like in the game, Agnas brought Jillie to her at the worst moment, allowing her to witness the worst scene of the brother and sister transforming into demons and fighting each other.

Before coming, she had made a lot of mental preparations, but when things really developed in the worst way she expected, Nero inevitably fell into negative emotions.

There was anger at Agnes and the Pope's actions, disappointment at Credo's stubbornness, and frustration at his own bad luck. But most of all, it was regret and worry for having caused Jillie to worry.

"You mean, Nero looks like this—"

"Nero is not possessed by a demon, Agnus."

Credo interrupted Kyrie and landed slowly with a heavy breath, transforming back into a human form. He approached Agnus with angry steps and said in a suppressed voice, "Now, leave her!"

"Perhaps you've misunderstood something?" Agnes said with a sickening, condescending smile, "This is the will of His Holiness the Pope."

"What did you say?!"

Agnas's hand climbed onto Jillie's shoulder and pulled her behind him. "I said, this is the Pope's will. All of it."

Looking at the approaching Credo, Agnus raised his voice:

"No, don't forget your mission, Knight Commander."

Credo's footsteps suddenly stopped, as if he had hit an invisible wall.

As Agnus said, Credo came on this mission, a mission issued by the Pope.

The Pope's Mission. What a weighty name.

This name means that he must kill Nero with his own hands, the person who is as close to him as a real brother.

Yes, as Agnus said. Credo should not have been soft-hearted.

But Credo raised his head and retorted sharply: "That's because you deceived the Pope..."

"Deception? I have never lied to His Holiness the Pope."

Agnus reached behind him, caught a flying sword wing, and pointed it at Credo: "But you..."

His hand slowly moved and landed on Nero, who was standing not far away. He had already retracted his Yama Blade and turned back into blonde hair. "You are the one who was deceived, right? By a demon."

Nero didn't explain. She knew any additional explanation would only add to the already chaotic situation and play into Agnes's hands. So she simply whispered, "Does Credo really want to trust someone with a hostage?"

"hostage?"

Facing Nero's question, Agnes smiled slightly: "If you insist on thinking so, it's not impossible."

"Agnus, don't you dare!"

However, even though Credo was so angry, Agnus still held his sword in front of Jiriye: "So, demon over there, do you want to surrender?"

Jillie let out a short cry of surprise.

Nero's answer was to pull out a whip sword from his arms and swing it away with a "snap".

"I think so." Agnas then looked at Credo, who was gritting his teeth. "Or, Master of the Knights, can you complete your mission?"

Credo had his back to Nero, his sword-holding hand trembling constantly.

Seeing his expression, Agnes chuckled and said, "Forget it. His Holiness the Pope doesn't really count on you anyway."

In an instant, a white light descended and everyone was forced to cover their eyes.

"Varied?!"

When the light faded, Agnas had transformed into a demon once again, holding the unconscious Jillie in his arms. He looked down at the silent Nero and the furious Credo, and said calmly, "I'm sorry, this is also the order of His Holiness the Pope."

"The Pope? How could it be!"

Agnus ignored Credo, who was betrayed by his ideals and fell into deep self-doubt, and continued, "If you want her to be safe, bring the captured Nero to the place where he descended.

"Whatever method you choose."

He flew into the sky, turned around and disappeared behind the building.

Finally left.

Nero sighed inwardly. Having such an important hostage held in the enemy's hands from beginning to end was a terrible feeling, being controlled by someone else.

Looking at Agnas leaving, Credo uttered a blunt "Damn it!", then took two steps forward and was about to transform and chase after him.

But Nero grabbed his wrist and said, "Credo, calm down."

"How can I calm down?!"

Credo, who was already furious, yelled back, trying to break free from Nero's hand: "I have to go to the Pope and ask him face to face!

"Let go! Don't make me do it!"

Of course, Nero couldn't let go. Up until now, everything had unfolded in the worst-case scenario Nero had envisioned. If things continued like this, they would end up like in the game.

Credo will die.

The only good news for Nero now was that she still had hope of changing the future. No matter how dire the current situation was, it was still within her plan. But if she let Credo leave like this, losing this only chance to communicate with him, she would no longer be able to influence Credo's fate.

"I can't let you catch up like this." Nero said stubbornly, "Impulse won't change anything, Credo!"

"Let go!"

In the golden light, Credo transformed into a demon form again, shook Nero away, floated into the air and prepared to go to the headquarters.

However, before he flew two meters, he felt a pain in his leg and stopped in his tracks. Credo looked back and saw that it was Nero's whip sword that had entangled one of his legs.

"……Yeah."

Finally, the inner anger completely melted Credo's last bit of sanity, and there happened to be a target in front of him to vent his anger.

Credo gripped his sword tightly and said coldly, "Nero, you asked for this."

With a flash of light, Credo turned around and pounced on Nero, slashing him with his sword.

Nero released his grip, retracted Echidna, equipped Gilgamesh once more, and took Credo's blow head-on.

That's right, that's it.

Nero gritted his teeth and was pushed back repeatedly by the furious Credo.

She wanted to drag Credo here and wait until he calmed down a little before trying to talk. As long as she could convince Credo here and get him to stay away from here temporarily -

Credo can be saved.

So Nero didn't use the power of impact steel to knock Credo away, and didn't give him the chance to create distance.

Meanwhile, Nero made up his mind.

Even if Credo has to be seriously injured here, he must not be allowed to see the Pope.

But she herself didn't notice that this seemed a little different from her original idea.
