Chapter 51 Conversation
Chapter 51 Conversation
"I hope you bring me good news." Jin Bing played with the antique gold coin in his hand. His thick fingers were extremely flexible, and the valuable gold coin flew up and down between his fingers.
But throughout, he didn't just kneel down on one knee with Ms. Bullseye and Gorgon.
"After all, your leader just messed up something not long ago, and I don't want this to happen again."
"We didn't disappoint your expectations. Although the process was ups and downs, we still brought the goods back." Ms. Bullseye lowered her head, holding the suitcase in both hands, and slowly came to Kingpin.
Kingpin stopped what he was doing and took the suitcase offered by Ms. Bullseye.
"I've already seen the thriller. There is indeed something inside, but I can't guarantee whether it is authentic."
"This requires the judgment of professionals." Jin Bing opened the suitcase and took a look, then slowly closed the suitcase and handed it to the bodyguard beside him, asking him to take it away.
"But according to the information provided by my informant, it should be authentic, unless that person deceived even his own subordinates. By the way, have they been dealt with?"
"It's been taken care of." Ms. Bullseye replied respectfully.
"However, there is a little episode that may interest you."
"Oh? What's the matter?" Jin Bing started playing with the gold coins again and became lazy again. After all, in his opinion, the highlight of the night was over.
Ms. Bullseye immediately recounted what happened at the port from beginning to end.
"The tiger-headed man and the masked woman?" Jin tapped the armrests of the chair rhythmically with his fingers.
"Yes, they were all petrified by the Gorgon's petrification ability and left at the port. Do we need to bring them back?"
"It's quite interesting that a serious injury is so terrifying and leaves you feeling helpless." Jin Bing stopped what he was doing.
"First, there was the rumored vegetable man, then the four-armed monster that knocked out the Rhino Man, then Matt encountered a creature that looked like Mothman the other day, and finally, the tiger-headed man you encountered today. New York has been truly overrun with all sorts of evil lately."
After saying this, Kingpin stood up, turned around and walked to the huge floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the most prosperous area in New York.
Jin Bing just watched quietly without saying anything. The others could only wait silently for the underworld emperor to speak.
"This is obviously not a good thing." After a long silence, Jin Bing slowly spoke.
"However, danger is often accompanied by opportunities. This is what I have always believed in." Jin Bing said firmly. His confidence comes from his experiences from childhood to adulthood. He has come to where he is today by defeating one crisis after another.
"Bring back those two stone statues. They can complete my plan." Jin Bing turned around and ordered.
"Gorgon, you are responsible for using magic to break the petrification."
"Yes, sir." ×2
Ms. Bullseye and Gorgon obeyed the order and slowly left the room.
After all his men had retreated, Kingpin turned back again and admired the night view of New York.
"It's almost there." Jin Bing whispered.
"Soon, I will no longer be the king of the underworld, but... the king of the entire world!"
--split line--
"It seems we are a little late." Ms. Bullseye said after returning to the port.
Gorgon, standing nearby, remained silent. It was clear that this incident had also exceeded his expectations. "What do you mean? Was it picked up by a scavenger?" Ms. Bullseye looked at Gorgon beside him.
"Impossible." Gorgon denied Ms. Bullseye's guess.
"My eyes can turn living things into real stone. Those two stone statues are not something that ordinary people can carry away. To move them, we need at least a forklift. Not to mention transporting them away, we need at least the same equipment as us."
Gorgon pointed behind him, where the forklifts and trucks they brought were parked, as well as his men on standby.
"It takes us no more than an hour and a half to go back and forth. Most people can't gather all of this in this time."
"So you're saying they had accomplices, and their accomplices transported them?" Ms. Bullseye interjected.
"That possibility can't be ruled out," Gorgon nodded. "Of course, I can't rule out the possibility that my petrification ability has failed. Of course, neither is good news."
"It seems we have to return empty-handed." Ms. Bullseye said helplessly.
As the protagonists of the discussion, Yang Le and Gwen had already returned home and were ready to enjoy their midnight snack.
Ever since Gwen became Spider-Woman, every time they come back from fighting crime at night, they have to have a midnight snack, sometimes they make it themselves, sometimes they buy it from outside. It has almost become their habit.
So even if they were not fighting crime, Yang Le and Gwen would habitually have a meal, but this habit changed back after Gwen took a shower and weighed herself.
Normally, superhuman metabolism shouldn't make Gwen fat, but you can't resist the fact that the calorie content of most American foods is directly proportional to their deliciousness.
In addition, Gwen ate a lot and didn't exercise (fighting criminals), so she naturally gained weight over time. Even Yang Le gained a lot of weight.
Because they went out for "exercise" today, they can enjoy a midnight snack with a clear conscience.
However, Yang Le and Gwen were both a little uninterested in this event which should have been a happy one.
Yang Le looked at Gwen who was fiddling with the noodles with a fork. The pasta had been served for a while, but Gwen didn't eat many bites, which was in stark contrast to the pasta.
Yang Le asked, "What's wrong, Gwen? Is it not to your liking?"
Gwen, who was stopped by Yang Le, stopped what he was doing and spoke weakly.
"No harpy, I was just thinking about something."
Gwen stopped talking here, and Yang Le did not urge her. He knew that at this time he should wait patiently instead of urging her.
Sure enough, after five or six minutes of silence, Gwen spoke again.
"I was just scared by what I experienced today. Sorry, I didn't mean to say anything discouraging. I just felt that I might... I'm sorry."
A depressed Gwen ended the conversation with another apology. For a high school student, experiencing life and death was indeed a bit too much. Gwen did not collapse directly, but went home to complain to him, which was beyond many people.
"I should be the one to say sorry." Yang Le left his seat and walked to Gwen, squatting down and looking at Gwen's buried face.
"I'm not saying, 'I'm sorry I didn't protect you well,' I'm saying, 'I'm sorry I'm not a good teacher.'" Yang Le's face was full of guilt.
Gwen quickly comforted him, "How could that be? Harpy, you taught me a lot."
