Chapter 29 What kind of beast are you?
"How dare I not accept the Immortal's invitation?" The dragon girl Ao Lingxin smiled brightly, and she and her brother Ao Lie pressed down the clouds, followed Lu Jun and landed on the Flower-Fruit Mountain.

Lu Jun also let out a sword flash and landed on the mountain.

As the man and two dragons gained their footing, they saw a bright light before them.

Five disciples of the Western Paradise, wearing moon-white monk robes, with spiritual light behind their heads, holding vajra, copper alms bowl, heavenly sound conch, sandalwood rosary, treasure canopy banners and other Buddhist instruments, came before them.

"Namo Amitabha."

One of the monks, with his hair covered in gold, held a rosary in his hand, clasped his hands together, and asked in a peaceful tone, "Three donors, why have you come to my immortal mountain?"

Ao Lie was playful and said jokingly, "This is the territory of the East China Sea, and the mountain is also a mountain of the East China Sea. How can it be your immortal mountain?"

"You naughty boy, why don't you shut up?"

Ao Lingxin reached out and grabbed his brother's neck, lifting him up. "This is the Golden Head Jie Di, the guardian deity of the Buddhist world. How can I allow you to be so noisy and presumptuous?"

The five Jiedis smiled but said nothing.

An idea flashed through Lu Jun's mind, and he stepped forward to greet them. He smiled and said, "I am a guardian deity under the command of Nezha, the Third Prince of Heaven. Following the orders of the Heavenly Marshal, I have come to the East Sea to celebrate the Dragon King's birthday. Seeing the unique scenery of this mountain, I was inspired to visit. I wonder why you Jie Di are here? Are you here to celebrate the Dragon King's birthday as well?"

Upon hearing this, the Five Directions Jie Di folded their palms in greeting and said, "We, the humble monks, are here to protect sentient beings in compliance with the command of the Buddha Tathagata. We have no other aspirations."

Lu Jun sneered inwardly, but didn't expose their true intentions. He simply said with a smile, "So that's how it is. The Buddha is truly merciful! In that case, the three of us will only spend a few days here in the mountains and then leave on our own. We won't cause any trouble for you!"

The five Jie Di looked at each other in bewilderment. After a short silence, they chanted the Buddha's name to the three people: "Namo Amitabha. The three donors, please do as you please!"

After saying this, the Five Directions Jie Di disappeared and did not try to stop him anymore.

Ao Lingxin stole a glance at Lu Jun and said calmly, "Master, the Five Jie Di are guarding this mountain. I'm afraid there are some secrets. Would it be inappropriate for us to continue to play here?"

There was worry in the Dragon Girl's eyes, and she was obviously afraid of being involved in some unknown events.

Lu Jun vaguely understood the Dragon Girl's concerns, so he sent a voice message: "This mountain is already in the territory of the East China Sea. Princess Six, why don't you go to the East China Sea to pay a visit to the Dragon King first? I will go to the Dragon Palace myself later."

The Dragon Girl pondered over it again and again, then bowed gracefully: "I hope the Immortal will forgive me. Tomorrow is my uncle's birthday, and I will come to greet him again."

"Sixth Princess, you're too polite."

Lu Jun raised his hand to return the greeting and said with a smile, "What do you mean by forgiveness? Princess, I haven't even thanked you for showing me the way. If you ask me to forgive you for that, wouldn't that make me seem ignorant of etiquette?"

When Ao Lingxin heard this, she knew that Lu Jun did not blame her. After saying goodbye to Lu Jun, she picked up Ao Lie, who was clamoring to play in the mountains, and turned around to jump into the waves of the East China Sea.

"It's better for the Dragon Girl and her brother to leave, so as to avoid other consequences in the future." Lu Jun used a disguise technique and transformed his golden helmet and armor into a crown and brocade clothes. He pretended to be a rich and noble young man who went out for an outing and started to play in the Flower and Fruit Mountain.

Huaguo Mountain is sparsely populated, so there are no flat roads, only a crisscross of narrow and dangerous animal trails.

But this did not pose a problem for Lu Jun.

He climbed rocks and jumped over stones in the mountains, following the mountain stream all the way up until he came to a spiritual valley with birds singing, flowers blooming and lush fruit trees. Only then did he stop.

squeak!
Squeak!

Several mountain monkeys were picking fruits. When they saw someone approaching, they immediately dropped the fruits and looked over with surprise.

"What kind of beast are you?"

A macaque, about five feet tall and covered in orange fur, came up and tugged at the corner of Lu Jun's clothes and his waistband. It said in surprise, "I've lived in the mountains for over ten years and have seen tigers, leopards, wolves, insects, deer, foxes, and eagles, but I've never seen anything like you."

Lu Jun smiled and said, "I am a human." "Human?"

The yellow-haired macaque scratched his ears, looked at Lu Jun carefully for a few times, and nodded. "I remember. From now on, when I meet a hairless monkey like you, I will call you a 'human'!"

A hairless monkey?
Lu Jun was at a loss for words when he heard this. Although the description was a bit straightforward, in the eyes of monkeys, humans really did look like hairless monkeys.

"Human, what are you doing here?" The yellow-haired macaque picked up the fruit again, gathered it in his arms, and said, "Is there nothing to eat? Are you hungry?"

"No."

Lu Jun shook his head and smiled, "I was on the other side of the sea and saw that this mountain had beautiful scenery, so I came here to play."

The yellow-haired macaque was delighted: "Play? Come to our cave, let's play together!"

Lu Jun pretended not to know and asked doubtfully, "In your cave?"

"Yes, yes."

The yellow-haired macaque showed off his expression as he pointed to the waterfall flowing down from the cliffs of the spiritual realm in the valley and said, "Behind this waterfall is a cave called the Water Curtain Cave. It was discovered by our king!"

"Water Curtain Cave?"

Lu Jun knew he had found the right place, so he said, "Now that we're at the master's immortal residence, it would be rude not to pay our respects. Little monkey, you lead the way while I pay my respects to your king."

"Follow me, follow me." The yellow-haired macaque led Lu Jun to the stone cliff beside the stream, protected his head and body, and somersaulted into the water curtain cave behind the waterfall.

The monkey came into the cave and shouted noisily, "My king, my king! A beast called 'man' has come from overseas and wants to visit you!"

"Oh?"

On the white jade throne in the Water Curtain Cave, one eye was as bright as a star, his hairs were like gold, his words were quite polite, he sat and lay very properly, his movements were graceful and agile, and his eyebrows and eyes showed the unruly and mighty Monkey King turned his head and looked over when he heard the words.

His eyes flickered slightly, and he asked playfully, "As the saying goes, 'Courtesy warms the heart, while impoliteness disgusts.' Did he bring any gifts?"

The yellow-haired macaque was stunned for a moment, then shook his head and said, "No, I saw him with empty hands."

"No gifts?"

The Monkey King thought for a moment and said with a smile, "I think he came in a hurry and was not prepared. Let's invite him into the cave and we will welcome him properly."

These words fell.

The monkeys in the Water Curtain Cave immediately started to move, offering melons, peaches, pears and dates. They also brought out sweet grapes, fragrant dates and honey-like cherry beads to entertain the guests.

The yellow-haired macaque rushed out of the cave and beckoned Lu Jun to go in with him. Worried that Lu Jun would be frightened, he taught him, "Just curl up like me and jump in with a somersault. You won't get hurt."

Lu Jun laughed in silence, and auspicious clouds rose under his feet, carrying him into the Water Curtain Cave.

The yellow-haired monkey was stunned and cried out, "I have only seen fish that can crawl and jump, and birds that can swim, but I have never seen a beast that can ride on the clouds!"

In the Water Curtain Cave.

The Monkey King had been waiting for a long time. When he saw Lu Jun coming in, he politely asked, "Where are you from, sir? And what brings you to our land?"
