"The Buddha has decreed that I should seek out those with predestined affinity in the southern continent of Jambudvīpa to journey to the Western Heaven to worship Buddha and obtain the true scriptures. However, how can a mere mortal bear the burden of such a journey, which would take more than ten years? I journeyed eastward and saw an evil dragon hanging in the Eagle Sorrow Gorge of Shepan Mountain. I beg the Jade Emperor to grant his life and allow him to serve as a mount for the pilgrim seeking the scriptures. What do you think, Jade Emperor?"

The Jade Emperor had a stack of memorials in his hand and he casually pulled one out. "Are you talking about Ao Lie, the third son of Ao Run, the Dragon King of the West Sea? This dragon is guilty of disobedience and may be unstable, so he's not worthy of being entrusted with important tasks!"

"Your Majesty, you may not know that in order to gain merit for my journey to the West, the Buddha granted me three hoops. One of them is a golden hoop that can restrain its true nature. A mere evil dragon in the early stage of Taiyi Golden Immortal is nothing to be afraid of under the restraint of this golden hoop."

The Jade Emperor handed the memorial to Guanyin Bodhisattva and said, "Please go and tear this memorial into pieces. This evil dragon will be spared the death penalty and will be at your disposal."

No one would make plans for an evil dragon three hundred years in advance, especially since dragons are already food on the table, so no one cares.

"Even the wisest man can make mistakes!" Guanyin Bodhisattva muttered in his heart.
