Chapter 51 Good Horse and Jade Rabbit
When Bai Furong, who had been knocked unconscious, woke up, she found herself in a speeding carriage, with Baoyue still unconscious beside her.

"Baoyue, Baoyue, wake up, I'm scared!" Furong held Baoyue in her arms, tears streaming down her face.

Baoyue vaguely heard her mistress's voice, and struggled to open her eyes. She saw her mistress holding her and crying, and feeling sorry for her, she immediately sat up.

“Miss, Baoyue is here! Baoyue is here!” Baoyue quickly hugged Furong and comforted her trembling body.

After Furong finally calmed down a bit, Baoyue realized that they were locked in this dilapidated carriage. The carriage was closed, the door was locked, and only a small crack in the side window was left open, barely enough to see what was happening inside.

Baoyue recalled that after they left the Du family, the young lady was going to the clinic. The shortest route from the Du family to the clinic was through the alley next to the back street. But as soon as their carriage got there, they heard a thud. After that, everything went black and she knew nothing more.

"Baoyue, where are we going?! I want to go home, I'm scared. I want to go home!" The violent jolting of the carriage had caused Furong to break down again, and Baoyue didn't know what to do either. The two of them huddled together in the corner of the carriage, comforting each other in fear.

Half an hour later, the carriage finally stopped. Furong was a little dizzy from the jolting, but fortunately the carriage door opened, and Baoyue instinctively shielded Furong behind her.

"You two! Get out of the carriage!" A short, thin man shouted at the two people inside.

Baoyue and Furong were so shocked that they trembled involuntarily. When the thin man saw that the two of them did not move, he lost his patience and jumped onto the carriage. He reached out to grab Bai Furong, but Baoyue, eager to protect her master, pounced on him and bit the thin man's arm.

"Hiss! You brat! How dare you bite me!" The skinny man grabbed Baoyue's hair and threw her off the carriage.

Bao Yue groaned in pain and struggled to get up, but the thin man stomped her to the ground.

"Hey, Li San, aren't you afraid of hurting this girl by being so rough?" The innkeeper came out to greet him, and gave a lewd reminder as he saw the skinny man rudely stepping on Bao Yue's body.

"Hmph! This brat is too fierce. She actually dared to bite me. If I don't teach her a lesson, she'll run away in a couple of days. Then I'll be at an even greater loss." Li San said to the innkeeper with a smile, his small eyes narrowed.

"Tch, I've never seen you, Li San, suffer a loss!" The innkeeper handed Li San the number plates for two rooms in the corner of the backyard, then craned his neck to look inside the carriage, his face showing surprise. "I say, these two you bought this time look like top-quality goods! They must have cost you a lot of money!"

Li San curled his lip, "That's right! If these two girls weren't pretty, how could I have spent a hundred taels to buy them! The main thing is that the girl in the carriage is so beautiful. If she were sold to the Golden Phoenix Pavilion in Huizhou, she could probably be a top courtesan!"

"You've really struck it rich!" The innkeeper's eyes were full of envy, a look that Li San found very pleasing.

He roughly pulled Furong out of the carriage. Furong tried to scream, but Li San grabbed her chin and said, "You brat, shut your mouth. If you dare to scream, see how I deal with you."

Startled, Furong immediately shut her mouth, tears welling up in her eyes and streaming down her face.

Li San grabbed Furong with one hand and picked up Baoyue from the ground with the other, throwing them into the inn's room like they were poultry. "You'd better stay here obediently. If I find out you dare to run away, I'll be the first to break your legs."

After saying that, Li San was still not satisfied, so he tied Furong and Baoyue's hands and feet with rope, binding the two of them to the table leg in the room so they couldn't move.

Li San clapped his hands, then went downstairs satisfied to drink and eat meat.

On the other side, Du Huan rode at full speed for two hours but did not see any suspicious carriages or passersby.

Further ahead lies Huiyang County. Could Furong have already been taken to the county seat? Du Huan's heart sank deeper and deeper. He was terrified, terrified that he would never have the chance to see Furong again.

With red eyes, Du Huan cracked his whip again, but his horse could no longer support itself and collapsed to its knees.

"Jade Rabbit, don't throw a tantrum at a time like this, lives are at stake!" Du Huan tried to pull the Jade Rabbit up again, but the Jade Rabbit turned its head away, completely ignoring its master. It was tired and needed to rest.

Du Huan had no choice but to grit his teeth and leave the Jade Rabbit behind, walking towards Huiyang County.

Fortunately, he hadn't gone far when Lin Yunche and Bai Wanqing caught up with him, "Young Master Du!"

Du Huan turned around and saw two people, one on horseback, galloping towards him. "Miss Bai!" Du Huan seemed to see a light before his eyes. They had two horses and could take him with them.

Wait a minute! One of their horses looks so familiar, isn't that his Jade Rabbit?
Bai Wanqing and Lin Yunche stepped forward. Du Huan first glanced at Bai Wanqing and the horse beneath her, then fixed his gaze on Lin Yunche. He had never seen this man before, but despite being dressed in coarse linen clothes, he possessed an extraordinary air about him.

"This is Lin Yunche, my fiancé!" Bai Wanqing paused for a moment, then introduced him as such.

Lin Yunche already knew the current situation from Bai Wanqing. He raised his eyebrows slightly and clasped his hands in a fist salute to Du Huan. "Young Master Du, let's hurry up and leave. The longer we delay, the more dangerous it may be for Miss Bai."

Du Huan was anxious and nodded in agreement. He instinctively walked towards the familiar Jade Rabbit. He had looked like he couldn't walk just a moment ago, but now he looked energetic again. Bai Wanqing glanced at Du Huan standing beside her without dismounting, and Lin Yunche also looked at Du Huan with suspicion. Was he trying to openly poach her?
Noticing Lin Yunche's unfriendly gaze, Du Huan quickly explained, "Miss Bai, please don't misunderstand, this is my horse—Jade Rabbit!"

After Du Huan finished speaking, he didn't forget to touch the Jade Rabbit's face, but the Jade Rabbit was quite uncooperative, turning its head away and taking several steps back.

Du Huan was incredulous. He quickly turned to look at Lin Yunche, who was staring intently at him with narrowed eyes. "Young Master Lin, don't misunderstand, this really is my horse!"

Seeing this, Bai Wanqing jumped off her horse and made way for Du Huan. But as soon as Du Huan walked over, Yutu knelt down again, looking like she didn't want to leave.

"Young Master Du, is this your horse?" Lin Yunche raised an eyebrow and asked. Du Huan looked at the jade rabbit awkwardly, cursing in its ear to no avail. Helpless, Du Huan had no choice but to give up his horse.

"Then please give me a ride, Miss Bai." As soon as Du Huan finished speaking, he felt a murderous aura shooting from behind him.

Bai Wanqing walked over, and the jade rabbit obediently stood up. Just as Du Huan was about to mount his horse, Lin Yunche coughed twice.

"Ahem! Young Master Du, how about we ride together?"

Two men riding one horse! Although it was Lin Yunche who made the suggestion, he felt very awkward about it, and Du Huan was even more embarrassed. But considering Furong's current situation, they couldn't care less about that.

"Then I'll have to trouble you, Young Master Lin." Du Huan mounted his horse, his chest pressed directly against Lin Yunche's back, causing Lin Yunche to tense up.

Du Huan's body also began to tense up. The two men's hearts were already churning with emotions, and Du Huan didn't even dare to lift his head.

"Hold on tight!" Lin Yunche pulled on the reins and charged forward. Du Huan nearly fell off the horse, startled, and quickly grabbed Lin Yunche's waist. The two grown men froze in place.

Bai Wanqing didn't notice anything unusual about the two of them, and simply shouted to Lin Yunche, "Hurry up!"

Lin Yunche swung his two stick-like arms and rode off at full speed.

Fortunately, they were not far from Huiyang County, and the three of them arrived in the county town in less than half an hour.

"This county town is so big, where are we supposed to start looking!" Du Huan was so worried that he lost all sense of direction.

Lin Yunche remained calm. "Your Du family must have business here too. Go and ask around. Maybe you can find out who's been doing shady business around here!"

Du Huan thought it made sense and hurriedly went to find someone.

Bai Wanqing looked around and said, "I'll go ask around on the street; maybe someone knows something!"

Lin Yunche did not stop him. "Go ahead! If there is any news, we will meet in front of the county government office."

The county government office? Bai Wanqing looked at Lin Yunche, who calmly replied, "If we don't go to the county government office, do you know where else in this county town we can go?"

Bai Wanqing pursed her lips. Lin Yunche was right. She then pulled Yutu toward the bustling main street.

Lin Yunche, on the other hand, was very focused and headed straight for the county magistrate's residence.

Bai Wanqing walked down the street. Huiyang County belonged to Huizhou, and life in Huizhou was much better than in Huaizhou. So Huiyang County was much more prosperous than Huai'an County. Even though it was already evening, there were still many people on the street. But the people who kidnapped Furong could not have swaggered through here with their people unless they were in a carriage.

Bai Wanqing walked up to an older woman selling steamed buns with a smile. "Auntie, your steamed buns smell so good! I could smell the aroma from far away."

When the woman selling steamed buns saw that it was a pretty young woman, she praised her and enthusiastically introduced herself, "I've been making these steamed buns for decades. As for the taste, not only in Huiyang County, but even in the whole north, I'm one of the best."

"Then, Auntie, I'd like four steamed buns." Bai Wanqing took out some copper coins and asked the aunt for steamed buns. Seeing Bai Wanqing's words and actions, the aunt knew that she must be a young lady from a wealthy family. "Come often if you like! My steamed buns are excellent."

After receiving the steamed buns, Bai Wanqing quietly asked the auntie selling them, "Auntie, are there any inns in Huiyang County that are shady establishments?"

The woman selling steamed buns was stunned, looking at Bai Wanqing as if she were a fool. "Girl, why are you looking for a shady inn? You're not thinking of going there, are you? Once you go in, you'll never come out."
