Dragon Tribulation of All Realms

Chapter 29 How can this god be so useless?

Chapter 29: Why is this god no longer a god?

Faith and will.

Dragon priests can indeed obtain and use the power of faith.

There are many dormant dragon priests in the many ancient Nord tombs scattered throughout Skyrim. During the long seal, they rely on the worship of the tomb ghouls to maintain and even enhance their magic power as undead.

This is a highly mature technology, and the efficiency of converting willpower is even comparable to that of the gods in the D&D system. Because ghouls are essentially soulless corpses, even if they can gather new souls through the magic and memories of their past lives, they are still slightly weaker than the black souls possessed by real mortals. As a provider of faith, their efficiency is truly not very good.

After all, in Skyrim, Tamriel, and Nirn, gaining faith is no easy task. Demon gods, high-ranking spellcasters, national powers, the numerous Holy Spirit Churches, and even many demons and monsters hidden in the corners of the world all place great value on the faith of mortals. After all, sufficient faith is essential for ascending to godhood.

The apparent reason for the civil war in Skyrim was not the belief in Talos, was it?
But the Earth is different.

Faith on Earth is very cheap.

Because Earth currently doesn't have a legitimate god, and even before Duneville appeared, there might not have been a single legitimate demon or monster. In other words, the billions of people on this planet are all ownerless weights of faith!

Wu Chen lowered his eyes slightly.

He felt as if the clouds had cleared and the sun was shining.

Even though the faith that Earthlings, who have never come into contact with magical elements and probably don't even have a faint soul, can offer is negligible compared to that of the Nirn people, but power is power.

This power is even stronger than the standing stone.

A sufficient number of believers can dramatically increase Wu Chen's magic power reserves. If these believers continue to worship, they can even temporarily increase his magic power reserves and enhance his computing power until he reaches the true average level of Dragon Priest!
Wu Chen took a silent breath, suppressing the excitement and joy in his heart. A single sample wasn't enough to fully verify the efficacy of the power of faith. Going to attack Xingping Mental Hospital now would probably be suicidal anyway, so...

"Can you use a gun?" Wu Chen glanced at his first believer and handed her the shotgun.

The bond of faith was proof. This girl named Hayakawa Shiori was truly willing to do anything. And this was palpable loyalty, like a system panel appearing out of thin air.

"Yes... I've learned it before." The girl's face was full of surprise, and she subconsciously hugged the shotgun that Wu Chen handed her tightly. Although she looked a little clumsy and a little nervous.

Just know how to use it.

As for other aspects, there are naturally ways to make up for them.

Wu Chen nodded, and the soothing spell in his hand changed. The motivational spell, which could slightly increase one's own attributes and boost morale, could naturally also be used on allies. It just had to be called something else.

Illusion: Courage Inspiration

Its operating principle is similar to some of the support spells in the D&D series, but it achieves a combined effect: the tenacity of a bear, the brute strength of an ox, the grace of a cat, the majesty of an eagle, the cunning of a fox, and the wisdom of an owl. These six spells, combined and then reduced in effectiveness by approximately 30 to 40 percent, create the effect of courage. It brings all-encompassing power, while also making the recipient fearless and heroic during the spell's effects.

It’s not entirely a bad thing that Earthlings can’t resist.

While having no resistance to spell effects, the enhanced spells will be able to achieve the maximum effectiveness as designed.

When the ball of pale red light was pressed against the girl's forehead, her eyes suddenly lit up. The timidity, cowardice, fear, and confusion that had previously inhabited her all vanished in an instant. Her entire aura soared, as if she had suddenly grown half a head taller. Even her previously awkward grip on the gun became steady and standard, driven by instinct.

"This, this is—" She stared at her hands in disbelief, her eyes gradually filled with piety and fanaticism. And just from the effect of this spell alone, the faith and will that surged from her mind increased significantly!
A devout believer was transforming into a fanatic. In just such a short time, the girl named Hayakawa Shiori had already given her life to Wu Chen. Such a profit was enough to make Wu Chen nod slightly in satisfaction.

"Follow, and if you encounter a moving enemy, fire freely."

"Yes!" the girl nodded vigorously, her face flushed. "I will never let your divine power down!"

Very good. Then keep moving forward.

The search for the weapons cache went much smoother than expected, as so many people shared the same goal. Consequently, the path was littered with mutilated corpses. As for the few undead obstacles he encountered along the way, they were unable to slow Wu Chen down even slightly.

Fireball explodes when it's time to do so.

In the narrow confines, they engaged in combat using ice storms and melee weapons. The most troublesome monster was a skeleton spider lurking near the weapons depot, but defeating it didn't take much effort. Occasionally, the few low-level undead that Wu Chen ignored were also shot down by the magic-enhanced girl, until they were reduced to smithereens.

I don't know if the enemies defeated by the believers can be counted as my own - but there are plenty of monsters in Fuluo anyway, so there is no need to be too particular about it.

Wu Chen arrived at the armory.

"God, please allow me to lead the way for you—" The girl volunteered to lead the way, but Wu Chen casually pushed her behind him. The police officers hiding in the armory, trying to resist stubbornly, had long since transformed into undead spirits, and when Wu Chen pushed the door open, they roared and pounced on him.

He swung his fist, knocking the one in front backward. He stepped forward, grabbed the neck, twisted it, and pulled it out. The sharp undead claws were unable to penetrate the iron armor. He raised his foot and kicked directly at the knee, while the girl at his side stepped forward and slammed the butt of her rifle into the undead skull.

Once, twice, until there was complete silence.

And a complete arsenal of weapons finally fell into Wu Chen's hands.

There are more things than expected.

There were all sorts of pistols and rifles, as well as sniper rifles and submachine guns. Although he didn't know if Fuluo had a special police unit, Wu Chen had found a chain gun mounted on an infantry fighting vehicle.

It was heavy, but Wu Chen didn't feel it hindered his mobility when he lifted it with one hand. The 25mm caliber ammunition was more than enough to deal with most of the undead monsters he had seen before. Besides that, there were also grenades of varying weights and even a rocket launcher.

It’s time to go to the biochemical place next door to fight the tyrant - Wu Chen looked at his own clothing combination and felt that he might be more in line with the definition of a tyrant.

but--

"Put on your riot gear." Wu Chen glanced at his followers and pointed to the heavy-duty police riot gear stacked in the armory closet. The armor was comprehensive, sturdy, and thick, with composite armor plates that provided excellent protection for vital parts of the human body. While it wasn't effective against stronger undead, at least wearing it wouldn't kill them at the hands of smaller enemies or in the aftermath.

It's much better than the casual outfit the girl is wearing.

"Yes! My Lord God."

The girl unhesitatingly ripped open the collar of her coat and donned her protective gear right in front of Wu Chen. Wu Chen initially intended to avoid his gaze, displaying his old-fashioned gentlemanly demeanor. However, before he could even think about it, the worthless thought was shrugged off.

You have already decided to become a god, so why are you still fussing here?
Some things are bound to happen, sooner or later. It's better to be generous. Compared with the self-consciousness of those in power, the so-called gentlemanly manners are useless.

His eyes casually swept over the girl, savoring her beauty and sensing the shifts in his inner thoughts. He was somewhat surprised to find that he felt neither shame nor desire. He simply thought the girl before him was indeed quite beautiful, with a nice figure. And this didn't even stop him from vigilantly observing his surroundings.

"My Lord God, what should I do next?"

The girl completed his instructions without distraction and waited for his next move.

Wu Chen tilted his head and glanced at the core of the ritual he perceived. The oppressive negative energy stemming from the death spiral hadn't increased significantly over time. Perhaps the ritual had reached its limit, its accumulated resources saturated.

good news.

"Go," Wu Chen turned around. "Save my other believers from the ruins and rubble."
