Chapter 10 Honor Communications and Marshal's Orders

"Honor Newsletter!"

The guards' shouts woke everyone up.

The red light was like a smoke signal, a beacon, which directly detonated the theater headquarters that had been cut off from the front line for a whole morning.

Brigadier General Brian rushed out of the staff headquarters and, after pushing aside several soldiers who stood in his way, he started shouting:

"Where's the analyst? Confirm the source and identity of the sender immediately!"

The analysts carrying the heavy wooden box quickly set up the equipment, but before they could finish the calculations, a communicator who had served in the army for some years completed the entire work using his old-fashioned glasses analyzer.

"Report! This is a message from the 502nd Battalion!"

He took out a notebook, wrote down all the encrypted messages contained in the red light in the form of dots and dashes, and handed it to the anxious Brigadier General Brian.

"Give me!"

Brian snatched the notebook away, his bulging eyes glowing bright red, perhaps because of anger or the light.

"The Imperial Army... the 502nd Battalion camp has sent a message: the Farlans are attempting to occupy all border outposts in the southern theater of operations. Their goal is to break through the southern border with the Empire and advance further inland. This information has been confirmed by Lieutenant Ryan Flegg, an infantry lieutenant of the 502nd Battalion. The sender..."

"Lieutenant Mia von Brinkmann..."

Two familiar faces almost immediately appeared in Brigadier General Brian's mind. One was a serious and rigid-looking girl, and the other was a young man who always looked lazy.

They were all young officers that Brian had recruited from the Army Officers University in the Imperial Capital. Both of them were from aristocratic families, and one of them was the child of the head of a confidential project at the Imperial Military Equipment Development Institute.

It took Brian a lot of effort to convince the child's family, but the attack by the Farlans was so sudden that he only remembered it now.

"and many more."

Suddenly, Brian discovered that the beam of light in the sky that was flashing with dazzling light also had a hint of complex patterns.

Those are patterns that can only be produced using the medium bestowed by His Majesty the Emperor himself.

"Somebody come!"

Realizing the seriousness of the matter, Brian immediately raised his hand and called his adjutant.

A middle-aged man in a major's uniform immediately appeared beside him.

"Inform General Walter von Bergmann immediately that our military district is the target of the main force of the Farland Army! Copy this to the Imperial Capital General Headquarters, and send it directly to Marshal Hindenburg in the name of the military district general staff!"

"Yes!"

The adjutant immediately turned and left, and a short while later, the same message was sent out orally and by telegram.

But Brian didn't dare to sit idle.

He hurried back to the General Staff and ordered several warrant officers to hang up the defense map of the entire southwestern border of the empire.

Soon, the entire wall was filled with a six-meter square map.

A group of staff officers stood behind Brian, looking at the huge map with him.

As one of the few senior military officers who had personally experienced the entire process of the Schlieffen Plan from drafting to finalization, Bryan was well aware of the huge impact that this special combat plan would have.

The Empire is a thoroughly continental army country. Over the past hundred years, it has swept across the entire Aurora continent with its powerful army, but it has also forged deep hatred with almost all the surrounding countries.

The empire had to ensure the integrity of its territory and national security by deploying a large number of troops along its borders, but these troops were clearly unable to withstand a full-scale attack from any hostile neighboring country.

To this end, the Empire reorganized its most important elite troops and main forces into a mobile attack army group called the Central Headquarters Force.

However, unlike the Empire's internal strategy of using the Central Army as a fire brigade, the core of the Schlieffen Plan is to let the Central Army set out directly from the northernmost border of the Empire and break through several small countries entrenched between the Empire and the Farland Republic.

The plan called for the troops to penetrate directly into the center of Farlan by surprise, and use their mobility advantage to move southward, completely separating Farlan's main force from its homeland, and then cooperating with the four military regions on the border to carry out a encirclement and suppression.

This was a rather bold operation. If successful, the empire's position on the continent would be completely consolidated. However, if it failed, the consequences would start with the most basic destruction of the country and would have no upper limit.

What's even worse is that the Farlans' offensive route is exactly the opposite of the Schlieffen Plan.

They're going to break through from the south...

Brigadier General Bryan suddenly shuddered.

It was clearly midsummer, but he felt as if he were falling into an icy cave.

At this time, his adjutant came back.

"Brigadier General," the middle-aged man standing beside him handed him a thick stack of orders, "This is the order from the Admiral and the Marshal."

Blake took the white papers and read all the contents carefully.

He then handed the documents to the staff officer closest to him, and the documents were passed from one of them to another.

After a while, maybe five minutes, maybe half an hour.

After all the staff officers confirmed the contents of the document, Brian turned around, with his back to the map, and looked at all the staff officers present.

The smoke in the staff meeting room had mostly dissipated by now, and even the rookie who had been assigned here only yesterday did not make a coughing sound.

Brian looked around at the group of middle and senior military officers, some young and some old.

he said.

"By direct orders of the Reich High Command, Field Marshal Hindenburg."

"From now on, our Fifth Military District will officially become the primary front of resistance against the invading forces of the Farlan Republic!"

"From now on, mobilize all transportation capacity, including rail, road, and waterways! Complete war mobilization within twelve hours! Deploy all available forces along the 502-kilometer-long border stretch from the nd Battalion Camp to the border of the Talia Republic!"

"The Imperial Central Army has confirmed the emergency transfer order. The first batch of reinforcements will arrive at our military district in two days at the earliest. Before that, we must not allow even a single beast from Farlan to break through the front line!"

The loud and high-pitched voice continued to echo.

The officers responded immediately:

"Yes!"

There was no need for Brian to waste time. The projector used to deduce tactics lit up immediately, and the huge map was immediately divided into thousands of small grids. All the staff officers performed their duties, changing the previous chaotic situation.

at the same time.

Brian grabbed his adjutant again.

"I'll give you six trucks and a reconnaissance plane. Immediately dispatch a full infantry company. By tonight, I want to see Lieutenant Flieger and Second Lieutenant Brinkmann from the 502nd Battalion appear before me alive!"
