A farming master in Stardew Valley
Chapter 12 Old Community Center
Chapter 12 Old Community Center
Looking at Lewis's eyes, Leon felt a lot of pressure and quickly nodded in agreement. He also sped up his eating speed. As soon as he finished eating, he made a proposal to Lewis.
"I think we should go check out the old community center."
"Okay." Lewis didn't seem to be hungry. After putting down the half-eaten sandwich in his hand, he stood up and took Leon out the door.
This time they didn't drive. Lewis took Leon on foot towards the north, crossed the square of Pelican Town, and walked for twenty minutes before they finally arrived in front of a community center that had been mostly covered by vines and looked a bit shabby.
"Here we are. This is the former community center. I haven't been here for a long time. Every time I see its dilapidated state due to lack of care, I feel ashamed."
Standing at the door of the community center, Lewis spoke with an embarrassed look.
Leon didn't say anything, but came forward curiously and looked at the locked door: "Can I see what's going on inside?"
"Of course." Lewis immediately took out his key, unlocked the rusty door, and threw the big lock aside. "I don't plan to lock it up anymore. If you ever want to go on an adventure date with a girl you know in town, maybe you could use this old community center. The rats inside will definitely make your relationship heat up quickly."
Listening to Lewis's frivolous but very reasonable joke, Lyon looked a little helpless, but he still joined in first.
As soon as you enter the door, you are greeted by the pungent smell of damp wood. The sunlight shines in through the door, making the dust floating in the air extremely conspicuous, forming a bright passage, a standard Tyndall effect.
Lewis followed in shortly after, looked around the hall, and sighed again.
"Hey, has it become so dilapidated?"
Just as Leon was about to say something, he saw a round creature the size of an apple suddenly appear on the tattered floor behind Lewis. Four lines similar to hands and feet extended from both sides of this apple-shaped creature, and its body had rough facial features. It looked cute at first glance, but after taking a look, he felt a sense of weirdness.
Faced with this situation, Lyon forced himself to remain calm and did not show any panic. After all, before coming here, he had already prepared to see this thing. Now that he really saw it, he would not lose his composure.
"What are you looking at?" Seeing Leon staring intently behind him, Lewis turned his head in confusion, but when Lewis opened his mouth, the unknown creature disappeared, so Lewis could only see the tattered and rotten wooden floor.
"Nothing, I saw a mouse." Leon said perfunctorily, but after he said this, he felt something kicking his instep. He lowered his head and saw that the little thing that had disappeared before appeared again at the back of his heel. The feeling of being kicked was caused by this little guy.
Obviously, this little thing was a little unhappy when it heard that Leon mistook it for a mouse, so it took a trivial revenge.
Leon ignored the other party's meaning, and when Lewis turned around, the little guy really disappeared again.
"It's normal to have rats. After all, it has been in disrepair and no one lives here. The environment is also dark and damp. This is undoubtedly the favorite place for rats." Lewis said, walking to the center of the hall and looking around for a long time before speaking.
"Leon, tell me, is there really a need for a community center like this? It's already so dilapidated."
"Yes." After confirming that he could see those strange little things here, Leon also became interested in this old community center. "After all, Pelican Town has to have a community center, right? Building a warehouse in such a beautiful location always feels strange, doesn't it?" "I don't know. Restoring this old community center will cost a lot of money." Lewis said bitterly, "But Stardew Valley's finances are not good right now."
"We'll work it out when the time comes, and I'm very interested in this community center," Lyon said.
"You want to repair this place?" Lewis became excited when he heard this.
However, Lyon did not give a direct answer to this. Lewis's series of performances and words were all hinting that he should find a way, but he was unwilling to let Lewis take advantage of him so easily.
"No, I just thought your suggestion before you came in was very good."
"Haha." Lewis laughed awkwardly twice, not knowing what to say.
Lyon ignored Lewis's meaning and set his sights on an area next to the fireplace in the community center where the soil under the wooden boards was completely exposed. There was an arched hut built entirely of wood and vines, which was a building with an architectural style similar to that of an igloo.
Under Lyon's gaze, the cabin was calm, and Lewis noticed Lyon's gaze again, and saw this strange cabin, and then explained.
"This thing might have been sneaked in by Jas and Vincent. They are two good kids from the town."
"It's okay, I just think this building is interesting. Now that we've finished looking at the old community center, let's go." Leon retracted his gaze and then suggested to Lewis.
"Okay, let's leave. Like I said before, I don't plan to lock the door. Let's just keep the old community center open." Lewis nodded, and he and Leon left the community center one after another.
"Are you going back to the farm now?" Lewis asked Leon outside the community center.
"I plan to walk around the town and get to know more of the residents here," Leon replied.
"That's good. Now that you've moved to the farm, you're a part of the town. It'll be good to get to know more people in the town. That way, you won't be embarrassed when you come to the town for festivals in the future because there's no one you know. I'll go back first. I still have financial statements to sort out." Lewis didn't doubt what he said, and he hurried away after saying this.
After Lewis left, Lyon did not return to the old community center immediately. Instead, he wandered around for a while and looked at a small park not far from the community center. Compared with the dilapidated community center, this park was well maintained.
There are sand pools, swings and slides for children to play in. There is also a fountain in the center. A blonde girl is standing by the fountain, lazily enjoying the sun.
Leon noticed her, and she naturally noticed Leon too, but before she could ask Leon who this strange face was, Leon turned his back and left.
"Strange guy." The blonde girl muttered as she looked at Leon's back, "He's quite handsome though."
