A farming master in Stardew Valley
Chapter 15 Strange Girl
Chapter 15 Strange Girl
"Prepare dinner." Leon answered truthfully. Although the girl with purple hair did not introduce herself, Leon was still able to guess her identity because of her unique hair color.
"So, you inherited this old farm, right?" The girl looked at Leon for a moment, then took a small step back and explained.
"I'm sorry, although I know that someone has inherited this farm, I didn't know you were here, so I came here rashly."
“It’s okay, but it’s not safe for a girl to come here at night.” Leon shook his head and talked to the other party: “Aren’t you scared?”
"No, I like the dark night and quiet places. Before you came here, this farm was my favorite place to come at night because it is quiet and no one disturbs me." The girl replied, and then asked awkwardly.
"Do you think I'm weird?"
"No, everyone has their own preferences." Leon replied, shaking his head.
"Thank you for your understanding. By the way, my name is Abigail. What's your name?" The girl looked a little happy when she heard that. Then she was no longer restrained and walked to Leon and asked.
"Leon." Leon replied, "Nice to meet you."
"Yeah, me too. There are very few strangers settling in Stardew Valley. Everyone in the town is a familiar face. It's really nice to meet new people." Abigail nodded in agreement.
Leon smiled, and seeing that Abigail had no intention of leaving, he asked, “Have you had dinner? Do you want to eat together?”
"Are you asking me out? It seems like we just met for the first time." Abigail looked at Leon with some confusion and asked back.
Lyon felt a bit of a headache when he heard this. He had forgotten that the cultural traditions here were more Western. He just habitually used the politeness of Eastern culture to greet people, which led to the other party misunderstanding.
After all, in the West, apart from close friends, only couples invite each other to have a meal together.
So Leon hurriedly explained: “Sorry, that’s not what I meant, I just thought it might be more lively to eat together.”
"You're so weird, but you should be a good person." Abigail complained to Leon, but accidentally gave Leon a good guy card.
"Why do you say that?" Leon was also a little confused. How come he got a good guy card for no apparent reason?
"It's my intuition. I can't really explain it, but I think you're not a bad person, even though you're a bit weird." Abigail explained with some hesitation.
Leon shrugged when he heard that, but he didn't care what the other party said about him being weird. He glanced at the meat porridge that had begun to steam and exuded a meaty aroma, and asked again: "So, do you want to stay and eat something? If not, then I still think you should go back early. It's not safe for a girl to go out at night."
"Since you have invited me twice so warmly, I will eat something." Abigail hesitated for a moment after hearing this, but finally chose to stay.
This surprised Leon a little, but he didn't say anything. When he learned that Abigail was going to stay, he returned to the cabin and got an extra set of tableware.
When I came back, I saw Abigail squatting beside the fire pit with great interest, poking the burning firewood in the fire pit with a branch.
"You know, I've wanted to try building a bonfire like this in the wild for a long time. That's why I came over when I saw you." Seeing Leon coming back, Abigail immediately stood up and explained.
"So, you're an adventurous girl?" Leon concluded. "Well, you could say I don't like a quiet life. I always feel like I should do something special. That way, when I'm old, I won't have to regret having lived such an ordinary life." Abigail nodded happily, clearly agreeing with Leon's statement.
Leon opened his mouth to say something, but considering that it was only the first time he met the other party, many things he said were not suitable for him to say, so he chose to keep silent. After putting down the cutlery, he continued to pay attention to the flames in the fire pit and the meat porridge in the soup pot.
The two of them just sat there in silence, one squatting and the other standing, looking at the fire pit and the soup pot. Leon felt a little embarrassed, but Abigail glanced at Leon from time to time, then at the soup pot, looking eager to try.
"Almost. How much do you want to eat?"
Lifting the lid of the soup pot, Leon looked at the completely stewed shredded meat and expanded rice grains inside. He grabbed a handful of soil from the ground and threw it into the fire pit to put out the fire. Then he took out a soup spoon and began to pour porridge into the bowl.
"Half a bowl is fine. I can't eat too much at night," Abigail replied.
Upon hearing this, Leon filled half a bowl for Abigail, most of which was shredded meat. After all, he was entertaining guests, so he had to show some sincerity.
The simple meat porridge only contains salt and oil, plus the taste of pork, which is actually not very rich. However, the steaming porridge combined with the shredded pork that has absorbed the rice soup and is stewed until it is tender has a unique flavor.
Anyway, Lyon enjoyed the meal very much and drank two large bowls in a row.
Compared to Lyon's rough speed, Abigail looked much more ladylike. She scooped up the food with a spoon, blew it to cool it down, and then put it into her mouth, savoring it slowly, bite by bite, without any special expression on her face.
"Is it delicious?" After eating until he was 90% full, Leon put down the ceramic bowl and asked Abigail.
"It's just so-so." Abigail answered as she put the last spoonful of porridge in the bowl into her mouth.
“You’re welcome.” Leon smiled and took the bowl from Abigail’s hand: “Since you’ve finished eating, let’s go back.”
"Okay." Abigail nodded and actually agreed to Leon's proposal. Then Leon saw the purple-haired girl turn around and leave without looking back.
Seeing this scene, Leon was speechless, but he just glanced at the other person's back and returned to the wooden house with the bowl.
After cleaning the bowls and pots, Leon put everything away, washed up, and went straight to bed to rest.
Since taking over the farm, Leon found that he could not stay up late for a single day. It didn't even need to be past midnight. He would feel extremely sleepy around eight or nine o'clock.
Anyway, there is nothing to do at night, so sleeping is a good choice.
When Leon woke up naturally after a good sleep the next day, he opened his eyes. There was no sunlight outside the window, and he felt a little groggy.
Leon stood up and walked to the bed. He looked at the sky, then raised his wrist to check the time on his watch to make sure he didn't get up too early.
"It's going to rain."
