A farming master in Stardew Valley
Chapter 61 Ancient Mystery
Chapter 61 Ancient Mystery
After leaving the blacksmith shop, Lyon rode his bicycle past the library and stopped unconsciously to admire the building, which covers a large area but has an exterior full of celebrity style, with green walls, purple roofs and various hanging plants. He parked his bicycle under the wooden corridor under the museum window.
After pushing open the door of the library and entering, Leon saw the front desk at the innermost end of the library hall and a bearded man with glasses sitting behind the front desk holding a book.
Lyon continued to look elsewhere and found that the library was very large, but there was not much free space after entering. The space on the right was basically occupied by rows of bookshelves.
Although Lewis said that the library's exhibits had been swept away by the former director, the books on the shelves did not seem to be liked by the former director who had fled. At least from Lyon's perspective, the books on the shelves were still full, with only a few empty spaces.
"Hello, sir, how can I help you?"
Leon's appearance was also noticed by the current librarian who was reading a book. He put down the book in his hand, stood up and asked Leon.
"It's okay, sir, I'm just taking a look." Lyon explained.
The librarian looked Leon up and down and said, "You must be the new farmer everyone in town has been talking about lately."
"How did you guess that?" Leon asked curiously.
"Because black hair is not common in Stardew Valley, welcome to the library, Mr. Lyon, right? My name is Gunther, and I'm the current librarian of Pelican Town."
After Gunther finished speaking, he walked around the front desk, walked in front of Leon and said, "If Mr. Leon has nothing else to do, can you spare a little time to listen to my request?"
"Just tell me." Leon nodded to indicate that he was listening. Gunther smiled, then walked in front of Leon, and took Leon around the rows of bookshelves and the desks and benches where the providers sat, and came to the exhibition hall at the easternmost end of the library.
Looking at the empty exhibition hall, Gunther sighed, "I'm sorry to have you witness this. The previous curator shamelessly swept away all the antiques and unique minerals on display here and fled Pelican Town, so there's nothing left here now."
“Well, I heard Lewis talk about this.”
"I want to revitalize the library's exhibition hall and collection room, but because of the library's maintenance and cleaning work, I don't have much time to go out, so I would like to entrust you with a task, which is to help me find those special minerals that are representative of the ancient artifacts and minerals buried throughout Stardew Valley."
At this point, Gunther looked at Leon seriously and bowed deeply. "Of course, I only need one copy. Mr. Leon, you can keep the rest for your own collection or sell them. It's no problem. In return for supplementing the collection in the exhibition hall, I will give you my own private collection as a thank you gift."
"I know nothing about antiques, and even if I find one, I might not be able to confirm whether it is valuable." Although Lyon knew what the other party meant, he still showed hesitation.
Of course, this is just a disguise. The real purpose is to make Gunther understand that he also has difficulties so that he can gain more benefits.
"I understand. After all, antiques can sometimes be no different from garbage in the eyes of those who don't have relevant research or understanding. So, as a prerequisite for asking for your help, I will grant Mr. Leon some special powers."
After that, Gunther took out a piece of bone from his dark blue suit and handed it to Leon.
"Take it, Mr. Lyon. It contains some special powers. It can let you see some secrets hidden in the soil and make you notice the true appearance of those covered antiquities. With it, it will be much easier for you to find antiquities. Of course, even after completing the collection of the exhibition hall, I will not take it back. From this moment on, it is yours." Lyon took the bone fragment, and the next second, the system actually showed a long-lost prompt.
"Ancient Mystery (???): Holding it, you can see traces from the ancient times. Now you can find ancient spots."
Following the system's prompt, the bone fragment turned into powder in Leon's hand. This abrupt scene was seen by Gunther, but Gunther did not show any surprise. Instead, he smiled and said to Leon.
"I'll leave everything to you."
"Yes, I will." Leon nodded, and his previous doubts were resolved.
This special ability does not appear in the game. When players enter the game, ancient spots will be randomly generated on the land of the open-air map of Stardew Valley. By digging them up with a hoe, they can obtain various things such as antiques, stones, or clay.
The general image of an ancient spot is a piece of open ground with three dangling earthworm-like tentacles emerging from it. This is what distinguishes ordinary land from ancient spots. There is also a green, grass-like ancient spot that can dig out unique seeds, which can dig out seeds suitable for farming in that season.
Leon had consciously looked for it when he was collecting in the wild before, but he had never seen this special land. He originally thought that there were no ancient spots in the real Stardew Valley. Now he understands that finding ancient spots actually requires a medium.
Thinking of this, Leon looked at Gunther unconsciously. He didn't expect that this librarian was not a simple person.
Gunther also noticed Leon's gaze, but did not show any special expression. He still asked with a smile: "What's wrong? Is there something wrong with my face?"
"Mr. Gunther, where did you get this bone fragment?" Seeing Gunther pretending to be confused, Lyon asked directly. There was no way, Lyon was very curious.
"A friend gave it to me." Gunther answered the question unexpectedly to Leon's surprise.
"Friend?" Leon looked at Gunther in confusion. Who is this hidden boss?
"Well, my friend, he's a guy with a rather evil taste. If you have a chance in the future, you might get to know him." Gunther glanced at Leon and then added.
"I still have to sort out the bookshelves. If you have nothing to do, you can read in the library. Although the books in the library are all available on the market, some of the knowledge may be helpful to you."
After saying that, without waiting for Leon to speak, Gunther went into the bookshelf and disappeared from Leon's sight.
Leon looked at the bone powder in his hand, holding it tightly to avoid spilling it and dirtying the wooden floor of the library. He then began to look for a trash can in the library, intending to throw away the bone powder that had lost its power.
