Chapter 227 226: Don’t order!
Ling Xiao's consciousness slowly recovered in the chaos. He only remembered that he was sucked into an unknown space crack by a powerful force during a mysterious ceremony.

When he opened his eyes again, he saw a gloomy and dilapidated city scene.

Most of the glass windows of the high-rise buildings were broken, and the streets were filled with a disgusting stench, as if the whole city was shrouded in the breath of death.

He struggled to get up from the ground and found himself lying in a pile of rubble.

His clothes were torn and he had multiple injuries, but fortunately, he did not lose consciousness.

Ling Xiao looked around, trying to figure out where he was.

However, the surrounding environment made him feel extremely uneasy - everything here seemed so strange, yet with a sense of déjà vu.

Suddenly, a low roar came from not far away, interrupting Ling Xiao's thoughts.

He turned around suddenly and saw a bloated monster slowly walking out of a dilapidated building.

Its skin was a sickening grey-green, covered in rotting wounds, and it emitted a foul stench.

Its eyes were empty and lifeless, yet revealed a fierce murderous intent, staring straight at Ling Xiao.

"Zombies!"

Ling Xiao took a deep breath. He had seen descriptions of this kind of monster in some ancient books, but he never thought that he would actually encounter one.

He subconsciously wanted to escape, but soon found that his legs had become numb due to the long coma and he could not move quickly.

The zombie seemed to be aware of Ling Xiao's presence. It let out a shrill roar, then took heavy steps and rushed towards Ling Xiao quickly.

Ling Xiao's heart tightened, he knew he couldn't just sit there and wait for death.

He quickly recalled the fighting techniques he had learned in his mind, and at the same time tried to regain his strength. Just as the zombie was about to pounce on Ling Xiao, he suddenly jumped up and dodged the zombie's attack.

The zombie missed and fell heavily to the ground. Ling Xiao took the opportunity to pick up a brick from the ground and smashed it hard on the zombie's head.

The brick smashed a bloody hole in the zombie's head. The zombie let out a scream, then collapsed to the ground, motionless.

"call--"

Ling Xiao breathed a sigh of relief. He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and secretly felt lucky that he was still alive.

However, he knew that this was only a temporary victory, and there must be more zombies in the city. He had to find a way to escape from here as soon as possible, otherwise he would die here sooner or later.

Ling Xiao began to look around for useful items. He found a rusty dagger. Although it didn't look very sharp, it was still a good weapon in this situation.

He held the dagger in his hand and walked cautiously towards the end of the street. The street was dead silent, with only the humming of the wind blowing through the broken walls.

Ling Xiao's nerves remained tense, he dared not relax even a little. Suddenly, he heard faint footsteps coming from the front. He immediately stopped, held his breath, and looked ahead vigilantly. A figure slowly emerged from the darkness, and Ling Xiao's heart skipped a beat. He thought it was another zombie.

However, when he saw the man's face clearly, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes.

"who are you?"

Ling Xiao asked loudly. The man raised his head, revealing a young but tired face. His eyes were filled with a hint of vigilance, but also a hint of hope.

"My name is Li Ming," he whispered, "and I am the only survivor in this city."

Ling Xiao and Li Ming stood on the street, staring at each other. Li Ming's presence comforted Ling Xiao, but he remained vigilant.

He knew that in this zombie-infested city, trust needed to be built carefully.

"How did you survive?" Ling Xiao asked with a hint of curiosity in his tone.

Li Ming sighed, a trace of pain flashing in his eyes. "I've been hiding in a basement, relying on stored food and water to survive for so long. But I know this isn't a solution. Sooner or later, the zombies will find me."

Ling Xiao nodded. He understood Li Ming's predicament. They needed a safer place, a place where they could temporarily hide from the zombies.

He looked around and found a half-collapsed building in the distance that seemed to be able to serve as a temporary shelter.

"There's a building over there. Let's go take a look." Ling Xiao pointed in the distance and said. Li Ming nodded, and the two of them walked cautiously towards the building.

The occasional roars of zombies echoed through the streets, keeping them from letting their guard down. Ling Xiao gripped his dagger tightly, ready to respond to any emergency.

When they arrived at the building, they found its door had been broken open and it was dark inside.

Ling Xiao and Li Ming walked in cautiously and found that it was an abandoned shopping mall.

Although most of the shops had been destroyed, there were still some useful supplies scattered on the ground.

"We can hide from the zombies here temporarily, but we need to find more useful things."

Ling Xiao said. Li Ming nodded, and they began to search the mall. Ling Xiao found some canned food and bottled water, which were the supplies they urgently needed.

He also found some simple medical supplies that he could use to treat his wounds.

"It seems this place was once a refuge," Li Ming said, "but for some reason, all the people here disappeared."

Ling Xiao frowned, a sense of foreboding welling up in his heart. He felt that this city was hiding many more secrets, and they had only just uncovered the tip of the iceberg.

"We can't stay here for long," Ling Xiao said, "We need to find a safer place, a place where we can survive for a long time."

Li Ming nodded, understanding Ling Xiao's concerns. They began searching the mall for tools and materials they could use for defense. Ling Xiao found some iron rods and wooden planks, which he pieced together into a simple weapon and shield using a dagger.

"Although these are crude, they may save lives in a critical moment," Ling Xiao said. Li Ming nodded, picked up an iron rod, and tested its weight in his hand.

Just then, they heard a low roar coming from outside. Ling Xiao and Li Ming looked at each other and immediately realized that a zombie was approaching.

"Hide!" Ling Xiao whispered. They quickly hid in a corner, holding their breath, waiting for the zombies to pass. A zombie slowly walked into the mall. Its movements were slow, but its eyes were filled with ferocity.

Ling Xiao and Li Ming gripped their weapons tightly, ready to strike at any moment. The zombie circled the mall, seemingly unaware of them. It growled softly and then walked off in another direction. Ling Xiao and Li Ming breathed a sigh of relief, but they knew it was only temporary relief.

"We can't wait to die here," Ling Xiao said, "We need to find an exit and leave this city." Li Ming nodded. He understood what Ling Xiao meant.

They decided to take a short break in the mall before continuing their search for a way out. Ling Xiao treated his wounds with the medical supplies he found. Although the pain was unbearable, he knew he had to persevere.

"Why do you think this city has become like this?" Li Ming asked. Ling Xiao shook his head. "I don't know, but I think it must be related to the spatial rift I was caught in. Perhaps I was sent here by some force."

Li Ming was silent for a moment, then said, "No matter what, we have to survive. Perhaps we can find a way to leave here." Ling Xiao nodded, his heart filled with hope. He knew that only by surviving could he solve this mystery.

As night fell, the entire city was shrouded in darkness. Ling Xiao and Li Ming lit a candle in the mall, and the faint light seemed particularly precious in the darkness.

They sat in the corner, listening vigilantly to the noise outside.

"How big do you think this city is?"

Li Ming asked in a low voice.

Ling Xiao shook his head: "I don't know, but I have a feeling that this city is much bigger than we imagined."

Li Ming sighed: "We have to find a way out as soon as possible, otherwise we will be surrounded by zombies sooner or later."

Ling Xiao nodded, his eyes falling on the dagger in his hand.

Although this dagger is rusty, Ling Xiao always feels that it has a special aura.

He closed his eyes and tried to concentrate, to feel the mystery of the dagger.

Suddenly, a light flashed in his mind, and he saw a picture: an ancient altar with a shining dagger placed on it.

Around the altar stood a group of people in black robes, performing a mysterious ceremony.

Ling Xiao felt a powerful force emanating from the dagger, as if it was going to devour him.

He suddenly opened his eyes and found that he was already sweating. Li Ming looked at him with concern: "What's wrong with you?"

"I'm fine," Ling Xiao said, "I just feel like this dagger has some connection to me." Li Ming nodded: "Maybe it can help us find a way out."

Ling Xiao nodded and decided to study the dagger carefully. He placed the dagger on the ground, closed his eyes, and began to concentrate.

He felt a warm power emanating from the dagger, and gradually he entered a meditative state.

In his consciousness, he saw an ancient rune that emitted a faint light.

Ling Xiao felt a surge of power flowing into his body, and his body began to tremble slightly.

Suddenly, a shining road appeared in front of him, and at the end of the road was a huge light gate.

"What is this?" Ling Xiao wondered. "This is the path to your destiny," a mysterious voice echoed in his mind. "Only by passing through this door can you find your way home."

Ling Xiao was shocked as he realized that this dagger might be a divine weapon.

He opened his eyes and found Li Ming looking at him with concern.

"I see a path," Ling Xiao said, "maybe it can lead us out of here."

Li Ming's eyes lit up. "Really? Then what are we waiting for?"

Ling Xiao nodded, picked up the dagger, and stood up. They decided to follow this mysterious road to find a way out.

Ling Xiao felt a force flowing through his body, and he knew that the dagger was guiding him.

They walked out of the mall and down a narrow alleyway. The alley was filled with a foul smell, but Ling Xiao and Li Ming did not hesitate at all.

They knew that only by following this path could they find hope. Suddenly, a zombie jumped out from the darkness. Ling Xiao reacted quickly, stabbing the zombie's head with a dagger and repelling it.

Li Ming also picked up an iron rod and worked with Ling Xiao to deal with the zombies around them. With courage and wisdom, they fought their way out of the encirclement. Just as they were about to exit the alley, they heard a loud bang.

They looked back and saw a huge figure slowly walking out of the darkness. It was much larger than ordinary zombies, its body covered with spikes, and its eyes revealed an evil aura.

"What kind of monster is this?"

Li Ming said in horror. Ling Xiao's heart tightened, knowing this was a powerful zombie. He gripped his dagger tightly, ready to fight.

However, just as he was about to strike, he suddenly felt a powerful force surging out from the dagger, surrounding him completely.

"This is my strength,"

A mysterious voice sounded in his mind, "Only by believing in yourself can you overcome everything."

Ling Xiao felt a surge of power flowing into his body, and his eyes revealed a determination. He brandished the dagger and rushed towards the powerful zombie.

The dagger slashed through the air, radiating light as if to tear the darkness apart. The zombie let out a shrill scream before turning to ash in the light.

Ling Xiao and Li Ming exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with shock and surprise. "This dagger truly has magical powers," Li Ming said.

Ling Xiao nodded, his heart filled with gratitude.

He knew that this dagger might be his only hope in this world.

Ling Xiao and Li Ming continued along the mysterious road, and they found that there were fewer and fewer zombies on the road. Ling Xiao felt a warm power flowing through his body, and he knew that the dagger was leading them to a safe place.

They passed through the ruins and came to an open square. In the square stood an ancient statue with strange runes carved on its base.

Ling Xiao felt a familiar force coming from the statue, and he realized that this was the light gate he saw in meditation.

"This is the place we're looking for," Ling Xiao said. Li Ming nodded, and they walked over to the statue, carefully examining the runes on it. Ling Xiao placed the dagger on the statue's base, and the runes began to glow.

Suddenly, a beam of light shot out from the statue, forming a huge portal of light. "This is the door to another world," Ling Xiao said.

Li Ming nodded, his eyes full of hope. They knew that as long as they passed through this door, they would be able to return to their own world.

However, just as they were about to pass through the light gate, they suddenly heard a low roar.

They looked back and saw a group of zombies slowly approaching from a distance. Their numbers were increasing, as if they were about to surround the entire square. "We can't stay here for too long."

Ling Xiao said.
