Chapter 116: Double Perspective: Residents who do not repay kindness with enmity are not good reside

Chapter 116: Double Perspective: Residents who repay kindness with hatred are not good residents

Mai Minghe lowered his hand and gently touched the face underneath.

Apart from the eyes being cut in half and the orbital bones becoming a pair of small grooves, it felt no different from the newly formed second face.

How wonderful, she thought.

Where did the "top of the head" above the first face go?
Mai Minghe turned his head 180 degrees with interest and found that the small half of the skull was hanging on the back of the head like an open box lid - of course, it was the back of the head below.

She stretched out her new hand and moved the skull a few times, and found that it was very solid and there was no need to worry about it falling off when she moved.

If there were any humans watching him fiddling with the back of his head, they would probably think this was a nightmare...

Speaking of humans, that sea reed seemed to have run away just now.

After waking up from the dream, her memory returned, and the more than an hour she had lost also came back; after thinking about it for a while, she realized that the person who kept asking "What time is it" in her ear should be Hai Luwei.

After he fell into a "lucid dream", he didn't seem to give up on saving her, and tried every means to make her realize the gap between dreams and reality... Is that right?

That is to say, it is because he keeps repeating and repeating and repeating and repeating

That's why she would get distracted while answering questions and not write down the complete answer, resulting in a state where she is a superposition of a resident and a human.

It's all Hai Luwei's fault that I've become like this.
He actually ran away

Catch him, catch him, catch him, make him atone for his sins, make him atone for his sins, make him atone for his sins
She slowly craned her neck toward the gate and listened for a moment.

The face below was still breathing, but the new face didn't need to; so in the dim library hall, there was only a faint breathing sound.

...After becoming a resident, I can hear many things that I couldn’t hear before.

From outside the library, Mai Minghe heard the sound of dust particles rolling on surfaces; the sound of molecules squeezing through the air as human scent spread; the sound of the ground shaking slightly as human footsteps receded...

and the sound of the sea reed talking to another person.

Clear as the white moon in the dark night.

I'm amazing. I can hear everything from such a distance.
It was really stupid of Hai Luwei to start chatting with others instead of seizing the opportunity to escape. However, this made things much easier for her. She used to be a good person, so her preference now was also for good people. She had a good appetite. She had a good appetite. She had a good appetite.
"Wait, where are you going?"

Just as she took a step forward, the resident next to her took a few steps ahead and blocked her way.

This guy had a blank face and a wig on his head that was crooked—no, it should be real hair that had grown crookedly into the shape of a wig, right?

"Come with me," Dream Screenwriter pointed outside the door and said, "Tell Dad what abilities you have, and then we have to go kill someone."

Her newly formed second head and neck made her at least 40 centimeters taller than before. Mai Minghe bent down slightly, looked at it, and asked, "...Why are you the father?"

"I gave you a new life."

"...You were dreaming too?"

The dream screenwriter was silent for a moment before saying, "It doesn't matter what you call me. Just follow me... You want to kill someone too, right? After all, it's your first kill after becoming a resident, so it's very important. I can give you a perfect target, not far from here."

"OK,"

Mai Minghe tilted his head and thought for a moment, then both smiled and said, "Let's go, then. You lead the way."

She watched quietly as the dream screenwriter turned around and revealed his back.

***
Hai Luwei calmed down a little and looked the boy up and down.

"You...you are her friend?"

The man had his hands in the pockets of his hoodie, his face hidden in the shadow of the hood, and only his pointed chin could be seen.

However, judging from his skeletal figure, he seemed to be underage - if they were friends, the age gap between him and Mai Minghe was too big.

Suddenly, an idea struck him, and he said, "Ah, could it be that you are her grandson? Are you here to save your grandmother?"

This sentence was like a brick. No one responded to it. It fell to the ground with a thud, interrupting the conversation.

In the dead silence of the night, the boy was silent for several seconds before he spoke, very confused: "...What did you say? Grandma?"

Eh, isn't it a grandparents-grandchild relationship? I thought I'd figured it out.

Well, he didn't know when Mai Minghe regained her youth; this young man might be a friend she met after she returned to her youth.

But no matter who it was, it was too late now.

"She's in the library, but I advise you not to go over there. Her current condition..."

"Is her life in danger?" the boy asked.

...This question is really difficult to answer.

Speaking of danger, the two of them were probably in greater danger right now. Hai Luwei took a deep breath, momentarily unsure where to begin explaining the matter. If he didn't start from the beginning, it wouldn't make sense. If he did, who knew when Mai Minghe, in the library behind him, would decide to embrace his resident nature and come out to hunt and kill?
"She was transformed by a resident into... well, into a superposition of a resident and a human. It wasn't that the resident emerged from the corpse after the person died, but rather that the entire person..."

He witnessed the entire thing himself and couldn't quite comprehend what had happened. The young man might think he was crazy if he heard it. "I don't know if there's any chance of recovery..."

The hooded boy thought for a moment and asked, "What about the body? Is it still the same?"

Sea Reed was startled. "Ah, it's the same body."

"I understand," the hooded young man said softly, "I'll go get her now. You can go now."

Sure enough, she's Mai Minghe's friend, right? And she seems quite loyal to her... though a little overconfident.

"Do you really want to go? She's in that state. It's too dangerous. You might lose your life."

"Okay, got it." The hooded boy seemed too lazy to explain. He walked past him, his hands in his pockets, and said, "Aren't you going to leave? Why are you still standing here?"

What he said is really worthy of being a little kid in his rebellious period, it's annoying to hear it.

However, once he sees Mai Minghe's appearance, his confidence will probably evaporate completely.

"Don't blame me for not reminding you!" Hai Luwei said loudly, but the young man didn't even turn his head, just waved his hand.

As the young man's figure became smaller and smaller, he still stood there without moving.

...He couldn't explain why exactly.

If you have to find a reason... Hai Luwei couldn't help but think of the boy's hands.

When he said "You're late", the boy's hands were still firmly in his pockets, without moving.

...That's a bit strange, isn't it?
What a person says can be disguised, altered, and changed; but a person's body language is often not controlled by the will to lie and always becomes a subconscious expression of the truth.

When a person hears that someone he cares about very much is in danger, why can his body still be so relaxed and calm?
In other words, are they really friends?
Since they are not friends... did the boy really go to save Mai Minghe?
Hai Luwei glanced at the boy's back - he was walking very fast, and in just one or two minutes, he had walked into the square in front of the library.

Forget it. Even if he had bad intentions, with Mai Minghe's current condition, how could he be harmed? Rather, he should be worried about whether the boy could make it out alive.

Oh, if the boy also died, new residents would be born from his corpse... Wouldn't this place become a residents' meeting place?
When the population density becomes so high, I won't be able to leave even if I want to, so I have to leave immediately—

Before he could finish his thought, he heard a loud bang in the night, as if it had been hit by an artillery bombardment. The door of the library shattered into pieces, flying everywhere, and sent a black shadow high into the night sky.

The black shadow flew past the street lamp, and the crooked wig on its head flashed and disappeared in the light of the street lamp, and then fell into an unknown place.

Sea Reed was stunned for a moment, but even if it was only a moment, it was already too long.

The one who flew out...is it the dream screenwriter?

It looks like he was knocked out?

As this thought came to mind, another shadow rushed out of the library - on top of one head, another head stood tall.

"Sea Reed, ahhh, Sea Reed, ahhh, come here, come here and let me kill you."

The shadow rushed straight towards him like a cannonball; the long steps and half the square seemed only a few steps away to her - the young man happened to be standing in the path of Mai Minghe, and at the last moment, he jumped to the side and barely avoided the fate of being knocked away by her.

Wait, what did she just say?
When Hai Luwei suddenly reacted and a layer of white sweat broke out all over his body, Mai Minghe's face, which was moving up and down, was clearly visible.

Why do you want to kill me!

He couldn't even shout, and turned around to run; however, when his eyes met the dark night road ahead, he suddenly stopped.

No, the road ahead is completely a black box, it's too dangerous to rush in rashly -

At the critical moment, Hai Luwei suddenly bent down and squatted on the ground.

A shadow pulled a gust of wind over his head; Mai Minghe missed the target, drew a parabola in the air, and landed on the road in front of the sea reed with a "bang" - then, two faces turned towards him, one after the other.

People's potential in critical moments is really amazing. If he hadn't squatted down in time, he would have been caught by the resident Mai Minghe.

In the midst of his busy schedule, Hai Luwei actually came up with such a sigh; he knew that he could not escape forward, so he simply turned around and ran back to the library square.

Mai Minghe smiled pointedly and followed closely.

"Hey! Mai Minghe is here,"

Hai Luwei ran towards the young man in front of him as fast as he could, shouting, "Aren't you going to cause trouble for her? Go find her quickly!"

In this chapter, I wrote from Mai Minghe's perspective, Fu Tailan's perspective (two versions), and Hai Luwei's perspective... I felt that none of them were right, and no one of them could express the scene in my mind, so I finally decided to use a double version.

After double spelling, it became smooth all of a sudden! As for whether you can read it smoothly... well... it's up to fate. It's up to fate.
