Chapter 311 Briana's Cooperation Between Two Types of Residents
Chapter 311 Brianna: The Cooperation of Two Kinds of Residents
Once a vulture becomes a target, it will wholeheartedly and truly believe that it is the original owner.
"...So, it thought that I, in Grimm's body, couldn't possibly be Brianna; only it could be. After it became me, it immediately asked me who I was, and I had to tell it that I was Secretary Grimm... Perhaps because of my special circumstances, it didn't inherit all of my memories. It said that it had finally managed to escape from the nest and was going to find its father immediately."
Vesil made a sound in his throat, as if he had smelled a nauseating odor.
Brianna didn't care anymore.
Does he even find Brianna, who is actually a vulture, disgusting? She's even worse than a vulture now.
If she had a choice, she would rather be a vulture.
"Where is it now?"
As Vesile spoke, Brianna heard a rustling of fabric, as if he had gotten up; Jacqueline mumbled something, as if asking him what was wrong.
“…It’s a good thing,” Vesilé replied in a distant voice as she put the phone away, “The vulture I’ve been waiting for has finally come in.”
So she told her about this too, Brianna thought.
“It asked me where I was, and I answered. It’s heading towards the main building now,” Brianna said, bending down and pulling a gun from the waist of a dead man.
At first glance, she couldn't even find the corpse's waist—the human bodies extending from its head were one inside another, a bloody mess, like segments of long, humanoid worms.
She paused for two seconds before realizing that the shorter side was her original body.
"Don't worry, Dad,"
Brianna said reassuringly, walking to a table in the corner of the hall. "It turned into me, and thought it had just escaped from its lair. It would never mean you any harm and would never hurt you."
After a second or two of silence, Vesilai gave a soft "hmm".
“I still believe that,” he said in a calm voice, “after all, they are father and daughter.”
Brianna was momentarily dazed.
"Yes...yes," she said softly, then silenced her phone.
"Secretary Green?" Under the table, a man with his eyes closed and sweat beading on his forehead called out tentatively, "Is that you... W-What happened? Is it safe?"
Brianna raised her gun.
The bullet slammed into his head, bending his neck, and a pool of blood splattered beneath the table. The gunshot was deafening; but she imagined the sound of bone fragments hitting the table backboard must have been wet and crisp.
I lost my composure just now and said a lot of things that I shouldn't have let others hear.
Fortunately, all these deaths can be attributed to Fu Tai Lan.
Hearing things like "biological father and daughter" would be unbearable for the male employee; he would probably rather be dead.
Brianna unmuted and continued, "It doesn't trust me and says it wants to see its father by itself. I'm just finishing up some loose ends at the security center, and I'll be there in a few minutes."
“Okay, hurry up and come,” Vesil said. “Even if you become a resident, I’m not comfortable with that.”
He couldn't wait to turn the vulture into himself so he could hide in the safe room.
“Once this is over, you can have whatever you want.” Vesile seemed moved, and said heavily, “These past few days have been tough for you; you’ve done so much. I know you’ve been suffering…”
After a moment of silence, Brianna gave a soft "hmm," her voice heavy with emotion and her throat choked with sobs; when she touched her face, she found it was even wet.
Huh? That's amazing!
Is Green's body really crying?
They cried so convincingly, as if they were deeply moved. Isn't that amazing?
So that's what it means when tears flow like a tap!
You know, all Brianna had was the thought, "If I cry now, things will be easier later," and she was able to cry so smoothly. It's so convenient and useful!
If Brianna still had her original face, it would be pressed against the telephone, cold and white, giving Vesile a strange and astonishing feeling.
"Thank you, Dad," she said softly, her voice choked with emotion.
She cried her eyes out, her shoulders shaking, and then she crouched down and shot another person in the head.
How foolish! He heard the gunshots just now, yet he didn't die from that thought alone. Didn't he realize the illusion had ended? Didn't he know to run? Oh well, it's good to let him be free. Life is so hard, maybe he should be a resident in the next life. May you be happy in your next life!
Vesile seemed to think that she had briefly muted the phone because she was embarrassed from crying.
"We still have a long way to go. When we succeed, Dad will definitely fulfill all your wishes."
“Okay, okay, Dad,” Brianna said, her voice choked with emotion. “Oh, right…”
"Ok?"
"Where should we approach the vultures?" she asked, opening her mouth to let the question slip out.
"What do you mean?" Vesilai seemed not to have reacted for a moment—clearly she was too happy.
“Once the vulture becomes you, it will be convinced that it is the real ‘Vecile’ and that you are the imposter, the vulture.”
Brianna wiped away her tears, which had served their purpose, and explained, "Because its personality, memory, and way of thinking will become just like Dad's, it will definitely be the first to enter the safe room."
Vessilé understood.
“Once it goes in, Dad, you won’t be able to go in anymore, right? The safe room will be sealed off and won’t accept any more verifications, right?”
They found a third one who had slipped through the net—this woman was quite clever and had already sensed that something was wrong. She was silently climbing toward the back door—really, what's going on with Fu Tai Lan?
“Yes…yes, we have to control it first. We’ll talk about it once I’m in the safe room,” Vesile said. “You can hold it down then, right? You’re not a woman anymore, so suppressing a vulture shouldn’t be a problem, right? It’s not good to ask Dylan and the other bodyguards to do something this sensitive.”
“But what if something happens? How will I know?” Brianna asked.
Vesilai paused. “I can’t grab onto it from the start. If it’s in contact with me, it won’t become ‘Vesilai.’ Once it succeeds, it will definitely move, resist, or struggle… Once the position changes, I won’t know who’s who anymore.”
That's about it. It seems there are no survivors left, and her gun is empty. She plans to seal off the side building again before leaving, just in case.
"What are your thoughts?" Vesilé asked tentatively, her voice lowering.
Given his personality, it's impossible for him not to become suspicious; but there's nothing that can be done about it—it just depends on whether his suspicions are stronger or his desire to survive is stronger.
"let me see,"
Brianna pretended to think for a moment before saying, "Hmm... why don't you take it into the safe room and interact with it? After it transforms into your likeness, if everything goes smoothly and no accidents happen, I'll bring it out. If I can't confirm it right away, I won't bring anyone out... that way, at least you, Dad, will be absolutely safe, right?"
“That’s not good,” Vesilé immediately objected.
He wouldn't feel comfortable letting anyone other than his own father and daughter accompany him inside without bodyguards present.
Brianna smiled silently, not in a hurry to refute. "So what do you mean? I'll listen to Dad."
As she listened to Vesilai's hesitant and repetitive ramblings, she bent down and sized up the alpha wolf for a while.
Fu Tailan seemed to have said something strange to the alpha wolf, as if he had an acquaintance inside the wolf's belly.
But no matter how she looked, she couldn't figure out what was in that pitch blackness or what was there... Fu Tai Lan, really, is she mentally ill?
Sometimes they act more like residents than the residents themselves.
"Can't you move?" Brianna asked the alpha wolf after muting herself.
It seemed truly unable to move, much less answer. Even its eyes were frozen in place.
“Really? But your mouth…isn’t it getting bigger and bigger?” Brianna asked. “The black hole you opened just now was definitely not this big.”
The black hole is now large enough for two adults to crawl into side by side.
Even if she asked, the alpha wolf couldn't answer her.
"Okay, you wanted to come into the building yourself. I don't know why you're like this now, so don't blame me."
The alpha wolf remained motionless.
“…What do you think?” Vesile urged over the phone.
“Ah,” Brianna unmuted and said casually, “As long as you feel at ease, that’s fine. Making you feel at ease is the most important thing. Everything else is minor.”
Vesile paused again, as expected. "What other questions?"
"Oh, like when the bodyguard listens to Vulture and shoots you instead,"
This was in response to his desire to bring bodyguards inside.
“After the vulture transforms into you, all its clothes will be exactly the same, and you won’t be able to tell who is who from the outside. I might even mistake it for someone else and help the vulture into the safe room.”
This was the response to "marking the vulture and tying a rope to it"—of course, Brianna had no idea whether the vulture could conjure up the same outfit, but what did it matter?
Wei Xilai became agitated—the guarantee of "life" was right in front of him, but he still had to take a small but significant risk first.
He hesitated for a moment, then suddenly said, "Wait, I need to take this call."
Brianna was about to leave when she heard this, so she turned back and found the reason why Vesilé hung up the phone on the monitor screens.
Briana herself was standing at the top floor stairwell, more than a meter away from Dylan, who was in charge of security for the night; he didn't approach, probably to show that he was well-behaved and harmless.
Dylan was staring at him, holding a weapon in one hand and a phone in the other.
Even though she couldn't hear the voice on the screen, Brianna could imagine what he was saying to Vesilé.
“A woman named ‘Briana’ came to you, and she said she was your daughter…”
That must be the case.
Fu Tailan knew, of course, that the identity he was impersonating was Brianna.
Since he was able to find Wayne Manor, it must be related to the "Hollow Domination Game." He probably already knows who Brianna is; after all, her past identity is no secret.
He would definitely say that he was the emergency that "Secretary Green" had mentioned; Secretary Green was fully aware of his arrival—
On the screen, Dylan nodded, hung up the phone, but didn't put it down.
Brianna raised her phone first, waiting for its silent, black screen to light up.
Soon, Dylan's name came up.
Brianna couldn't help but smile.
"Hey?"
“Secretary Green?” Dylan had probably received confirmation from Vessilé and was less wary. “A Miss Brianna came to see Mr. Vessilé. She said she would wait for you to arrive before going in together…”
“Yes, I know,” Brianna replied seriously. “I’ll be there soon. Tell her to wait a moment.”
On the screen, Fu Tailan seemed to have heard everything and raised her face toward the camera.
Brianna's face gave her a smile she hadn't seen in a long time.
Ok
If you want to kill him
Then you must kill me with my face on your face.
