Chapter 35 What is the patient's condition?

Seeing so many people watching, the couple quickly shut up, thinking it would be better to ask in private later.

Liu Chuxue had already thought about how to reply, since she couldn't act the same way as the original owner in the future, she could only subtly change her image: "Let's take care of business first."

The man asked where they were going: "Sit down, we're leaving now."

They arrived at the hospital at noon, but Liu's father's condition couldn't be delayed any longer.

The man was also a kind-hearted person; he even helped take the person to the hospital.

Liu Chuxue disregarded the rules and shouted loudly, "Doctor, doctor, help!"

Soon, the on-duty medical staff rushed out, and the nurse who ran in first asked, "What's the patient's condition?"

Liu Chuxue quickly explained the situation once more.

The nurse's eyes were full of disapproval: "Why did it take so long to arrive?"

Liu Chuxue naturally knew that the delivery was a bit late, but what could she do? Without money, it was impossible to move an inch. As a girl who had just transmigrated and was still a minor, what say did she have in the present? She could only use some tricks to create conditions.

Liu's mother quickly explained, "After the accident, we were taken to the commune health center in our area, but the conditions were limited. The doctor suggested that we come to a larger hospital. It took us some time to raise the money, which is why we were delayed."

What she didn't say was that the commune could only get to the city by taking a passing bus from the county seat into the city, and once they missed their stop, there would be no more buses. This was already the fastest they could go.

The mother and daughter had considered borrowing livestock from the village to bring them to the city, but the time it would take to get there was about the same as taking this bus, and they had no money, so it would be pointless for them to come.

The medical staff, upon hearing their words, somewhat understood their predicament.
Soon, Mr. Liu was wheeled into the examination room. The mother and daughter wanted to follow, but the nurse stopped them: "Family members can wait outside. We'll let you know if anything happens." A moment later, a nurse came out, asked for some information, and handed them a filled-out form: "Go pay the fees first."

Liu Chuxue felt heavy-hearted when she saw the amount on the bill, after all, she had paid this much, but the money for her subsequent treatment was still nowhere to be found.

But there's no time to worry about that now. We can only take it one step at a time. A living person can't let themselves die from holding in their pee.

Liu's mother nervously handed the package she had been protecting to her daughter, and said in a low voice, trying to appear calm, "I hid the money in the pocket of your father's spare clothes."

Liu Chuxue took the bundle, gave her mother a reassuring look, and ran to the payment counter with the receipt in hand.

After completing the hospital admission procedures, looking at the few dozen yuan she had left and thinking about the subsequent treatment costs, she couldn't help but frown and sigh softly.

She jogged back to the examination room, where the doctor had already finished the examination and was talking to Liu's mother: "We're quite lucky. Although it took so long, the fractured leg didn't get infected, and it shouldn't have damaged the surrounding nerve tissue. It's a stroke of good luck amidst misfortune."

The other leg is severely swollen, but there's no bone damage; however, the contusion is more serious. Several tests need to be done later, and we'll arrange surgery as soon as the results are available.

Upon hearing the doctor's words, Liu's mother, with red eyes, clasped her hands together and repeatedly expressed her gratitude.

Seeing her mother like this, Liu Chuxue felt very bad.

She reached out to support him: "Mom, I know you're worried about Dad, but what will happen to him if you fall?"

Mother Liu knew her daughter was right, but with such a big matter, she, as a woman, was truly at a loss. Fortunately, her second daughter was resourceful: "Mom understands."
