Chapter 47 Neck Tethered by a Lasso

Warm lighting illuminated the entire living room. Egg and TuTu had their ears pressed tightly against their heads, their heads drooping, and every trembling hair spoke of their unease.

They dared not look at Jiang Yuan's family, fearing they would see disgust on the human faces.

Just then, a childish voice rang out, "You're the little puppies who defeated the bad guys that day!"

Egg and TuTu suddenly looked up and met the clear, innocent eyes of the human cub.

"I remember you too!" Eggy barked.

"Egg Boy says it remembers Zhan Zhan too." Jiang Yuan smiled slightly as she introduced Egg Boy and Tu Tu to everyone.

"Egg, TuTu, thank goodness you were there that day..." Jiang Die walked up to them and expressed her heartfelt gratitude.

Deng Rui and Jiang Dashan also brought out dog food to treat Danzi and Tutu.

Feeling the warmth of humans, Egg and TuTu gradually relaxed and let go of their fear.

The Spring Festival Gala was playing on TV, adding to the festive atmosphere. Danzi and Tutu lay on the soft carpet, their round dog eyes full of curiosity; this was their first time watching the Spring Festival Gala.

Jiang Yuan looked at them, her feelings complicated and heavy.

She wanted to help them, but she felt powerless to do so.

New Year's Day.

The morning sun cast a thin veil of gold over the entire city, and the air was still thick with the lingering smell of firecrackers from the previous night. Bright red couplets adorned every household, and the air was filled with the joy of the New Year.

After Jiang Yuan finished sending red envelopes to her family, she turned around and saw Danzi and Tutu sitting on the balcony.

"I wonder how Bubu and the others are doing now," Eggy whimpered softly.

Tutu said sadly, "I really hope they're okay."

They are thinking of their former companions.

Jiang Yuan called out, "Egg Boy, Tu Tu, I need to go out, are you coming?"

"Go!" Eggy barked and immediately ran towards her.

TuTu followed.

Jiang Yuan rode her electric bike and brought them to the Happy Home.

Pedestrians on the street were dressed in brand-new clothes; some were hurrying along, while others were laughing and playing.

Jiang Yuan went to a secluded corner and took out bread to lure the little mouse.

Soon, several little mice crawled out from various corners.

"Yuan Yuan, you're here!"

Jiang Yuan broke the bread into small pieces and gave them to the dogs, asking in a low voice, "Have you seen any humans coming to catch dogs lately?"

The little mouse paused in its munching on bread, stared at her with its beady green eyes, and squeaked, "Yes! Those humans came over last night and found that all the dogs in the neighborhood were gone. They were so angry they kept cursing!"

Jiang Yuan frowned slightly, then asked, "Did you hear anything else they were saying?"

The little mouse chewed on its bread and thought for a while. "I remember now. They said that they probably all went to hide because they had food to eat during the New Year. They'll come back to catch them after the New Year."

"I understand, thank you." Jiang Yuan left the bread behind, then got up and left with Danzi and Tutu.

Back at Fuzeyuan, she said to the two dogs, "You can continue to stay at my house for the next few days."

On the evening of the third day of the Lunar New Year, a small mouse climbed into Jiang Yuan's balcony through the pipes on the outer wall.

Blueberry was lazily strolling around the living room when she suddenly sensed something, meowed, and pounced onto the balcony.

"Ahhh! There's a cat!" Jack the mouse screamed in fright.

When did Yuan Yuan's family get cats? They even have two!

Xixi was also drawn over.

Stared at by the two cats, the little mouse Jack trembled with fear, his delicate whiskers quivering slightly. His little paws scratched at the ground, as if he wanted to dig a hole and hide inside.

Today's going to be a disaster! The mouse has never even had a girlfriend! I'm so regretful; I should have said yes when the female mouse started pursuing me!
Upon seeing this, Deng Rui screamed, "How did a mouse get into the house!"

Blueberry meowed immediately: "Mom, don't be afraid, the cat has a way to catch it!"

Xixi looked at it with admiration: "Blueberry sister is so amazing!"

After Deng Rui screamed, she saw the two cats in the house getting into fighting stance to catch mice, and called out, "Zhan Zhan, Mo Mo, are you here to watch the cats catch mice?"

Zhanzhan and Momo immediately ran over with their short legs.

Jiang Yuan also came out of the room and happened to see Blueberry pounce on Jack, the little mouse who was trying to escape.

"Spare the rat!" Jiang Yuan exclaimed.

Blueberry turned her head to look in confusion.

When Jack the mouse saw his savior, he immediately squeaked, "Waaaaah, Yuan Yuan, help me!"

Jiang Yuan walked over quickly, squatted down in front of the cat and mouse, and said anxiously, "Blueberry, let go of Jack."

"Do you know Yuan Yuan?" Blueberry meowed and released her paw.

The rescued little mouse Jack immediately hid at Jiang Yuan's feet, his beady eyes wide open, filled with fear and unease.

Jiang Yuan said helplessly, "Jack is my friend. Last time, it was he who led the team to help me deal with the old hag."

Remembering this, Deng Rui quickly apologized to Jack the mouse: "I'm sorry, I almost hurt you just now."

After she finished speaking, even she was surprised that she could talk to a mouse so naturally.

Jiang Yuan held out her palm, and the little guy immediately climbed onto it. "Jack, did you need something from me?"

Nestled in Jiang Yuan's palm, the little mouse Jack felt safe and secure, and then squeaked, "Yuan Yuan, it's a mouse from outside who came to tell you something: humans who catch dogs have appeared."

Egg and TuTu's fur stood on end instantly, and they let out a low growl.

"Bad guy!"

"Defeat the bad guys!"

Jiang Yuan pursed her lips, her brows furrowed, and a sharp light flashed in her beautiful eyes. "Let's go, let's go out."

She took a black down jacket, and Danzi and Tutu followed closely behind her.

"Where are you going so late at night?" Deng Rui asked.

Jiang Yuan raised her chin slightly, her expression one of unyielding indifference: "Catch the thief."

As soon as she finished speaking, she opened the door, and a person and two dogs rushed downstairs.

Oh, and Jack the mouse too.

Jiang Die watched Jiang Yuan's retreating figure, her brows furrowed with worry.

**
The night was like a huge piece of silk, enveloping the entire capital of Yunjing, while the cool moonlight poured down on the earth like silver gauze.

Jiang Yuan, along with Danzi and Tutu, hid behind a big tree.

On the street, an electric scooter drove back and forth, and the person on it seemed to be searching for something.

Eggman stared at them, constantly growling from his throat: "They're awful! I'm going out to be bait now!"

"Wait..." Before Jiang Yuan could finish speaking, the furious Danzi had already rushed out.

Hearing her companion's roar, Tutu asked anxiously, "Yuanyuan, should I go out?"

"Don't move." Jiang Yuan frowned deeply.

Egg charged at the dog thieves, barking and howling, "You despicable humans, how dare you take my brother away!"

"A dog has walked right into our trap! And it's a four-eyed, gold-plated dog!" The dog thief, with his green hair, was very excited and quickly swung out the lasso in his hand.

Egg was caught in a noose around its neck. The dog thief pulled hard, and it whimpered in pain.
