Chapter 420, Reading Room 420

Chapter 420. Reading Room

Upon arriving at the tavern in this other world for the first time, Jiang Jianxin reserved a VIP seat.

She followed the waiter to her seat and looked up to see dancers singing and dancing on the stage.

This group of people, regardless of gender, all had striking good looks, and their light and sheer clothes swayed gracefully as they moved through the changing light and shadow.

The VIP seats were exceptionally close to the stage, close enough to clearly see the young man at the very front wearing a veil and a thin gauze, the defined lines of his abdominal muscles clearly visible beneath the gauze, appearing and disappearing with each movement.

As a burst of music, as rapid as a sudden downpour, erupted, the melody abruptly soaring and piercing the ambiguous night.

The veiled boy who had been at the front suddenly leaped forward, scooped up a handful of deep red rose petals from the flower basket, twirled gracefully, the veil billowing, revealing his sculpted abs and chest, and then raised his arm in a sweeping motion.

In an instant, a shower of flowers fell.

It wasn't a scattered shower, but a grand, surging crimson waterfall, scattering and flying everywhere.

The petals were so dense they almost obscured the view, and a few even gently fell onto Jiang Jianxin's sleeve.

The intense scent of roses mingled with the heat, sweat, and amber musk emanating from the dancers. The lead male dancer stood in the center of this crimson downpour, one knee slightly bent, his face tilted upwards.

The sheer fabric had been completely lifted and bunched up at her waist, fully revealing her lean and muscular physique. Sweat rolled down her neck, eventually disappearing into the taut lines of her waist and abdomen.

His eyes were tinged with a rouge-red hue, his eyelashes were damp, and the flickering candlelight was reflected in his pupils. Then he gently exhaled, blowing away a petal that was stuck to his lips.

The petal swirled, drifted a short distance, and finally landed on the ground.

"Okay!"

"Little beauty!"

A frenzied scream and whistling erupted from all around.

The crystal chandelier swayed, the wine rippled in the glass, and the air was filled with the sweet aroma of fruit, alcohol, and the evaporating scent of desire.

Amidst this overwhelming and almost violent feast of sound and color, Jiang Jianxin, sitting in the VIP seat, was somewhat at a loss for what to do.

She heard from the nurse at the front desk that this bar was very interesting, and that the VIP seats offered the best experience—

But I never expected the content to be... so explosive?
Seeing the handsome man on stage still flirting with the VIPs, the male and female dancers next to him also started throwing flower petals at the VIPs they had chosen.

Amidst the swirling petals, Jiang Jianxin seemed to momentarily rediscover the gentlemanly feeling he had experienced in the subway brothel.

She sat there with a blank expression, actually telling herself:

Hmm... why is this tavern like this?

The truth answered:
Didn't you spend six figures to reserve the seats? Could it really cost six figures without some special details?

Yes, Jiang Jianxin's seat cost Summers a month's salary.

She only experiences it occasionally, so she spends money lavishly, never expecting it to turn out like this.

[I knew it... Dr. Sa's eyes looked strange when she heard I was going to the Three Springs Flower Tavern when I left the house.]

Jiang Jianxin awkwardly rubbed his forehead.

[They probably thought you seemed honest and simple, but they didn't expect you to be such a womanizer behind the scenes.]

The answer is the truth, and the finishing touch is the last blow.

The upright Sword Master silently covered his face.

Just as she curled up into a mushroom, wanting to be a silent bystander, the music on stage suddenly changed.

Colorful light spots danced around, and the dancers who were performing on stage walked into the VIP seats with flowers in their mouths.

Some people kneel in front of guests, tilting their heads slightly back, letting the other person laugh as they pour petals from the alluring hollow of their collarbone into the depths of their collar; others hold the flower stem in their teeth, leaning close, and in the mingling of their breaths, transfer the rose to the waiting lips of the other person.

The masked boy who had scattered flower petals earlier also came to Jiang Jianxin's side.

The latter was already feeling a chill run down his spine at the sight of these increasingly ambiguous scenes. When he caught a glimpse of the lead dancer standing right in front of him, he gasped, realizing he had never encountered anything so troublesome.

"Wow..."

A soft rustling sound of fabric rang out. The masked boy, a deep red rose dangling from his lips, knelt down on one knee.

He tilted his head back, his eyes, hidden beneath the thin veil, shining like stars in the dim light, filled with undisguised anticipation. With each movement, his well-defined abdominal muscles were faintly visible beneath the veil, rising and falling slightly with his breath, like a silent invitation.

Jiang Jianxin didn't look at the body rising and falling beneath the veil. Her gaze froze in mid-air, finally settling on the crown of his head, adorned with a few crimson petals. The petals were soft, still damp, clinging to his slightly damp black hair.

Her eyes were vacant, but upon closer inspection, one could detect a hint of awkwardness, as if her soul had temporarily left her upright body.

Because her original clothes were too unconventional, she ordered a local aristocratic dress before coming to the entertainment venue, and found another nurse sister whose family specializes in haute couture.

She was wearing a sharply tailored white long dress coat with matching trousers, her long, jet-black hair loosely tied back with a silver headband, a few strands falling over her shoulders. Her all-white attire, amidst the shimmering light, made her appear both refined and utterly out of place.

Her face was expressionless, except for a slight furrow between her brows, which gave off a cold air. Her dark eyes looked indifferent and nonchalant, as if she had no interest in anything.

Time stretched out thick and long amidst the noise. After about a minute, or longer, she finally moved.

Those slender hands took a wine glass from the right side.

Clatter, clatter, clatter—the crisp sounds of colliding rang out one after another as gold coins fell from her fingers into the bottom of the glass, gradually piling up until the entire glass was filled, the golden light shimmering dazzlingly under the shifting lamplight.

The masked boy looked up, his eyes behind the thin veil filled with confusion.

Jiang Jianxin reached out, but did not touch his face or his lips which were so close to hers.

She simply rubbed his head gently with her palm, the movement even a little stiff. The few clinging petals were rubbed off, fluttering and falling to the ground.

Then, she handed him the heavy cup of gold coins.

"This money is enough for you for one night."

Her voice was steady and devoid of emotion.

"Stop jumping, go back and rest."

As soon as she finished speaking, she withdrew her hand, stood up, and walked into the depths of the hazy light and shadow and the crowd without looking back. Her white dress flashed and then she disappeared from sight.

Only the masked boy remained kneeling in the same spot.

He stared blankly at the overflowing cup of gold coins in front of him, the golden light shimmering in his eyes.

After a while, he suddenly raised his hand and gently touched the top of his head, which had been ruffled, with his fingers.

……

[Sigh, finally free! I couldn't even watch a performance.]

Jiang Jianxin sighed and walked up to the second floor of the tavern.

She assumed that the six-figure ticket price must guarantee a fantastic performance, such as interacting with the magician during magic shows and being invited to try acrobatic acts on stage.

Unexpectedly, she was the only noblewoman in the entire audience who genuinely enjoyed watching the performance.

Jiang Jianxin said helplessly:

Next time I ask about entertainment venues, I'll have to ask a nurse who's detached from worldly desires.

The answer, truth, mocked her in her mind for a long time before finally saying:
Why did you end up giving so much money?

Jiang Jianxin was even more helpless:
You know the nature of these dancers; if I don't pay them, they'll keep pestering me. I really don't want to stay in that kind of atmosphere any longer.

She glanced at the tavern's surroundings and said:

There seems to be a reading room over there, I'll go check it out.
