Chapter 15 Stereotype
Chapter 15 Stereotype
"You're not falling for that bastard, are you?"
Sitting on a chair near the grassland, Sufeil looked at Victoria who was drinking milk tea with great interest and asked in disbelief.
"Why do you say that?"
Victoria glanced sideways in confusion, and received a scrutinizing look from Sufeil. She smiled and said, "Well, okay."
"I don't really like him, I just think he's very interesting."
"You seem so happy every time you chat with him. Really? And you won't in the future?"
Sufeil pressed on, "You can't possibly choose someone I hate as your boyfriend, right?"
"Sufeil..."
Victoria put away the smile on her face. A call made Sufei sober up instantly. She said lightly: "I think Sean did a good job. He doesn't need to change his favorite choice because of external influences. This is the freedom that each of us needs to pursue."
"I'm sorry, Victoria."
Sufeier nodded, and looked at Victoria with a look of pity, "After graduation, your family..."
"We've just started school, why are you talking about after graduation?"
Victoria rolled her eyes and let out a long breath, "Don't worry about that matter. Even if I really fell in love with Sean, they wouldn't agree."
Seeing Sufeier's mood getting depressed, Victoria mischievously stretched out the milk tea in front of him and shook it in front of him. "Let's not talk about this anymore. This milk tea is really delicious. Don't you really want to try it?"
"Forget this, I don't like drinking this." Sufeil pushed the milk tea back.
"That's great. I can eat and drink for free just by following you."
With a sigh, Victoria took another sip from the straw and looked towards the Hiking Adventure Agency booth, which had been deserted but was now crowded with people. "Aren't you afraid they'll bother you?"
"As you said, it's their freedom."
Sufei glanced at Victoria. The milk tea in her hand was given to her by those boys. He confiscated it, but Victoria ate it happily.
Victoria seemed to have thought of something and suddenly opened her eyes wide: "You are not going to go to the club and ask them to cause trouble for Sean, are you?"
"Hmm... I hadn't thought of that. Thanks for reminding me."
Sufeier blinked, looking at Victoria's expected expression, he couldn't help but doubt, "You seem to be looking forward to seeing me cause trouble for him."
"No, it's nothing."
Victoria chuckled twice, her emerald eyes full of smiles.
……
On the other side, seeing that Li Xiaoen had fallen into silence and was just silently gnawing on the fried chicken in his hand, Daniel and the other two looked at each other and spoke to comfort him.
"Don't worry, Sean. Even if you're rich, as long as you don't break the law, they can't do anything to you."
"My father is a lawyer and has taken on many cases like this. If you have any questions, feel free to come to me." The black boy Malcolm added.
"Don't worry, I don't think the conflict between her and me has reached that serious level yet."
Li Xiaoen shook his head. He was thinking about another problem - how to realize the result of the system's bet that Sufeil would fall in love with him.
You can't just walk up to the other person and ask, do you like me?
When Li Xiaoen thought of the disgusted and contemptuous look that Sufeil always gave him, he immediately rejected this method.
"What plans do you have for the afternoon?"
"Choose your classes, then go play ball."
Michael shrugged and looked at the other three. "How about it, do you want to come?"
"You might as well give it a try."
Li Xiaoen had no objection. Daniel, who was Michael's friend, obviously had this plan already. The three of them looked at Malcolm who had been listening silently.
"Actually, I can't play basketball." Malcolm put down the fried chicken in his hand on the plate in front of him and gave an awkward smile.
"It's okay, let's exercise together."
Daniel waved his hand proudly. "Besides, aren't you black people very talented in basketball? You're tall, just a little skinny."
“Stereotypes, stereotypes!”
Seeing the three of them acting so pretentiously, Malcolm shouted anxiously, "Sean is from China, so is he really good at table tennis?"
"Hey, I actually know a little bit about table tennis." Li Xiaoen nodded with a smile.
"Just because you know a little bit doesn't mean you're not that great, right?"
Malcolm exhaled and looked at the two white men next to him. Then he finally realized that the four of them represented the three major races in the world: yellow, white and black.
Before coming to college, his parents' concerns about him not getting along well with his classmates were probably unnecessary. Thinking of this, Malcolm smiled easily.
"Don't overthink it, Malcolm."
Seeing Malcolm smile, Daniel refuted mercilessly, "You also know that Sean is from China. Don't you know what Chinese people say?"
"To say it's okay is to say it's a sure thing. To say it's a bit good is to say it's invincible in the entire community."
"Yes, yes."
As soon as the conversation got to this point, the conversation became increasingly tense. Michael glanced at Li Xiaoen with amusement, "Didn't you see the report online? A table tennis player who didn't make the national team in China went straight to America to coach our national team."
"You guys are still stereotyping."
Looking at the three people who seemed to be doing nothing, Li Xiaoen rolled his eyes.
"So, did you achieve any results in table tennis?"
“How can you have any results if you haven’t participated in any competition?”
Li Xiaoen couldn't help but find the curious looks of the three people funny. He had devoted himself to studying since high school. If he could still have the energy to train, participate in competitions and get good results in addition to being admitted to Princeton University, then he would call himself a genius without anyone else.
"Sean, don't you feel uncomfortable eating with gloves on?"
While chatting, Daniel noticed the transparent gloves on Li Xiaoen's hands.
"Isn't this more hygienic?"
Li Xiaoen glanced at the three people's greasy hands and said, "I took paper and pen before, and I might have accidentally touched something."
"Is there anything unclean about this?"
"Maybe not."
Li Xiaoen shrugged, "It's just a matter of habit."
Americans don't seem to have the concept of wearing gloves when eating, or they rarely do. The gloves he wore were probably prepared by a Chinese senior in the food club.
Because of her, Li Xiaoen even saw the long-lost brown sugar pearl milk tea.
"You might have a strong immune system, so even if your hands touch something dirty, you can handle it."
Suddenly thinking of the case of a beggar who got sick after taking a bath, Li Xiaoen explained.
However, as soon as these words were spoken, the three of them fell silent at the same time.
Noticing that Michael and Malcolm's eyes were both focused on Daniel, Li Xiaoen's expression turned strange.
"You guys don't, do you really have one?"
"Hahaha……"
Michael suddenly burst into a gloating laugh, and pointed at Daniel: "Sean, do you know that Daniel met up with us earlier and complained to us that his butt was itchy, so he scratched it..."
Daniel, who was sitting on the chair, turned green in the face. Seeing Michael laughing with his mouth wide open, he gritted his teeth, reached out his hand to the other's mouth, and wiped it hard.
"Hahaha……"
This time, it was Daniel's turn to burst out laughing.
"What the f**k are you doing?"
The two of them started to quarrel, but Li Xiaoen had no intention of watching them. He couldn't help feeling disgusted when looking at the fried chicken in front of him.
He was sitting across from Daniel, casually picking up the fried chicken from his plate.
"Don't worry about it, Sean."
Unknowingly, he had left his seat to make room for Daniel and the other man to toss and turn. Malcolm smiled and said in relief, "I noticed that Daniel ordered a lot. He didn't touch the fried chicken over there."
"That's fine, that's fine."
Li Xiaoen quickly stood up and left the edge of the battlefield. Only then did he realize that Malcolm's hands had been wiped clean of the oil.
"I carry wet wipes with me."
Malcolm smiled and nodded, pulling a large box of tissues from his bag and handing it over.
There is a strange feeling.
Li Xiaoen felt strange and took out two cards from the box.
"Thank you."
