Chapter 193 Display
After being helped down the stairs, Jill pushed Zheng Zha away, asking, "You are... why are you here?"

Zheng Zha scratched his head, feigning hesitation, and said, "We know you're investigating the Umbrella Corporation... and the Umbrella Corporation is planning to silence you. We're fighting against the company, so we came to rescue you."

This is what Mu Xiang instructed Zheng Zha: Don't go into too much detail; just answer the questions asked, bit by bit. The other person will fill in the gaps in the logical flow themselves.

After all... the clues Mu Xiang left for the Umbrella Corporation were meant for them to fill in the blanks themselves.

Jill gave Zheng Zha a deep look and let out a long sigh: "Are you really sure it's okay to leave your companions up there?"

No sooner had the words left his mouth than a series of loud crashes came from the apartment... something had smashed through several floors.

Zheng Zha shook his head: "These monsters are indeed powerful, but their viruses are far inferior to ours."

"What virus?" Jill frowned slightly. "The T-virus?"

Zheng Zha shook his head again and slowly said, "The T-virus is inside this kind of monster, but ours is different."

An ordinary person would have already backed away, but Jill stood still and asked, "Yours?"

Zheng Zha silently watched Jill, then spoke up: "The G-virus that hasn't been handed over yet... Umbrella Corporation is looking for us."

Jill was getting a little frustrated. She wondered if the Chinese man in front of her couldn't speak English properly. In those few sentences, Jill had gotten a shockingly low amount of useful information... But after all, he had saved her, and it wasn't the time to adopt an interrogation approach.

"Let's go, let's find a safe place." Zheng Zha turned around blankly and walked towards the alley exit.

Jill grabbed him: "Where are you going?"

“The entire Raccoon City has been infected with the T-virus,” Zheng Zha said calmly. “Those monsters from earlier are everywhere in the city, and they’re targeting us.”

Jill had some information about the T-virus, and she was stunned when she heard Zheng Zha say the first half of the sentence. She didn't even hear the maniacal laughter coming from the apartment.

"Go first, you might get accidentally hurt..." Before Zheng Zha could finish speaking, there was another loud bang, and the huge body pierced through the wall and rushed directly into the alley.

Jill immediately raised the gun she had been holding, but was taken aback when she saw the newcomer's posture.

The burly tracker could no longer stand; its thick arms were gone, and its once spotless, shiny leather coat was now full of tears... More importantly, it had been thrown out.

Then, a thin figure burst out of the hole in the wall, carrying a cement slab. Laughing wildly, he leaped up and smashed the slab onto the pursuer... The cement slab shattered into pieces, covering the pursuer's body. Mu Xiang, standing on a large cement slab, shouted and jumped.

Only when there was no more movement below did Mu Xiang stop what he was doing, and then he turned to look at Jill and Zheng Zha.

The moment Jill met Mu Xiang's gaze, she felt a surge of fear... as if she were looking at a humanoid beast. Even the monster from before hadn't given Jill this tangible sense of danger!
Mu Xiang shook his head, gently slapped his face, and the terrifying sense of oppression suddenly disappeared.

"Officer Jill, we've found you." Mu Xiang yawned and took the initiative before Jill could ask any questions.

Seeing the caution in Jill's eyes, Mu Xiang waved his hand and said, "Go out first. Once you're out, you'll understand why I brought you here. He's not thinking straight after he got infected, and he can't explain it to you."

Before Jill could say anything, Mu Xiang strode towards the alley entrance.

Jill had already sensed something was wrong when she glanced at the street outside the alley, and now that she followed, she was horrified to find the street in complete chaos. Fires were everywhere, hastily erected roadblocks were everywhere, and wrecked cars were everywhere... It was as if Raccoon City was in the midst of a battle.

Remembering Zheng Zha's previous words, Jill turned her head to look at both sides as she crossed the road, and her heart skipped a beat.

"Damn, why are there so many?"

On a row of barbed wire gates blocking the road, several stiff figures were pressed against the wall. Due to the backlighting, Jill couldn't see their faces... but just by their movements, Jill could tell that these were the same monsters as those in the mansion. And behind these closest figures, there was an endless, densely packed mass of walking corpses.

It should be "them" now.

Upon seeing someone approach, they seemed to be activated and immediately launched an attack on the barbed wire fence... This barbed wire fence was practically useless, and it couldn't stop them at all when they really put their strength into it!
The iron gate of a roadside shop suddenly opened, startling Jill, who immediately pointed her raised pistol at it.

A young girl's face peeked out from behind the door, waving to the three of them: "Quick!"

Before Jill could even see the face clearly, the two barbed wire gates collapsed first, and five or six stiff bodies tumbled out of the defensive line. Although the other barbed wire gates remained standing, the defensive line was now meaningless.

Mu Xiang and Zheng Zha ran towards the store. Jill gritted her teeth, fired two shots at the first zombie that got up, piercing its head, and then followed.

When the door was closed, Jill could finally see the girl's face in the dim light... The girl was Zhan Lan, a security guard for the Umbrella Corporation.

"Then we went out the back door. Speaking of which, the Raccoon City police also used this method to evacuate residents and cross the cordon." Mu Xiang shrugged, then looked at Jill, "Is there a problem?"

Jill looked around the room. Besides the three security guards she already knew, there was also a burly man she didn't recognize.

"Who are you?" Jill asked in a deep voice.

Mu Xiang pushed up his glasses: "The three of us were originally security guards for Umbrella Corporation... and survivors of the Hive incident."

“What exactly is that monster?” Jill frowned, deciding to ask that first.

“The Umbrella Corporation calls it the Tracker,” Mu Xiang said. “As far as I know, it’s a type of Tyrant. From their files, I saw that it’s a product of Tyrants being inoculated with the Nemesis-α parasite…”

Jill's heart skipped a beat. She came face to face with the tracker and immediately thought of the tyrant in the mansion... that inhuman bio-weapon.

Mu Xiang could tell what she was thinking, but he didn't elaborate. After all, there was a limit to how much one could play the role of a defector protecting someone; knowing everything would only make one suspicious.

Jill took a deep breath and then looked at Mu Xiang: "So, what exactly are you? The power you showed before is completely not something a human should have."

Mu Xiang glanced at Zheng Zha indifferently: "As expected, you can't expect him to explain things clearly to you... We are infected with the G-virus, something the Umbrella Corporation has always coveted. Its power is far beyond what the T-virus, this piece of junk, can compare to. In fact, the G-virus was discovered accidentally during research on the combination of the Nemesis-α parasite and the T-virus..."

He raised his hand to stop Jill's question: "The final step of the formal project and the unexpected gains is the Tracker and the G-Virus. However, in terms of power, the Tracker is actually far inferior to the G-Virus!"

"The G virus has greatly enhanced our qualities. The so-called G is short for Golgatha... but it also has a nickname: God." Mu Xiang sneered. "As for how humans should behave... do you think we're still human?"

Amid Jill's exclamation of "Holy shit!", Mu Xiang punched Zheng Zha through the left chest!
