Chapter 301 Afterimage
When Zheng Zha activated his Asura Battle Body, the outcome of the battle was already decided. If it weren't for the fact that his opponents were so unsportsmanlike, ganging up on him one after another—and that they even had their own formation that could trigger miraculous reactions with a simple movement—he wouldn't even have needed the Asura Battle Body.

Although his Asura Battle Body was a bit fragile in front of Mu Xiang, it was still easy for him to deal with these guys... The intensity of each sparring session was greater than the life-or-death battles of ordinary people, so it wasn't easy for him.

The three-headed, six-armed crimson giant stretched out his body to the astonished gazes of the people at the Polar Day Gathering. A layer of crimson light flowed around his body, which at first glance appeared to be blood, but then it flashed with a crystalline luster.

The Branch of Destruction was simply raised high above the head by two arms, which, though seemingly clumsy, brought down with a massive sword in the next instant. The scorching air howled as if torn apart, causing the space around the high-ranking military officers and ministers to tremble.

The envoy snorted coldly, and a shield of light unfolded before him; the high-ranking military officer standing beside him immediately reached out and pressed down, causing the shield to expand slightly. Upon closer inspection, the high-ranking officer's hand also displayed the same emblem as the shield.

The next moment, a deafening roar resounded. Under the strike of the Branch of Annihilation, the light shield teetered on the brink of collapse. To the two's greatest surprise, a crack had appeared at the center of the light shield's magical runes!

Before they could even assess the level of force involved, four black fireballs, each with a different angle and point of impact, hurtled towards them.

From an ordinary person's perspective, one could say that the black flames were not conspicuous at night; however, the blood-red giant's four arms were not simply stretched out randomly, but rather he seemed to have conjured up these terrifying flames that distorted the view as they flew from the scorching air.

The problem is that high-ranking military officers and envoys are merely suppressed by the system of the Main God Space; no matter how weak they are, they are still legendary powerhouses... To say they can't see them is probably a joke. The only explanation is that the nature of that black flame is just that bizarre.

Zheng Zha's four arms were incredibly long; with a scoop and a flick, he bypassed the light shield and smashed directly at the two people behind him.

"Be careful, this energy is not easily perceived." The envoy, who was more adept at using energy, immediately warned him. His tone was no longer arrogant as before, but filled with solemnity.

The high-ranking military officer nodded silently. He had already experienced the eeriness of the black flames, and dared not be careless now. He focused his mind and stepped forward, instantly creating a green afterimage. As he struck out with his palm, the afterimage gradually expanded, transforming into a huge phantom that stood in front of the two.

"Disperse!"

The enormous afterimage and the high-ranking military officer clapped their hands simultaneously, one person blocking three streams of black flames. To their alarm, the black flames did not directly clash and annihilate the green light, but instead, after a loud explosion, silently infiltrated the afterimage. This clinging, malignant characteristic was truly terrifying.

The envoy chanted an incantation, and a beam of green light shot out from his hands. Although the green light rose abruptly, it wasn't sharp or aggressive; it simply disappeared into the afterimage, solidifying it and even showing a faint tendency to expand. In this ebb and flow, the black flames were simultaneously annihilated and pushed away.

Just then, the enormous Asura battle body let out a deafening roar, and its four hands, which had just unleashed black flames, came together, exploding with a streak of bloody light; while the Branch of Annihilation turned its sharpness again, slashing horizontally at the afterimage.

The envoy gave a command to hold on, and without any visible effort, he naturally rose into the air, his hands holding ever-growing green orbs of light, about to smash down on Zheng Zha.

The green light shield shattered at that moment, and another huge figure emerged from the blood-red light. It also had three heads and six arms, and also held a giant sword... The only difference was that this red and black figure was much more illusory than Zheng Zha himself.

The next moment, the Branch of Destruction swept across the afterimage's waist, producing a strange collision sound; and the illusory giant sword held by the afterimage actually pierced directly into the green afterimage's chest. As the illusory giant sword entered the body, the remaining black flames exploded instantly, and the green afterimage was blasted to pieces, turning into specks of green light corroded by the darkness, dissipating into the air.

The high-ranking military officer slammed his palm into the air, and as the space trembled, he seemed to use the force to propel himself backward.

Caught off guard, the envoy was struck by Zheng Zha's fist and sent flying backward in a green light, only to be caught by a high-ranking military officer.

"What's going on?" the high-ranking military officer asked, somewhat alarmed.

He wasn't actually injured, because the method of solidifying the afterimage was a great way to prevent the main body from being affected. What truly terrified him was the red and black afterimage that Zheng Zha had created.

Although the afterimage also disappeared after the sword strike, the shock it gave the two was no less than that of the Asura Battle Body.

This guy... he's not learning from them while he's fighting, is he?
The envoy and high-ranking military officer both saw the same question in each other's eyes, but at that moment, the Asura Battle Body rushed towards them with astonishing speed. Black flames flickered above its four hands, and a giant sword roared between its arms. The Branch of Annihilation was somehow reversed and held downwards, smashing down on the two men along with the four balls of black flames.

The two had actually been working together for a long time. Although they were both sarcastic, their tacit understanding was unbreakable. Without needing anyone to give a command, they simultaneously reached out and slapped each other. A burst of green light, disproportionate to the force of the slap, pushed them apart. However, their trajectory was not a simple retreat, but rather a whirlwind, one to the left and one to the right, subtly circling around Zheng Zha.

The surrounding robotic soldiers, ordinary soldiers of the Polar Day Society, and even third-tier military officers all suffered heavy casualties in the three's reckless clashes. It wasn't just these robots modified from the plane's native territory, or ordinary soldiers that could be generated through rituals, who were considered consumables... In fact, under any high-ranking officer, all low-ranking officers were consumables.

This is not entirely the same as a rigid hierarchy. Everything in the Midnight Sun Society originates from that deity, the source of the Midnight Sun, the ancestor of all laws, and the lord of the Emerald. For His Great Way, all members who come from Him or convert to Him must offer the highest sacrifice. Under this will that permeates all levels, anyone can be sacrificed.

If they were led by the chief military officer... then the two legendary powerhouses would also have been sacrificed.

Whether they faced death with fear or equanimity, it was something they had to do.

A circular pattern suddenly appeared, forming a green light that stretched from the sky to the earth, enveloping Zheng Zha within it; while countless surviving soldiers and officers of the Polar Day Society melted into green light amidst screams, about to merge into this pillar of light.

Just then, a sudden change occurred. Countless screams shook the space. In the midst of this tremor, some screams were detached from the green light and echoed in the void before being swallowed up by the spreading black flames.

As the patterns on the pillar of light barely took shape, the black flames condensed into thick fire serpents, swirling around the Asura Battle Body.
