Chapter 471 Power
“Interesting.” Muroshi’s lips twitched, causing the illusory abyss to ripple and vanish. “But to confront this move head-on would be unwise for a spirit tablet.”

Mu Xiang pushed up his glasses: "Otherwise what? Are you going to watch my partner get seriously injured by you? I'm not the kind of tyrant who puts on a kind face and deceives people to use as his own resources."

Mroshi remained unmoved, raising his hands upwards to intensify the force of the vortex.

Mu Xiang frowned as he felt the energy repelling his body and the surrounding space collapsing. It seemed only a fourth-tier beginner like him could withstand such an attack involving spatial manipulation. Any other fourth-tier intermediate attacker would likely be severely injured, and a demigod from the extraordinary system might be instantly killed.

Although they managed to hold on, there were still some losses... It seems Zheng Zha and Zhang Jie are in quite a dangerous situation.

Like Mu Xiang, Muroch was also sensing the other party's methods. He pondered for a moment, then shook his head: "Yes, with your level, you might be able to withstand it with brute force... but there's absolutely no way you could have anticipated it so early. Is it Ibo Zter?"

Mu Xiang took a deep breath, his muscles and the golden light around him expanding. Under the intense operation of his body and energy, he forcefully broke through this strange double pull, raised the crescent moon high, and then drew a dazzling blade of light.

The blade of light arrived before Muroch in the blink of an eye. But after crossing that distance, the blade of light slowly dissipated, just like Zheng Zha's Samadhi Yin-Yang Sword before, utterly powerless.

Previously, there were only layers of dark blue light, but now, within this vortex, there is both dark blue light and chaotic space, which naturally weakens the attack even more.

"To dare to directly steal Ibo Zter's power... you are truly audacious," Muroch sneered. "It would be one thing if you killed Ibo Zter while I was unable to stop you, after all, he was just a pawn. But do you know what kind of being he came from?"

Mu Xiang looked at Muroshi calmly: "If you want to fight, then fight; if you want to talk, then talk."

No sooner had he finished speaking than Muroch appeared before Mu Xiang, his hand, enveloped in a dark blue light, claw-like, reaching straight for Mu Xiang's heart. This was even faster than Mu Xiang had anticipated; he roared, his fists, wreathed in a violent golden light, blazing like the sun and moon, slamming fiercely into the claw.

With a deafening roar, Muroch was thrown backward, and Mu Xiang was also sent flying. The azure light, unable to withstand the precise control of the golden light, finally revealed its nature of energy conflict, collapsing amidst the deafening roar, no longer as serene as before. Mu Xiang's hands formed a strange arc; though concealed by the remaining golden light, they trembled visibly.

Mu Xiang felt a sweet taste in his throat. Even as he was falling backward, he felt the space pulling him. He frowned and looked at his hands. The internal injuries from the impact, along with the side effects of the Candle-Holding Technique, were repaired in an instant by the more suitable self-healing power brought by the fourth-order gene lock, but the injuries to Mu Xiang's hands were even more severe.

"Haha, how does it feel? Ashamed?" Although Muroch was also pushed back, his words were full of sarcasm. "Your brute force... is nothing under the suppression of realm, is it?"

Mu Xiang sneered, "A mere fourth-level cultivator fought to a draw with a spirit tablet. The spirit tablet isn't even ashamed, so why should I be ashamed?" Hearing Mu Xiang's sarcastic remark, Muroshi chuckled, then a violent expression flashed across his abyss-like face: "Fine, fine, fine! A draw indeed! I'll break your hand!"

Before the words were finished, a blood-red giant sword and a colossal blade slashed through the void from the left and right, respectively, carrying their respective energies as they flew towards this place. It was Zheng Zha and Zhang Jie's attack.

Murroshi frowned, glancing into the distance, where he saw the twisted forms shattered by crimson flames or telekinesis. He clicked his tongue, and his trident rose from behind him, transforming into a streak of ghostly blue light that swept outwards. The two massive weapons that flew towards him were swept away by this light, falling into the vortex and then disintegrating into dissipated energy.

"Looks like you two have some skill after all... Well then, struggle in an even stronger encirclement." Muroch sneered, and the intense presence "above" emanated, though only for a moment, it still made the three of them jump. "You can also call them by mortal standards... Outer Gods!"

The presence above vanished in a flash, while a denser presence rose from the surrounding void. Though much weaker, it was still incredibly dense. Murmurings that clung together and even more sticky, squeezing, and writhing sounds emanated from behind the void, from a place even deeper than the void itself.

To call it profound might be inaccurate... because there are no magnificent beings within it, only emptiness. And within this emptiness, which is even further than the void, countless distorted beings emerge.

They are fragments of what are called the remains of gods above gods. Originally, they might have been a finger, a piece of flesh, or just a piece of armor or a weapon ornament... But in the bottomless abyss, over a period of time longer than the life of the second Void Lord, they slowly decayed and became this kind of existence.

If this were in the former bottomless abyss, the corpses of the Titans would most likely have decayed into Abyssal Titans. And the Titans of the Saintly Rank, bearing unimaginable power and divine abilities, would be wasted if left to decay. This treasure, coveted even by Void Lords, was thus pressed into the depths of the bottomless abyss by Yhorm, its corpses transforming, its power disintegrating, and the entire abyss becoming strange and unsettling.

In fact, those higher authorities played a significant role in the creation of the second generation of Void Lords. The first generation of Void Lords originated from the remains of primordial demon gods, while the second generation emerged from the accumulation of countless years in the bottomless abyss. This accumulation was either the result of the digestion of infinite planes or from holy deities who had fallen from the material world to this state; whether dead or alive, it was of great help.

The remains of the Ocean God are a very important part of this. Muroshi heard from his other ancestors that in the past, when humans did not dominate the multiverse and monopolize the holy positions, a near-saint like him could immediately become a Void Lord simply by digesting the Ocean God's corpse and authority.

Now...Mroshi knows that if he leaves the Abyss, it will be almost impossible for him to attain sainthood outside. Thus, the remains of these Titans and fragments of divine corpses have become the embodiment of the rules and authority of this abyssal world.

To attain sainthood... one must bypass the gaze of certain higher beings, ascend to the level of a plane deity, and become a supreme god born from plane faith!
