Chapter 49 Completely baffled

Then he looked at Zero and Overlord: “We can go to room seventeen first… that’s the armory, where you can get some weapons you’re good at. I’ll be the main force attacking Ash; you can provide cover from the rear. I hope you won’t let me down.”

Neither Zero nor Overlord said anything, but they nodded solemnly.

Chu Xuan looked at the hastily assembled team and didn't say much, only saying, "We can set off now. Specific issues can be discussed via headset."

Mu Xiang nodded, then led Zero and Overlord out of the control room.

Just a few steps out of the control room, Mu Xiang said into his earpiece, "We can cut off all the surveillance cameras leading to the red zone."

Chu Xuan responded calmly through the headset.

Mu Xiang swiped his right hand across his left wrist, handing each of Zero Point and Overlord an M41A pulse rifle.

The Overlord paused for a moment, then asked in a deep voice, "Didn't you say we were going to the armory to find a gun?"

“I told Ash… Now Chu Xuan has cut off the main control room’s monitoring of this area, so Ash can’t see or hear us anymore. This is an information gap. In fact, this gun from Alien 2 is decades more advanced than the guns on the spaceship. We don’t need to go get those guns at all.” Mu Xiang smiled. “Those who only know how to use information gaps are second-rate sages, while those who don’t know how to use information gaps aren’t even third-rate. Now we can head straight for Ash’s hiding place. Chu Xuan and I already know where he is.”

"Zheng Zha, you can set off now. Ripley's location is in cold storage room number 38. Chu Xuan will tell you the specific route." After walking a while, Mu Xiang said to the other group.

As Mu Xiang walked through passage number 15, he clearly heard some noise inside, probably from the last remaining alien... The distance and brightness were not ideal, otherwise he should have been able to see the three newcomers who had already been taken away.

Zero and Overlord also clearly sensed that the alien was not far from them. Mu Xiang noticed that they were gripping their guns tightly, and the hair on their arms was standing on end—well, Overlord's was more obvious.

Mu Xiang waved his hand, signaling them to calm down. It was safe for now... Between guarding the nest and hunting down tough opponents, the Alien Queen would probably choose the former, since it needed more time to lay more eggs.

He stopped and waited for the two to walk ahead, while he remained behind the outer hall of passage number fifteen. This way, even if the alien rushed out, it would collide head-on with him. Soon, the three of them silently completed a change of formation while moving. Seeing that Zero and Overlord had reached a safe distance, Mu Xiang also left passage number fifteen and followed them.

As Mu Xiang reached the corner outside room number ten, he stopped and pointed to the door.

The two immediately understood what he meant, and then Mu Xiang placed a directional corrosion tank at the door. Mu Xiang had Zheng Zha exchange this for some spare change; it contained a certain liquid, and although it rarely worked because you get what you pay for, the spaceship in the Alien series happened to be one of those.

"Three, two, one..." Mu Xiang started the engine and retreated with the two of them, silently counting in his mind.

With a soft crack, the directional corrosion tank split open in the preset direction, spraying out a yellowish-green mist that soaked the door. According to the description from the main god, this liquid, stored in an oxygen-free state in the tank, wasn't considered acidic, but once sprayed out and adhering to the target, it quickly reacted with oxygen, becoming a strong acid. Mu Xiang, however, didn't fully understand the more specific process, being a humanities student. Although the metal door still maintained its overall structure under the corrosive acid, Mu Xiang knew that that area was actually extremely fragile.

Mu Xiang raised his foot and kicked a large hole in the door, then rushed inside.

Zero and Overlord exchanged a glance and then crossed the gap and entered the room.

This room appears to be a spaceship's repair workshop, filled with various repaired and unrepaired equipment. The room is dimly lit, likely because many of the lighting circuits have corroded; only one corner of the room is lit.

The workshop was larger than Mu Xiang had expected, but he couldn't find Ash in the room for a moment... but he had a dangerous premonition.

Is it due to the unknown? Or is Ash truly capable of threatening me?

Zero and Overlord clearly shared this feeling. As people who lived on the edge of danger in the so-called dark world, their sense of danger was even stronger than that of some enhanced beings in the God Space.

The three of them slowly made their way around the room, back to back. If it weren't for that lingering feeling, they would have thought they had come to the wrong place.

Mu Xiang's gaze swept over a spacesuit that was charging... This spacesuit was different from the other spacesuits in the movie, as it was equipped with more tools on the outside.

His doubts led Mu Xiang to draw his knife and step forward to cleave the spacesuit open. Although he could see the helmet was empty, he still wanted to take a look.

Just then, a sound of something falling to the ground came from behind.

"What's going on?" Mu Xiang slashed at the spacesuit with his sword, asking the two without turning his head.

Overlord's voice rang out: "One head... This must be the Ash you were talking about?"

"Hmm?" The slash cleaved through the chest armor of the spacesuit, but Mu Xiang's attention was no longer on the spacesuit. It sounded like Ash was already dead?
Mu Xiang turned around and saw a head on the ground... it was Ash's. However, his expression was stiff, clearly indicating that he had been dead for some time.

Looking at the android's internal fluids dripping onto the ground, Mu Xiang was also somewhat confused. Zero and Overlord were still pointing their guns at the head, but they also seemed clueless.

This is truly baffling...

"Chu Xuan, we found Ash's... head," Mu Xiang said to Chu Xuan on the other end. Then he looked at the two who were still examining him: "But I have a question. Ash was intact when he came in. What happened to him like this? Where's his body? Look for it..."

Before he could finish speaking, a whooshing sound came from behind him. Mu Xiang had just taken two steps to the left when he was slammed away by a tremendous force!
The plot of this horror movie should be fairly tight, right? It'll be finished soon. There's one more chapter analyzing the setup before the final battle with the Queen, but some readers said it was too weak, so it will be released together with the final battle...
