Chapter 56 - I am your sister-in-law
At the county magistrate's office, Xiang Lingchen, who was also the head of the Xiang family, heard the news from his servants. His face gradually darkened. His most capable subordinate had been killed in action and hung up naked in such an insulting manner. This was clearly a blatant humiliation of him, the county magistrate.

The constable left the room and walked to another room. Mustering his courage, he knocked on the door: "Elder Tushan, the county magistrate requests your presence at the morgue."

"The morgue?" A puzzled male voice came from inside the room. Then the door opened automatically, and a young man with fox-like eyes slowly walked out. He looked at the constable and said, "Lead the way."

"Thank you for your hard work, young man." Elder Tushan patted the constable on the shoulder. "But there's one more thing I need to trouble you with."

The constable's face stiffened, because he felt that what was patting him was not a human hand, but a paw with paw pads.

The constable smiled broadly and said, "You say so, I can do it, I will definitely do it for you."

At the Hunshan Hall's headquarters, the constables and officers were sorting through the corpses. Upon seeing Xiang Lingchen and Tu Shanling arrive, everyone stood respectfully and bowed.

Xiang Lingchen ignored these people and looked at Tu Shanling beside him: "Keep looking."

Tu Shanling pointed, and a gentle breeze rose again, sweeping across the courtyard.

Shaking his head, Tu Shanling said, "No, the aura has been severely washed away."

"Useless!" Xiang Lingchen rebuked without any mercy.

A constable bowed and said, "Reporting to you, sir, we have not found any trace of Lord Xiang Feifan."

At Xiang Lingfeng's house, a beautiful woman turned deathly pale upon hearing the news brought by a servant: "What did you say? My husband is dead!"

As soon as he finished speaking, he slumped back into the chair, his eyes glazed over.

"You can all leave now. I want to be alone," the beautiful woman said, waving her hand.

Xiang Lingzhi waved his hand and said, "Get out, all of you, get out!"

The maids and servants all left, but Xiang Lingzhi remained.

He walked to the beautiful woman's side and put his hand on her shoulder: "Sister-in-law, don't be too sad. Xiao Yao still needs your care."
