Ascending to Immortality by Slaying Spirits

Chapter 74 Seizing Intelligence

Chapter 74 - Seizing Intelligence
Early in the morning, Qingli, who was sleeping with Lin Le'an in her arms, suddenly opened her eyes, reached out and pinched a paper crane.

Unfolding the paper crane, Qingli glanced at the contents, frowned slightly, and shook Lin Le awake in her arms.

Lin Le opened her eyes and stretched: "What's wrong?"

“Someone wrote you a letter, take a look for yourself.” Qingli handed the letter to Lin Le.

Lin Le took the letter, glanced at it, and then burned it to ashes.

It was a letter written to him by Liu Yonghuai, indicating that he would soon be suspected and should leave the area in the south of the city as soon as possible.

That fortune teller is quite skilled.

Lin Le was initially a little nervous, but after reading the letter Liu Yonghuai wrote to him, he was less nervous.

Based on the information in the letter, it can be inferred that the fortune teller only calculated his age and general daily routine.

Using this limited information to find Lin Le, who is already "dead" and has changed his appearance through transformation, is not exactly like finding a needle in a haystack, but it's still akin to trying to find a sword by marking the boat.

"Shall we change locations?" Qingli asked.

Lin Le jumped off the "bed" and shook his head, saying, "No need."

He then frowned because his crotch was wet again.

'They're just like monkeys in heat.'

Lin Le joked that he went inside to change his pants and then went out to have breakfast.

Qingli then enjoyed her breakfast with peace of mind.

When Lin Le arrived at Danxia Pavilion, he saw someone repairing the gate.

"What's going on?" Lin Le asked Zhou Ziyang, who was supervising from the side, curiously.

Zhou Ziyang sighed: "I don't know. Our county magistrate has gone mad. He came and banged on the door in the middle of the night just to take someone away."

"Who is it, making such a big fuss?" Lin Le asked curiously.

“A cook who tends the fire, in his early twenties, just an ordinary person.” Zhou Ziyang shook his head. “I can’t imagine what he could have done.”

"I see." Lin Le nodded slightly, feeling more at ease. He knew that the fortune teller had only calculated half of the story; otherwise, the child he had caught wouldn't have been older than him, but rather someone his own age.

"The same as usual today," Lin Le said.

“Okay,” Zhou Ziyang said.

In the alchemy room, Lin Le swallowed the medicinal herbs and refined them into true qi.

In the Spirit Platform Secret Realm, the small gap in the fifth level of the Spirit Platform was being filled at a speed visible to the naked eye.

As the last piece of jade was replaced, Lin Le introspected his inner vision and the Primordial Spirit Essence separated and dripped out the metal element energy.

The fifth spiritual platform began to turn golden.

Having a skill to rely on is a good way to cultivate oneself.

Lin Le sighed, "Just by refining pills, I can make money faster than by robbing and plundering."

"In another five days, the sixth level of the Spirit Platform will be completely perfected, at which point the Five Elements will be fully gathered."

Lin Le clenched his fist, thinking that defeating the Nine-Story Tower shouldn't be a problem.

Another day passed peacefully.

Lin Le internally observed the inner scene of the spiritual platform. The fifth spiritual platform was tinged with the last touch of gold, and eight monkey sculptures with their heads raised and howling appeared on the eight corners.

True Qi flowed through his spiritual platform and surged through his entire body, causing Lin Le's strength to rise once again.

59,800 jin!
Lin Le grinned, a hint of ferocity on his face.

If Qingli were here, she would know that Lin Le was planning to kill someone again.

After handing over the pills, Lin Le walked out of Danxia Pavilion, taking only a few steps on the street to shake off his pursuers.

After mistakenly believing himself to be a member of the Xiang family, the person secretly following him was downgraded to a martial arts master and no longer paid much attention to him.

Seeing that he had lost track of his target again, a simple-looking man slapped his thigh in frustration: "Lost him again!"

He couldn't understand how an old man could possess such advanced anti-tracking technology. The man left dejectedly.

However, what he didn't see was that a black cat was following behind him.

Inside a small courtyard, the man explained the situation, and the man opposite him immediately slapped him: "Useless! I can keep an eye on things, why can't you!"

The man didn't reply, but thought to himself, "How can I compare to you? One is a cultivator, the other a martial artist."

Seeing the stunned man, the man kicked him again: "What are you still standing there for? Hurry up and go find it! If you don't find it, you can forget about your salary this month!"

"Yes." The man who had fallen to the ground got up and hurriedly left the small courtyard.

"Damn it!" The man watched the other man leave, then punched him hard, clearly not in a good mood either.

The pressure was passed down from level to level, and he was under considerable pressure as the county magistrate tasked him with identifying suspicious individuals within the county.

But after so much time has passed, he still can't find a single clue.

Who knows how Wei Zhenshan, that smiling tiger, will punish him if he doesn't produce results!
"Damn it, how am I supposed to find anything with so little information?!" the man said irritably.

"No need to look anymore." A voice rang out at that moment.

"Who!" The man immediately became alert and looked in the direction from which the voice came.

He saw a black cat sitting upright on the wall, quietly watching him.

"A cat demon?" The man frowned, his mind racing. "What do you want?"

"I have something to ask you." The black cat wagged its tail. "You're an intelligence organization here, aren't you?"

"I guess so." The man nodded, fine beads of sweat trickling down his forehead.

“I need all the information about Xiang Jia, Wei Zhenshan, and Baiyun Mountain,” Black Cat said. “Hand it all over, and I might let you live.”

"How do I know you won't change your mind?" The man's body tensed.

"You have no choice." The black cat sat there, like a god. "Either live or die."

“Okay, I’ll pay. I want to live,” the man nodded.

The black cat suddenly wagged its tail: "No, you chose death."

As he spoke, the man felt a gust of air blow towards him, followed by a sharp pain in both arms. Just as he was about to shout for help, a sharp pain shot through his forehead.

The black cat transformed into a human, and Lin Le jumped down from the wall, picking up a rolling cylinder.

"Why bother?" Lin Le glanced at the man whose face was no longer recognizable and sighed.

He was telling the truth; if they handed it over readily, giving him a way out wouldn't be impossible.

He needed someone to stir things up even more, and the arrival of a cat demon was a perfect excuse.

Unfortunately, the man didn't believe it at all and only thought about tipping them off.

Left with no other choice, Lin Le had to see him off.

After retrieving the Yin-Yang Twin Swords and the Qiankun Ring, Lin Le pushed open the door, hoping to find some clues, but unfortunately he didn't find anything useful.

They had no choice but to seek outside assistance.

Lin Le patted the well, and Qing Li popped her head out of it. Without him saying anything, she automatically blew a breath.

"Take all the letters and such," Lin Le quickly added.

The floorboards were torn open, the hidden door was destroyed, and scrolls were blown out by the wind.

After Lin Le packed it into a storage bag, he had Qing Li take him home.

Inside the courtyard, Lin Le frowned as he looked at the scrolls. Because there were coded messages and no corresponding decryption method, he couldn't understand anything.

Rubbing his head, Lin Le decided to turn back and grab another person.

Fortunately, some information was not encrypted, such as how many people were in the Xiang family, which Lin Le was concerned about.
