Chapter 71 Divination

Chapter 71 Divination
"Please call Deacon Said for me and tell him I need his help," Julia instructed.

"I'll go right now." Alex hurried downstairs.

Roland took out a banknote and began to memorize the relevant knowledge about the Bloodborne Warlock path.

“You don’t need to write everything down,” Yulia reminded. “Write down as many pathways and sequence names, potions, rituals, and taboos as possible, but you don’t need to write down extraordinary abilities. You can still perform divination without seeing the contents, and the accuracy of the divination will be higher if you are willing to let him see them.”

She paused for a moment, then continued, "Knowledge remains unchanged for a certain period of time. Unless there are stronger extraordinary factors interfering, the results of divination are relatively accurate."

But don't blindly believe in divination. It's difficult to predict dynamic events, divination practitioners vary in their abilities, and abstract divination results can be misinterpreted..."

“I understand.” Roland realized that Julia was taking the opportunity to teach him.

He wrote down the knowledge of the two sequences, checked them carefully, and handed them to Julia after confirming that there were no errors or omissions.

This extraordinary path is ancient and they're not afraid to let people know. Bloodline abilities are incredibly diverse, so knowing about it wouldn't be of much use. Other paths might be fought over, but if this were offered to others, probably very few would dare to try it.

Yulia paused for a moment, then reached out and took it, a barely perceptible smile curving her lips.

"This is the first time I've heard of this extraordinary path. Its advancement difficulty... seems a bit high, and its upper limit is uncertain. With your talent, you don't necessarily have to choose it." She closed the notebook, her eyes showing worry.

"I feel it suits me better."

“Hmm.” Yulia nodded slightly. The man in front of her had killed two Sequence 8 Extraordinary beings with his bloodline ability, so it was indeed reasonable to say that they were compatible.

Just then, footsteps came from downstairs. Roland quickly got up and opened the door. Alex and Deacon Said hurried upstairs.

"Yulia, are you feeling unwell?" Deacon Said asked with concern.

“Uncle Said, I’m fine. I’d like to ask you to do a divination for me,” Yulia explained with a smile.

“Oh,” Said nodded to Roland and sat down on the edge of the bed. “I’ve already done the divination. The winter hunting camp should be relatively stable from now on.”

“This is what I want to divine,” Yulia said, handing the notebook to Said. “Please help me determine the authenticity of this extraordinary method.”

Said composed himself, a look of doubt on his face. He took the notebook but didn't open it immediately: "May I look at it?"

“Okay.” Julia nodded; she had just consulted Roland.

Said turned to the first page and understood immediately. This extraordinary path was clearly meant for Roland. He smiled but said nothing.

A few minutes later, Saeed got up, opened the book and placed it on the table next to him. He took out a blue crystal pendant from his pocket, hung it directly above the book, carefully adjusted the length of the chain, closed his eyes slightly, and remained silent.

A few seconds later, the crystal pendant suddenly stopped, and then began to swing clockwise, with the arc getting larger and larger.

“Hoo—” Sayyid breathed a sigh of relief, lifted the pendant, and then took out three talismans, arranged them in a triangle to frame the book, and repeated the previous operation, this time rotating clockwise.

He closed the book and set it aside, glanced at Roland, and then began the divination again. A few seconds later, the blue crystal froze, its chain straight, but just a moment later, it began to tremble wildly, pulling at Said's arms and hair.

With a snap, the blue crystal shattered. Said dropped the pendant, staggered back two steps, his expression shocked, and his forehead and nose were covered in fine beads of sweat.

“Uncle Said?” Yulia sat up abruptly, her face showing concern.

“I’m fine.” Said composed himself, picked up the pendant and talisman and put them in his pocket, but deliberately avoided Roland’s gaze. “This knowledge is true and accurate, and there are no traps. I originally wanted to divine Roland’s future, but I didn’t expect…”

After saying that, he waved his hand and hurriedly pushed open the door to leave.

Roland and Julia exchanged a glance, a vague suspicion forming in their minds. Said probably wasn't telling the truth, so what exactly was he divining just now? After a moment of silence, Julia sighed, "Uncle Said isn't a bad person, he's just sometimes too curious, otherwise he wouldn't have been stuck at Sequence 8 for so many years."

"Yes, please thank him for me." Roland nodded, then quickly changed the subject, "Do you have access to these potion ingredients?"

“Neither of these two main ingredients is rare. The Golden Tree grows in the south, but there should always be some reserves. The most troublesome thing is the high-quality blood of the Golden Race, followed by the spiritual glimmer. The purity requirement is too high; generally, 80% or more is enough.” Yulia frowned slightly.

“I asked, and my blood meets the requirements. I also have the spiritual glimmer, so the purity should be sufficient.” Roland grinned, in high spirits.

"Huh?" Yulia looked surprised. "So you really have it. Let me see it."

“There’s no container.” Roland spread his hands.

"What about all the things you bought? Never mind." With that, she pulled over the fanny pack by the bedside, took out a thumb-sized silver-gray vial, opened the cap, and said, "It's empty, put it in here."

Roland didn't take it. Instead, he raised his right hand, made a grasping motion in the air, and a wisp of spiritual light leaped into the real world. He grabbed it and stuffed it into the potion bottle. The whole process was fluid and seamless, like a magic trick.

Yulia stared at him blankly for a long time before she came to her senses and hurriedly closed the lid.

"Is this also a bloodline ability?" she asked, her expression complicated.

"I suppose so," Roland said, unable to explain.

"I'll help you determine the purity. It will take time to arrange the goods, so please be patient and wait two days." Yulia waved her hand, signaling them to leave.

"Okay." Roland found her expression amusing, pursed his lips, and got up to leave.

…………

Killy and Fred did not leave with Roland; they lay on either side of Julia's door, taking their master's place at work.

Roland quietly went downstairs. Her biggest feeling now was that one person really couldn't do it alone. Trading channels, pharmacists, and fortune tellers were all very useful.

However, the outcome was positive. The Northern Merchant Guild owed them a favor, and with Julia's influence, buying some materials wouldn't be a problem. Julia was an advisor, yet she only mentioned the apothecary and knightly avenues. A large organization like the Northern Merchant Guild couldn't possibly be without some resources; not mentioning them likely meant the cost would be too high or it wouldn't be suitable.

He had just left the room when he paused, that strange feeling of being stared at returned. The camp was chaotic, and eyes were constantly meeting; he was often being watched, but he always felt uncomfortable.

The box in his hand trembled slightly. He unlocked it, and the Eye of Pro opened a crack. Roland understood and put the Eye of Pro on his left hand.

"You're being watched." Pro's voice came through the mind link, tinged with schadenfreude.

"Who is it?" Roland kept walking, deliberately heading towards areas with more people, hoping that the Eye of Pro would be able to perceive it more clearly.

“A glimmer of spiritual light, the kind you just took out!” Pro said calmly, his eyes closed.

"Hmm?" Roland immediately realized something was wrong, his eyes filled with suspicion. "Didn't you just need knowledge?"

“…” Pro’s eyelids trembled, and it took him a while to open them a crack. “Not entirely. I do eat snacks occasionally, but I’m just picky.”

Roland remained silent for a long time, unsure whether the Eye of Pro truly wanted to "eat" him or use it to spy on him.

He was certainly willing to part with a single glimmer of spiritual light. If Pro could determine its purity, it would save him a lot of trouble and also provide him with another bargaining chip for exchanging knowledge.
