Hogwarts: Becoming the White Lord from Breathing

Chapter 18 Malfoy's impending doom

Chapter 18 Malfoy's impending doom
Thursday, Charms class.

The one who teaches spells is Professor Flitwick, the former duelling tournament champion. As he has some goblin blood, he is very short, only a little over one meter tall. With his simple grey wizard robe, he looks like a small white-haired old man.

Because of his height, he had to stand on a pile of books to reach the desk during class.

When he took out the roster and called the roll, he suddenly screamed with excitement when he read Harry's name, and fell to the ground and disappeared, causing the group of young wizards to laugh.

The exceptions are Hermione and Damon.

Charms class is Damon's strong point. With this in mind, Hermione has put in a lot of effort.

As for Damon, it was simply out of respect and love for Professor Flitwick - this professor was highly skilled but very easy-going. He treated all students almost equally, without favoritism or discrimination. Students could move freely in class and even joke with him.

As for learning spells? Facing expert-level spells, to be honest, he didn't think he could learn anything in class at the moment.

Unless Professor Flitwick is willing to give him special treatment.

In fact, it is not difficult to do this.

"Magic spells are not just complex and profound spells; they are also an art form, a manifestation of the mind and will."

"Today, the first spell we're going to learn is Lumos. It's one of the most basic and practical spells.

You can use it to illuminate your surroundings in the dark, as a signal light, for decoration, or even as a distress signal in an emergency."

As Professor Flitwick began teaching, the young wizards followed suit, focusing their attention on the tips of their wands and waving them.

"Lumos!"

As the words fell, the entire classroom was instantly filled with lights of different colors. Some students' lights were as dim as little stars, while others were as dazzling as burning flames.

Damon was not in a hurry to cast a spell, but instead helped Neville, who was only emitting a small ball of light. He waited until Neville's spellcasting level reached the average level. Then, when Neville asked, "Why don't you cast a spell?", he said lightly:
"Lumos"

All the students in the classroom suddenly saw a warm sun. As Damon raised his wand, it hung in the sky. It was warm but not stimulating, just like someone's strong heart.

"Oh my! Five points to Gryffindor for your incredible Lumos!"

Professor Flitwick jumped down from the desk and almost ran to Damon with a smile of extreme surprise on his face.

Malfoy looked at the warm ball of light in Damon's hand, jealousy and fear appearing on his face - was this fluorescent flashing?
Even the enhanced version of Lumos Solem can't achieve this effect, right?

Damon is obviously an orphan, why is his magic so powerful?
But soon, he had no time to think about it.

At this moment, his Slytherin classmates, who had always respected him because of his father, were looking at him with anger and annoyance.

There's a rumor going around in Slytherin lately - the reason Damon White didn't join Slytherin was because Malfoy insulted him as a mudblood on the train.

Damon White mistakenly believed that Mudbloods were ineligible for Slytherin, so he chose to join Gryffindor as a second choice. In other words, such an outstanding young wizard originally belonged to Slytherin, but because of Malfoy, this genius joined Gryffindor, the house Slytherin hated the most, and became their biggest rival!

How can this not make them angry?
If it weren't for the fact that Malfoy's father was a school director, their gossip about Malfoy would have turned into actual disgust long ago.

Even so, Damon White's outstanding performance in Charms and Transfiguration classes today will surely reach the ears of Slytherin students in other grades, and Malfoy, the sinner who caused Damon White not to be sorted into Slytherin, will be nailed to the pillar of shame forever by these first-year students!

After realizing this problem, Malfoy's expression became even uglier - but this also meant that he had not yet realized the seriousness of the matter.

Malfoy's disaster will only come when Damon Haas shows more and more advantages in the eyes of all the students, and even becomes so powerful that they can no longer match him.

Damon's performance in the Charms class caused a lot of exclamations, and his achievement of winning five points in one breath made Hermione feel a great sense of crisis.

Now, Damon is only one point behind her!

After Damon's amazing performance, Professor Flitwick did not hesitate to encourage other students, but for the sake of balance, he naturally would not give any extra points to Gryffindor students, so Hermione was unable to widen the gap, which made her a little frustrated.

Ron and Seamus turned into enthusiastic Damon fans, with excited expressions on their faces, and kept winking at the Slytherin students.

Later, when casting the spell, the light emitted by Simo inexplicably contained a few sparks of electricity, but because they were too subtle, they were obscured by the light and no one noticed.

No one noticed that Harry looked at the ball of light in his hand with a somewhat lonely expression - he had long known that Damon was a master of magic, and he should be well aware of the gap between them.

But this is just "Lumos", the simplest spell. Can there be such a huge difference when it is cast by two different people?

Listening to some young wizards whispering about things like "the savior's spell is far less brilliant than Damon's", Harry felt his face burning.

He never liked the term savior in the first place, and now he felt even more ashamed.

Somehow, he also felt that his performance should be better.

But thinking back on the past few days, he had just been hanging out with Ron and hadn't even finished his homework for Monday, let alone reviewing the textbooks in advance like Hermione.

Harry and Hermione looked at each other, as if they saw the unwillingness in each other's eyes, which invisibly brought the distance between them closer.

After class, Professor Flitwick called Damon over, but because Damon had to rush to Professor McGonagall's Transfiguration class, the two did not have much time to chat.

Professor Flitwick learned about Damon's background and restrainedly praised Damon's magical talent, telling him not to waste it. In addition, he also assigned Damon a special assignment - to use fluorescent flashes to create seven colors of light.

"Don't rush to finish it. Once you're confident, you're always welcome to come see me in my office on the eighth floor."

"Okay, Professor."

The two made an agreement and said goodbye in a hurry.
