Hogwarts: Becoming the White Lord from Breathing
Chapter 20 Professor McGonagall's Extra Homework
Chapter 20 Professor McGonagall's Extra Homework
Ron regretted it.
Although the other friends continued to practice Transfiguration with normal expressions, his heart was still in a mess because of the inappropriate remarks just now.
Surpassing Damon? Merlin's beard! What in his head allowed him to say something like that? There was a whole fourth-year Slytherin between him and Damon!
Even if Damon did nothing from now on, it would take him at least four years to catch up with the opponent's duel level.
Fortunately, what made Ron feel better was that Damon did not feel any discomfort because of his inappropriate remarks.
In fact, to Dimon, the matter really didn't matter.
After all, that's Ron's personality.
Sometimes very normal things become a little bad when they are spoken from his mouth.
Because of his family background, this guy has a somewhat sensitive and twisted personality - he always tends to avoid his own predicament by belittling others.
It is difficult for people to honestly accept their own shortcomings at the first time, and Ron, an ordinary person with only courage, is no exception.
He could sacrifice himself for the greater good in the test at the end of the first semester, and he could also complain to Harry under the influence of the Horcrux because of his long and fruitless efforts.
He could get angry and embarrassed because of Hermione's advice, but he would also secretly harbor a longing for Hermione in his heart.
However, Ron has not yet exposed this problem in his interactions with Damon, or rather, he will never expose it.
For this kind of person, you cannot defeat him even if you are just a little bit better than him.
However, if you completely crush him in many aspects with an inhumane attitude, he will instead blame everything on his own fault.
Like now, Damon simply ignored the second half of his question and glanced at him lightly, and Ron sincerely felt that he had said the wrong thing.
A little further away from them, Hermione also noticed the commotion, but she just snorted lightly, turned her head and continued to wrestle with her own matches.
By the time the get out of class was over, Ron and Neville had transformed the matches in front of them into a slightly silver color, but it was still a long way from becoming a silver needle.
Despite this, this was already a very good result - apart from their group, Hermione was the only one in the entire classroom who successfully turned the match into silver, and the tip was slightly sharp.
And Harry, under Damon's guidance, successfully conjured up a needle. Even though it was not perfect, everyone could be sure that it was indeed a silver needle.
From the satisfied look on Professor McGonagall's face, it was clear that they were doing quite well.
Professor McGonagall even praised directly:
"Even among all the students I've taught, you are among the best."
This comment made all the young wizards blush and become extremely excited.
But while Hermione was happy, her smile gradually faded when she thought of the perfect silver needle that Damon had transformed before.
When the get out of class was over, Hermione was the first to leave the classroom.
Harry looked at her departing back with a hint of regret on his face. They clearly had a "great friendship" on the train, so why did Hermione always have to compete with Damon?
Ron, on the other hand, was quietly complaining about Professor McGonagall's outrageous behavior - she had assigned a Transfiguration essay that was a full two feet long, longer than the assignments of both professors combined.
But he couldn't continue speaking halfway - Professor McGonagall had already arrived in front of Damon.
Harry and the others also realized at the same time that the scene in the Charms class was about to happen again.
"Do you have a minute? Damon, I'd like to talk to you."
"Of course, Professor."
Damon said goodbye to his roommate and went with Professor McGonagall to her office. It was a small study on the second floor, off the corridor, with a roaring fireplace, a window overlooking the Quidditch pitch, and a hidden door leading to a bedroom with a gravel floor.
After the two sat down, Professor McGonagall took out some biscuits and gave him a cup of lemon tea.
Looking at Damon using the levitation spell to eat biscuits without touching them with his hands, Professor McGonagall felt her thoughts come to a standstill - was this some new way of eating tea?
After a pause, she carefully considered her words and said:
"Damon, from the first time I saw you, I knew you had a talent for Transfiguration.
I think it would be a huge loss if this talent was not fully developed simply because it was not properly guided.”
"If you'd like, I'd like to give you extra Transfiguration homework after each class to help you learn Transfiguration better.
After all, if I teach you the same way as other young wizards, I'm afraid most of the lessons will be a waste of time for you. What do you think?"
Professor McGonagall carefully observed Damon's expression. She had made up her mind that if Damon showed the slightest resistance, she would immediately come up with another backup plan - to give him privileges so that he would not have to complete the same Transfiguration homework as other students.
"Of course I do, Professor McGonagall."
Almost the moment Professor McGonagall finished speaking, Damon gave her a positive response, which made her feel much better - he was indeed the child she had high hopes for, and he would not let her down.
"However, I would like to ask you to help me with a small problem, Professor."
"You say." Mag adjusted her glasses, her attitude serious, as if she would try her best to meet any small request Damon made.
But the reason for this attitude was that she believed that Damon was a sensible person - he would never make a request that would embarrass her.
The facts were indeed as Professor McGonagall imagined.
"I'd like to subscribe to the daily Transfiguration Today, but I can't find a way to subscribe to it."
Professor McGonagall showed obvious joy on her face when she heard Damon's request.
"It's only been a week since school started, and you've already read about the Transfiguration Daily? Did you read it in the library?"
The last bit of worry in Mag's heart disappeared.
It seems that even without her invitation, Daemon would continue on the path of transfiguration - doesn't this prove that her invitation was correct?
“It’s normal that you can’t find a subscription, as this is an academic journal focusing on the latest developments in the field of Transfiguration.
The content published above is too profound for young wizards in the lower grades. Because of this, and in order to avoid being disturbed by some useless information, this daily newspaper is only for those who have achieved certain achievements or talents in transfiguration.
For adult wizards, it's not really a secret - you just need their subscription address, send an owl to it, and you'll be subscribed from now on."
Professor McGonagall handed Damon the slip of paper with the address on it. "Let's continue with the previous topic. Since you have accepted my proposal, I will give you extra homework from today."
"Let me be frank. If you're going to do this, you have to follow through. If I find that your attitude isn't right, or that you're unable to complete my course requirements, then I will decisively stop teaching you and never continue."
"Okay, Professor McGonagall." Damon agreed solemnly.
Although he now had extra homework from Professor Flitwick, combined with Transfiguration, it was still within his tolerance, and he believed he could handle it.
As for whether there will be more in the future - we'll tell you after there are more.
