Chapter 22: Flight and Potions

"Okay, when I blow the whistle, you kick your legs off the ground. Push hard."

"Hold the broom steady, rise a few feet, then lean forward slightly and drop straight back to the ground. Listen to my whistle—three—two—"

Madam Hooch went on teaching, but Neville was so nervous about being left on the ground that before the whistle even touched Madam Hooch's lips he gave a mighty shove of his foot, and it shot out like a cork from a bottle—twelve feet—twenty feet, and then straight off the broom!
boom!
There was a loud crash and Neville was lying face down in the grass on the ground, curled up in a ball.

The whole process happened too quickly. With Damon's current strength, he did not choose to intervene rashly, lest the consequences become worse.

As Neville's arm was broken, Madam Hooch's face turned as pale as his. After sternly instructing the remaining students not to move, she hurriedly sent him to the infirmary.

Amidst the laughter of the Slytherin students, Malfoy picked up Neville's memory ball. Harry didn't know why Damon remained silent at this time. Filled with righteous indignation, he rushed up and argued with Malfoy.

Soon, Malfoy was on his broom, and Harry bravely followed.

Damon looked at the two people soaring into the sky, listening to the exclamations of other young wizards, his eyes leisurely.

During this argument, Harry will show excellent Quidditch talent, and will be admitted by Professor McGonagall as an exception to join the Gryffindor Quidditch team as a seeker.

This is an extremely important comfort in Harry's miserable and difficult life, and it is also one of the few things that Harry can be sincerely proud of. Naturally, he will not stop it.

When the angry Professor McGonagall arrived, she couldn't help but glare at Damon:
"You're just going to watch them mess around?"

"It's not his fault, Professor."

"Shut up, Miss Patil."

The Gryffindor beauty standing by saw Professor McGonagall asking Damon a question and subconsciously defended him, but was interrupted by Professor McGonagall.

Seeing that Professor McGonagall was still looking at him angrily, Damon smiled and said to Harry, who was worried and blaming himself:
"Nice flying, Harry. I have a feeling you'll become Gryffindor's best Seeker."

"Shut up, Damon! Don't you think you've caused enough trouble?"

Professor McGonagall glared at Damon fiercely, but with a hint of cowardice in her eyes - what Damon said was actually what she was thinking.

In fact, most of the time, the mistakes made by children are not worth mentioning in the eyes of adults. It is only from an educational perspective that they pretend to be serious in order to prevent these children from becoming more naughty and perverse because of their tolerance, just to make the children realize the seriousness of the matter.

Damon wasn't having any of it.

"Potter, follow me!"

Harry followed Professor McGonagall dejectedly, thinking that in ten minutes he would have to pack up and leave.

Just then, he saw Damon mouthing to him: Don't worry
Somehow, Harry felt himself relax a little.

During dinner, Harry excitedly shared all this with Damon Ron.

"Wood told me I'm the youngest Seeker in a century!"

At this time, the Weasley brothers walked into the dining room. When they saw Harry, they walked over quickly.

"Good job," whispered George. "Wood told us. We're on the Academy team, too—batsmen."

"I'm telling you, we're definitely going to win the Quidditch Cup this year," said Fred. "We haven't won one since Charlie left, but this year, our team is going to be awesome!
You must be great, Harry. When Wood told us about this, he was so excited that he was almost incoherent. They looked at Damon with regret and said, "Prince of Duelling, it's a pity that you can't join Quidditch. How did you perform today?"

"So-so."

Damon dealt with it casually. Once he joined Quidditch, he would have to set aside three nights a week for Quidditch training. As for weekends, it goes without saying. This was unacceptable to him now.

"Well, it seems even our dueling prince has things he's not good at," Fred and George exchanged a glance and quickly excused themselves, "We should get going. Lee Jordan thinks he's discovered a new secret passage that leads outside the school."

"I'm full too, take your time."

Damon stood up and left first, going to the Room of Requirement to practice spells.

After he left, Malfoy dared to show up. After provoking Harry and Ron, he invited them to a duel at midnight. Hermione was furious with the two of them because of this.

Afterwards, the three of them miraculously entered the restricted corridor on the fourth floor and encountered the three-headed hellhound Fluffy who was not asleep, but escaped unscathed.

How amazing, isn't it?

Friday, Potions class.

There are a total of 142 staircases in Hogwarts.

Some are wide and big, some are narrow and small, and wobbly. What's worse is that every Friday, some stairs lead to different places.

It’s worth mentioning that, because of Damon’s presence, Neville and Harry have always maintained the habit of getting up early. Only Ron is stubborn and often mutters, “Even if I don’t get up early, I won’t be late. Why torture myself?”

When he arrived at the classroom, Harry couldn't help but feel lucky - fortunately he left early. If it weren't for Damon, he might have left at the last ten or twenty minutes like Ron and been late because of the relocated stairs.

Harry was worried about Ron who hadn't gotten up yet, but suddenly he heard the little witches talking.

"There it is, look," one of the girls whispered, a hint of excitement in her voice. "It's incredible! He's more handsome than any other boy I've ever seen!"

"Yeah, he's really handsome!" Another girl's voice was a little dreamy. "Did you notice his profile? I dare say that even Quidditch star Leonardo is not as handsome as him!"

Harry paused slightly. For a moment, he thought these little witches were talking about him, but he soon realized that his joining the Gryffindor Seeker was still a secret, and the person these little witches were talking about was obviously Damon, who was in the limelight.

Perhaps due to the large fluctuations in the House Cup scores, all first-year students from the four houses now knew that the Dueling Prince was incredibly talented in Transfiguration and Charms, having won a full ten points for Gryffindor in the first week.

Damon, who they were talking about so much, was sitting in the second row of the classroom. He supported his chin with one hand, his eyes lowered, and slowly flipped through the book "Magical Pharmacy and Potions". However, his expression seemed a little disgusted.

Harry noticed that although the little witches were discussing Damon enthusiastically, no one sat next to him. Hermione was sitting on the right side of the third row, turning her head to look at Damon from time to time, with fighting spirit burning in her eyes.

As for Harry? She had simply ignored him – ever since the night of the Cerberus, she had decided to ignore Harry and Ron, which was welcome to them; they had had enough of Hermione bossing them around.

Damon, whom Hermione regarded as a competitor, was apparently flipping through a book, but in fact the content of his vision had changed.
