Hogwarts: Becoming the White Lord from Breathing
Chapter 5 Choosing a Wand
Chapter 5 Choosing a Wand
Ollivander's Wand Shop
A small, shabby and mysterious house.
"Olivanders, making fine wands since 382 BC."
After reading the peeling gold sign on the door, Damon looked up and saw the wand lying alone on the faded purple cushion in the dusty window.
Hearing that the magic wand also corresponds to the characteristics of its owner, Damon walked into the small shop with anticipation.
"Jingle, clang, clang."
The bell rang, and Damon looked around the store curiously before the owner appeared.
The shop was a small temple, empty except for a bench in the corner. Thousands of narrow boxes containing wands were piled from floor to ceiling, and a thin layer of dust covered everything.
He didn't take it seriously and sniffed the smell of smoke and dust in the air. At this moment, an old man appeared in front of Damon with the sound of footsteps. His large, light-colored eyes were like two shining moons in the dim shop.
“Well, you seem to have a special aura, young man.
Just looking at you, I feel a surge of magic. You seem to be growing, and the magic is gathering within you, becoming stronger and stronger."
Without waiting for Damon to answer, he took out a long tape measure with silver scales from his pocket.
"Which arm do you use your wand with?"
"Right hand."
"Put your arms up, okay."
Ollivander measured Damon from shoulder to fingertips, then from wrist to elbow, shoulder to floor, knee to armpit, and finally the circumference of his head.
"All right," he said, and the tape measure slid to the floor and curled up. "Well, Mr. White, try this one. It's made of chestnut wood and a dragon's heart nerve. It's thirteen inches and perfectly flexible. Give it a try."
Damon took the wand with interest and waved it, but the next second the wand was taken back by Ollivander.
"It's actually wrong?"
He took out another wand and introduced it:
"Oak, phoenix feather, twelve inches long, quite elastic. Give it a try."
Damon was about to try, but before he could raise his wand, it was snatched away from him again.
"No, no, although this is an extraordinary combination, it still seems too mild for you."
Ollivander kept pulling out his wand and taking it back. At first, he wanted Damon to try it, but later he didn't even try it. He basically took it back as soon as it was in front of him.
As this process continued, the pile of tried wands grew higher and higher on the bench.
But the more wands Ollivander pulled from the shelves, the happier he seemed.
"Outstanding leadership. A dictator who dares to make decisions. An experiential person who loves life. Well, a picky customer."
Ollivander scratched his head and suddenly pulled out the twenty-third wand.
"Yes, it should still be the original choice, but there will be some changes!"
"Cherry wood paired with the heart nerves of a fire dragon! 13 inches, just the right amount of soft and hard, give it a try!"
Damon took the wand and suddenly felt his fingertips suddenly warm up, and magic power surged spontaneously.
He subconsciously raised the wand above his head. Without waving it, a red light shot out from the top of the wand like fireworks, and the dancing spots of light were cast on the walls.
Ollivander shouted "Excellent!" and immediately looked at Damon with his pale, colorless eyes and said seriously:
"The Fire Dragon's heart nerves are highly adaptable, and their power is immense, but they also have their own preferences, especially when combined with cherry wood."
"This wand is extremely difficult to control. Only people with extraordinary self-control and willpower can own it. If you can't fully control it, maybe one day it will backfire on you, or turn and surrender to a more suitable master." Damon raised his eyebrows slightly and looked at the wand in his hand with some dissatisfaction. In other words, this thing is a traitor?
But just when Damon had this thought, a warm current suddenly surged out from the top of the wand, and along with the magic power, it was continuously transmitted into his body, as if to please him.
At the same time, a voice sounded in his head.
[Ding! Detected that the host has obtained his own wand! ]
[Magic power increases by 0.005 points per breath]
[Every breath you take will earn you 0.045 magic points]
A wand adds 0.005? That's quite impressive.
Damon nodded secretly, not taking Ollivander's episode too seriously.
Since the traitor wand admires the strong, why doesn't he just become the strongest?
It would only take one year, and he was confident that he would not lose to anyone in the wizarding world. At that time, Harry Potter had just finished his first grade, so he had plenty of safe time to improve himself.
"But you don't need to worry too much."
Ollivander took a step back and said happily:
"Little wizard born with powerful magical powers, paired with such a powerful wand, you will surely be able to travel further than most."
"Thank you."
Damon thanked Professor McGonagall politely and walked out of the wand shop with Professor McGonagall.
After buying textbooks and other equipment (a tin-plated, standard-size No. 2 crucible, a set of crystal phials, a telescope, and a brass balance), Professor McGonagall escorted Damon out of Diagon Alley and, after some hesitation, said:
"Damon, you are very talented in Transfiguration. In the future..." Professor McGonagall pursed her lips, as if a little embarrassed by what she said, "When you are sorted in the future, perhaps you can consider Gryffindor. I am the head of the house there."
"Thank you for your invitation, Professor." Damon smiled warmly and promised, "I will."
As far as he was concerned, anywhere was fine as long as it wasn't Slytherin. He had no interest in those gloomy, pretentious cowards.
Professor McGonagall heaved a sigh of relief when she heard the promise, but her mood soon became complicated again.
She knew very well that such expectations might not be fair. After all, the Sorting Hat could always see through every student's deepest desires and potential.
Thinking back to what she had just said, "You can consider Gryffindor," she couldn't help feeling a little embarrassed.
"Then I'll wait for you at Hogwarts, Damon."
"Okay, Professor. See you on September 1st."
Damon waved goodbye to Professor McGonagall, found a coffee shop and sat for half an hour, and then - returned to Diagon Alley again.
He had a full two hundred gold galleons in his hand, and he had just spent a few dozen of them. He had a lot of things to spend.
Moreover, his current identity has a huge bug - there is no trace of him now!
That is to say, he can cast spells at will without worrying about being discovered by the Ministry of Magic. So before entering school, he still has an important thing to do.
Chestnut + Fire Dragon Cardiac Nerve Combination
Suitable for wizards with strong character, strong sense of mission, and the ability to control powerful emotions.
Oak + Phoenix Feather Combination
It corresponds to mature and stable people who have experienced greater challenges. It is suitable for rational and emotionally deep wizards, especially those who grow through challenges and self-reflection.
Cherry wood + Fire Dragon's heart nerve
Corresponding to a wizard who has strong emotions, is creative and adventurous.
It is also suitable for those who can calmly control their emotions and unleash great power in battle.
This type of wizard is usually extroverted and courageous, with a strong sense of purpose and inner motivation. Especially when faced with challenges, they can quickly mobilize their passion and potential.
The length of the wand affects the display of its power. A longer wand often means stronger magical energy output, but it may also mean that the wizard has higher requirements for control over magic.
