Storm of Gods

Chapter 200 David Returns

Chapter 200 David Returns
Sensing the pressure from Miss Aries, Li Xin smiled and said, "Miss Aries, these national affairs are far removed from our lives. Have you gained any insights from your recent journey on the hidden path?"

Estella shook her head. "I'm still the same as always, praying devoutly every day, hoping that Mother Goddess will have time to pay attention to me. And you, Mr. Gemini, don't seem to have changed much either."

Her progress in upgrading her divine relics felt like pure luck, and she wasn't actually in a hurry. However, the unlocking of divine relics would bring different insights into the world, which was what interested her.

“Perhaps the path is predetermined. I feel that I cannot walk the path of the knight. Of course, I am still trying, but it is very likely that I am already on the path of the enforcer. Miss Aries, do you know if the path can be changed? Is it determined by the relics of the gods?” Li Xin asked.

"It seems to be related to the divine relics to some extent, but not very much. The path is still one's own choice, I'm not very sure. What I do know is that changing the path is very difficult. If you've already gone a long way, wouldn't you have to pay a heavy price to change it? We'll have to ask Mr. Cancer about such secret knowledge." Estella suddenly laughed, "It seems like we've been taking advantage of Mr. Cancer all along."

"Yes, Mr. Cancer is indeed the encyclopedia of our roundtable."

"encyclopedia?"

"Oh, it's a book that contains all sorts of knowledge," Li Xin explained.

“That must be a remarkable book,” Miss Aries said. No wonder Mr. Gemini was so different from others; he not only traveled the continent but must have also read this remarkable book.

"It's not exactly a rare book, more like popular science for kids," Li Xin said with a smile, then looked at the dome. "I wonder what the next roommate will be like."

“Maybe it’s my roommate,” Estella said.

Li Xin suddenly sensed fluctuations in the outside world. Although his consciousness was in the Round Table, it was not completely isolated from his body, and he still had some awareness of the world his body was in. "Miss Aries, something has happened on my end, so I have to go back."

"Okay, Mr. Gemini, see you next time."

"See you next time."

The two stood up, and Miss Aries gracefully curtsied, while Li Xin placed his hand on his chest in a slight gesture of greeting. Their figures then disappeared from the round table.

The constellations on the dome dimmed, and then the zodiac star chart started making a booming sound again, the tapping sound lasting for a while before disappearing...

Li Xin's consciousness returned to his body. The door was rattling loudly. "Xin, Xin, come out for a drink. I'm back. I heard you've hooked up with a girl with a great figure."

David's roar came from outside the door, and Li Xin blushed. There really couldn't be any secrets here. He opened the door and David gave Li Xin a warm hug. "Haha, I knew you were more promising than Daliwen and Lao Kan. Those two guys are too flirtatious and pretentious. When pursuing girls, you have to be enthusiastic and proactive. If necessary, take your clothes off first!"

"That's just being a pervert."

"They're pretty much the same. With your looks and physique, it's hard to say who'll get the better deal," David laughed. "Why are you sleeping so early? Get ready, Ma Liu's stall is almost closed for the night. Let's go out and have some fun later."

"Okay, I'll be right down," Li Xin said. He changed his clothes, washed his face, and ran his fingers through his hair in front of the mirror. This kid is really handsome.

Li Xin went downstairs. There weren't many people eating at this time. However, Daenerys had said that the evening market had to stay open until nine o'clock, otherwise those who worked late would go hungry. Her kindness couldn't tolerate such a thing happening.

Pork cracklings are now very common and have appeared in many places, even causing the price of pork, which is usually worthless, to rise. Daenerys Targaryen has complained about this a lot, and the price of chicken has also increased to some extent. However, given the nature of the ingredients, it is still within a controllable range. Daenerys Targaryen's business focuses on low costs, which is perfectly manageable.

David seems to have done a great job on this mission and probably made a profit. He said he'd treat everyone to a high-class place.

Li Xin, Daliwen, Kan, and Ma Liu even invited Lao Fang along and changed their clothes. The six of them squeezed into the carriage despite the driver's murderous glare, but the driver stopped them, saying, "Are you crazy? Six big men in one carriage, my horse is going to die of exhaustion."

“Haha, no way, it’s just the weight of five ordinary people. My two friends count as one. I’ll give you an extra 5 Hz tip later,” David said. Although he was usually extravagant, he still knew how to save money where he could. “No, you’ll have to wait for another one.”

"Brother, don't do that. We're going to a bar. Let's drive, let's drive. It's not good to split up. 10 Hz, that's the most we can do." David waved his hand.

The driver looked at David and said, "One price, 45 lira, or you can change to another car."

"Okay, okay, that's settled then." David wasn't very good at bargaining, and he was in a hurry and everyone got into the carriage. They could squeeze in and stand on their own.

The group finally arrived at their destination in an extremely bizarre manner. Li Xin was surprised to find it was the Bluebird Bar. Damn, this place is ridiculously expensive. It seems David has struck it rich this time.

Compared to the magnificent carriages passing by, their semi-trailer carriage did seem a bit out of place, but David didn't care about such details at all. He had long heard of the Bluebird Bar's reputation; not only was the wine excellent, but there were also beautiful women, truly top-notch beauties. Life is about looking up, after all. What's the point of making money if you don't spend it?

The group was stopped at the door because it was full. The waiter was quite sensitive to the strange outfits of the group. In his professional opinion, it looked like a mercenary and five penniless people. Going in would be a bit of a letdown. The Bluebird Bar was very popular and not just anyone could get in.

"Wasn't the outside empty? How come it's full?" Old Fang was clearly very interested in this place, especially after seeing so many snow-white and sexy figures inside. He felt like his youth had returned and his legs were nimble again.

“Sir, that table is reserved by a VIP,” the waiter said.

Daliwen laughed, "Why wouldn't I make money?"

The waiter smiled but didn't say anything. David knew the rules of this kind of place; shouting wouldn't get him anywhere. A waiter came out and his eyes lit up when he saw Li Xin. "Sir, you've arrived. Please come in."

It was the same guy who had served Li Xin and Christie last time. The 20-year-old Golden Torrent wasn't unusual at Bluebird Bar, since Heldan had no shortage of rich people. But the guy with the amazing skills to make beautiful women willingly throw themselves at him still impressed Sullivan and left a deep impression on him.

Sullivan was a senior waiter here and could arrange the guests' seating. Under his guidance, Li Xin and his group were seated. Although it wasn't as good as the last time, the location was still decent. They couldn't see the sea, but they could see the garden.

"Damn it, Young Master Xin, you finally gave yourself away. It's your turn to treat today!" David yelled.

Li Xin quickly waved his hand, "No, I can't afford to invite you. I'm here to drink with my boss."

"Who is it, that stunningly beautiful, snow-white woman?" Kan asked.

"It must be her. She's rich, beautiful, and a big shot in the Bird Society. What does she want from you?" Old Fang asked curiously, looking Li Xin up and down. "Young Master Xin, we've known each other for so long but I've never had my fortune told. Would you like to have your fortune told?"

"Old Fang's fortune-telling skills are quite impressive. Damn it, I almost died this time. Luckily, I remembered Old Fang's warning and kept a close eye on things, which saved my life," David laughed.

"Shouldn't we add more money?" Old Fang said with a smile.

“Ahem, those are two different things. Our brotherhood cannot be measured by such vulgar things,” David quickly changed the subject. “Bring on the wine, bring on the wine.”

They couldn't afford expensive drinks, so they opted for the basic spirits. For men, the alcohol is often secondary; the atmosphere is more important. They were with their brothers, and any women around were stunningly beautiful. Unlike the vulgar bars they used to frequent where the women were more aggressive than the men, the women here were refined, fair-skinned, and exuded sexiness and elegance. Even their laughter wasn't lewd.

The men stared, their hormones surging, except for Ma Liu, who wasn't particularly interested in these women. In his mind, only Daenerys Targaryen was the epitome of womanhood.

David and the others were quite impressed with Ma Liu's taste; he truly deserved to be called a chef.
